I went with this company because it was 3 guys for 190 an hour. Only one guy was working the other two were standing around and eventually I started moving stuff just to get them to start. I even asked them if they could start taking things out and they just looked at me in the face and ignored me. I will never go with them again the whole thing could’ve taken two hours but it took over four. I had such anxiety the entire time because I had to work that day and they were just standing around and I was paying almost $200 an hour. I will definitely go with two men and a truck next time. Oh and they were not careful with my furniture.. my dresser has chunks missing from it from every time they hit the wall and my couch is ripped. I heard my stuff being banged against the wall and dropped so many times that I had to step away by how upsetting it was.”

Danny and Josh, the men that moved my stuff from storage to my new home are amazing and if I was just rating them, I would give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, the company’s overall organization, pricing and communication was terrible. For those of you that don’t want to read the long version: I would not recommend using them. I felt like I was swindled to spend more than was necessary and could have gotten a more affordable deal through a different moving company. Definitely DON’T use their storage! Way better/ more affordable deals elsewhere. Before I hired them, I called them to check pricing and spoke of every piece of furniture I was needing to move and store in their storage pods (I was only moving furniture, not boxes so I knew exactly what going and only that got moved by them). I moved out of a 2 bedroom townhome. The women I spoke with told me my things would likely fit into one storage pod, maybe two at $75 per month. They ended up charging me for three (because that how many I actually needed) for a total of $225 a month. I would have paid only $99 for a 10x10 from Public Storage. By the time it got to USA, and the price jacked up, it was impossible to go elsewhere. There storage pods are very small which is why they can make so much money off of people. Move to storage: movers showed up 1.5 hours early (after the start time had been confirmed). When I booked, we set it for noon, three days before they told me 9am and then on the day of they showed up at 730a. They charged a transportation fee for mileage and travel time which is fine but then also kept my time meter running while they were traveling. I paid them $169 to drive 25 minutes worth of mileage, and then paid them the $169 hourly rate while they were driving as well. When I spoke to management, thy denied this was double billing. They did give me a discount of $169 though when I complained because one of the movers was on his phone constantly (and now, no longer employed there). Move out of storage: When I called to book, I asked what time they would start packing and was told 730a. I said I would be there at that time and did not want the clock to start until I got there. He then told me to show up “closer to 830a”. They also told me at booking that the movers had booties to go over their shoes or something they can roll out to protect the carpet. They did not mention if either would be an additional cost. I got to the warehouse as they started and the manager told me they didn’t have booties, the movers were not allowed to take their shoes off and the roll out stuff was $75 a roll. This left me to scramble to find booties at the last minute. I found the booties, the roll out stuff was $12, and it had more than double what was on the roll the movers would have supplied. I think everyone I spoke with was very friendly and professional but think some of their business practices around pricing are questionable/scam like. I felt like I had been swindled when it came to the storage and associated fees and the $169 travel fee.”

BUYER BEWARE: Before booking a move with USA Family moving please reconsider. I am currently going through a claims process for furniture that was damaged by the 3 movers that USA Family Moving provided end of August and it is a complete pain (see attached images of two damaged columns that belong to my Entertainment Center and the middle section of a 3-seat couch). Don't waste your time booking the basic insurance as you are only reimbursed for .60 cents per lbs for whatever your damaged item is worth. Also they calculate depreciation for the age of your items (5% for every year) so you are literally reimbursed pennies for expensive furniture that they damage. We booked moving for 5 hours. The move ended up taking 8 hours because they only provided 3 movers and they were practically teenagers who had trouble carrying heavier items, thus, resulting in the damage seen in the attached photos. The response to my claim has been very delayed and not helpful at all. Matter a fact they argue with you via email, how unprofessional! I would not recommend this moving service. Lastly, I highly recommend that during ANY move with ANY company that you keep a close eye on your personal items to avoid personal items being stolen, this is a very common occurrence during moves so be careful!”

I sent this email to the company, unfortunately, it was 3 months after the move since I didn't find the email from USA Family Moving because it was in my spam folder. I never heard back ... My move was very difficult. There were 22 pieces of furniture and other smaller items that needed to be moved from the third floor of my home to my other house. Three guys were sent but I think there should have been at least one more. They estimated 4 hours for the move and I think it took almost 8. On top of that there were a number of scratches and dents on the walls and handrails. In addition, I think your movers need to be trained in taking furniture down stairways that turn. We needed to tell them to turn the furniture so that the open side could go over the rail. Instead they were trying to force it around the turn – leaving scratches and dents in the wall and handrail. I’ve enclosed some pictures of some of the damaged areas. Also, the dust skirt on the couch was ripped in two places. I had some bedroom items that needed to be moved from the basement of the new house to the second floor. I told the person I scheduled the move with about that and they said it would be no problem. However, when I told the guys they said they only move items from one house to the other, not within the house. I told them that I had talked to the scheduler and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. I had planned on tipping them, because it was a lot of hard work, but I was surprised that one of the movers said they would do it if they got a tip. Not a very good reflection on the company. In all , I was not very happy with my move and would never use them again!”
