So my fiance and I were applying for an apartment with this company about two hours agoand I just received a phone call from them telling us that we had been denied for the apartment for reasons that they refused to tell us. I was able to meet the required credit requirements and for exceed the income requirementsand they certainly did not have time in 2 hours to be able to do a thorough background check which I would have met the requirements of not having a felony within 10 years which is listed on their paperwork since I've never had a felony. the management company was fully aware of our entire situation before asking me to pay the $50 application fee. I feel as though this is just a scam toacquire a series of $50 fees for a supposed background check that they clearly did not runwith a service that they are most likely paying $30 a month for unlimited background checks. I absolutely would not recommend that anyone do business with this company. I believe that the reason is because it would be a second-floor apartment and we have a six-year-old which is the only concern that the person handling us mentioned. I feel as though we were discriminated against because we have children and I will be seeking legal measures to remedy this and to make sure that parents in the future coming to this company will be treated fairly unlike we were.”
