He helped me find a date and time that worked, reviewed the pricing and promised to call me the day before. Guess what? Max actually called the day before! Day of: He ran a bit late, but sent a text and called to give me updates on his eta. When Max and his partner arrived they were all business. They got to work promptly. I've worked with other companies and you feel like you have to monitor the movers, make sure they aren't in the truck taking selfies or smoking a cigarette to increase their rates. Not with ZMax. They wrapped each of my items carefully, disassembled two couches, moved HEAVY boxes and never seemed to be out of breath! We then drove to Baltimore and arrived within minutes of one another. Again Max and his partner got to work and had me all moved in from start to finish in 3.5 hours, with an hour commute to Baltimore! If you are moving ZMax is your choice, no question.”

“ I was so overwhelmed with this last move: selling and buying a home with about 1 day to initially move in. Max was the first and most responsive owner to contact me back. Move on a Sunday? No problem! Need to move a heavy one piece of furniture too heavy for two guys? No problem, call for backup! Due to staging and general packout, I also had two storage PODS to unload a few days later. Zmax helped me out with those as well! I was impressed with his general knowledge of moving; even helped us align the huge rental truck we found hard to maneuver! Now on his fourth day of moving services with us, he's almost like family. Even my very picky Max brought extra moving supplies and moving blankets, tape, etc and helped us protect our items even better than what we had already packed them. His rates were incredibly fair and his team very efficient. Max was careful about not damaging either home, we couldn't see a single scratch or scuff after they left. “ Max has helped me move twice now, and both times he and his partner did an amazing job. He communicates promptly and often. They arrived on time (they were even ten minutes early this last time). They are true professionals, moving stuff carefully and efficiently. It was amazing to watch all of my possessions disappear into the truck and then reappear in my new apartment, up three winding flights of stairs. They wrapped all of my furniture up so it didn't get banged up. They also managed to get my couch up a tiny, winding staircase. They handled some parking issues with aplomb (pro-tip: if someone parks in your permit-marked parking spaces, the DC police can and will summon a tow truck to move them, but the whole process will take about an hour and a half). To top it all off, their pricing structure is very fair, reasonable, and transparent.”

“ Hired them originally for a Monday (local move) then had to reschedule to a Tuesday. Contacted the owner max and he was very accommodating to my erratic schedule. Anyway, Day of the move came, his crew which I originally thought were "youngsters and inexperienced" were very thorough and efficient! They were pros at the job and I was pleasantly surprised how they packed the 18 ft truck. They handled all our furniture carefully and placed them where they should be. Max came to help as well which made the move more efficient as it was already getting late. They started at 3:30, ended at 10:30. Way passed the time that we were calculating in our heads, we thought it would only be about 4 hours but boy, it took forever. They didn't stop until the move was finished and job was complete! “ Moving can be daunting. Packing, timing the move, getting outlandishly useless quotes from movers ("No hidden fees. We charge only by hour. Between 4.5 and 9 hours"), not to mention putting your stuff in the hands of strangers. Not these guys. Of 20 quotes I asked for on Yelp, Zmax was the only one to offer to come actually see my place (for free) to give an accurate quote. He was upfront about the need for 3 guys (3rd floor walk up) and quoted me 4 hours, provided everything was packed up. Even with 3 guys, their pricing was very competitive. We agreed to a time and they were there on time. They were super courteous to my wife and son, quick, efficient, and careful. Whenever I felt the need to help out they assured me it was not necessary, and paid excellent attention to where things should be placed and any set up they could assist with. I particularly liked Maksim coaching the other guys on occasion in more efficient and fast ways to do things to keep it quick for them and me. No gouging or feet dragging whatsoever. They came in under budget, and were super simple to pay. The place looks great. Nothing broken or damaged. I put out some decorative items and orderedlunch and just relaxed the rest of the afternoon. What a surprisingly smooth experience. I really cannot recommend Zmax enough.”

“ I can't rave enough about ZMax - we're so glad that we used them! The price was one of the lowest that we were quoted and the guys were professional and personable. They let me know when they were on their way and communicated throughout it the whole process. They worked quickly and efficiently the entire day too. We ended up having way too much stuff (understatement of the year) so we needed a second moving day; they were happy to come back and help again (we were sure they would ghost us after the first day - they worked from 10am to around 3:30am without complaint with only a break for lunch in the afternoon). They took care with our things and brought tools to help disassemble and reassemble furniture (they also wrapped them to ensure they wouldn't be damaged - there were no hidden fees or surprises with the cost either). “ The team arrived 50 minute late, after the scheduled time slot and had one English speaking leader with two helpers and an older unmarked truck. The team was nice and respectful throughout the interaction; however, only the leader seemed trained. My furniture was not treated well in the move; boxes were stacked upside down and sideways; dressers were loaded on their sides causing cracks and damage, large expensive sofa sectional dragged down wood stairs on sofa cushions, and my very expensive mattress was folded in half, partially wrapped in plastic wrap, and strapped to the outside/back of the truck. Significant damage was later found on leather furniture, dresser, and plastic tubs; and minor damage found on other items and walls. The job took 8 hours, even with me helping the entire time (102 flights of stairs and 24k steps). The 8 hours did not include moving boxes to the correct floor, building any furniture, or removing pads from furniture--family stepped in to help with that. After spending over $1000 with ZMax, I still had to carry furniture and boxes from the garage, up to the correct floors, even though every item was labeled with color coded moving stickers. Damaged furniture was found hidden behind items after movers left. Some pictured. I would not use ZMax moving if your furniture is expensive or important to you. Additionally, I would only use them for smaller jobs, as a normally furnished home seemed too large a job for their team and 24 ft truck.”

“ The team communicated well and was timely. The team worked very hard the entire time and carried heavy furniture and boxes for 8 hours! They were honest and communicated throughout the move. Moving tips that I learned from this experience: 1) Be realistic about how much "stuff" you have and overestimate the amount, so the right truck and team are matched. I underestimated how much stuff I had and it required extra time to load the truck. If you have too much stuff, it's best to take multiple trips, than to overly stuff the truck--takes time and is difficult on the furniture. 2) Walk through the house with your mover and clearly communicate which furniture is fragile or important, so it is wrapped, has pads, and is loaded in the truck with extra care. 3) Mark the boxes clearly. I used round color coded stickers from amazon to label each box-- labeling where it would go. When I unloaded, I moved all boxes to the wall of the room and set the furniture in place. I then unpacked the content of the boxes to there new location.”

“ They showed up with masks, as safety is number one priority now. They were quick on their feet and got everything done in a timely manner. They even offered to fix up our mattresses and crib. The whole move was professionally executed. We had booked a bigger truck with three movers. Max came in and adjusted this to a smaller truck with two movers, as we dint require a larger truck for our stuff. He lowered the prices accordingly for us.
