I need to have a rental truck loaded from my apartment, transported to a local facility, and then transferred into relocation pods. They were easily able to disassemble my sofa for transport with their own equipment. I had a company scheduled to move all belongings from my apartment in Westchester to my new apartment in NYC. The day of the move, that company unfortunately cancelled and I was left in a very difficult situation considering I had only that day (Saturday) or the following day (Sunday) to move everything. I contacted Xcellent movers immediately (roughly 2pm) because I had spoken to Xavier previously in searching for moving companies and was very happy with his professionalism and politeness. He not only was able to find three gentlemen to do the job for me the next day starting at 10:30am (less than 20 hours notice mind you) but I requested they come even earlier if possible given my moving situation. They called me the next morning letting me know they could start at 9:30am and moved a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment to a new 2 bedroom 2 bathroom in the scope of 5 hours. The gentlemen that did the move had a great attitude and made what could have been a dreadful moving experience a great one. Xcellent movers saved my move weekend - great work, great attitude, great price.”

The owner preys on customers and attempts to gouge and upcharge on price on days of moving. I booked 2 guys for 4 hours. We spoke the day before and he identified it would be 3 guys 3 hours which is an extra man hour for the same price. I informed him of the most important difficult item being a gun safe in the basement. No problem. We arraigned time. He showed up with his 2 guys 30 minutes late. I brought him to the safe in the basement. He looked at it, shook it to estimate weight and proceeded to inform me it would be an additional $400 to move the safe. I booked through Uhaul site and the total was about $360 and the only extra charge was for pianos. I confronted him about it and that I had talked directly to him the owner the day before and there was no mention of extra charge. I kicked him off the job and put a complaint in against him. He text me after and apologized starting he was going to cut me a break and charge me half price or an extra $200 for the safe. I confronted him on bait and switch and tried to extort more money on days of money when people are desperate. My 2 daughters and I moved the safe from the basement. Highly untrustworthy.”
