Two Men and a Moving Van Reviews

★★★★★
Not a bot. I'm human... would a robot do this: ? I was impressed by the movers who helped me, Makhambet and Nursultan. You may not care about their names, but I'm letting you know that they took care of my stuff, worked hard, were very polite, and spoke respectfully. I was not entirely prepared for my move, and they appeared with tools that I did not have on-hand. I'd HIGHLY recommend them if you don't want to spend a fortune and want people to move your stuff safely and efficiently.
- Matthew P.

★★★★★
I just hired this moving company last week and was very impressed. We did two moves with them last week! My new townhouse has 5 flights. Not only did they do it all in a timely manner but didn't get any marks on the wall. Would hire them again
- Shay K.

★☆☆☆☆
Absolutely horrible movers. They failed to show up on the move date on time. When they finally did arrive, they left without moving anything at all because they said they were too tired. Then they arrived over a day late to deliver the items. They arrived so late during the day that they had to stay until almost midnight to unpack the truck and didn't even finish putting back together the furniture and smashed one of our pictures (never paid us anything back for that either). The most disturbing thing is that they overwork their workers so much that they physically can't finish the job. I fear for the workers safety driving such long distances without adequate sleep. At the end of the move there was a problem with the total amount, but after calling their manager, the workers said they were not allowed to leave my house until I signed off on the total amount (it was 11:30PM at night). Do not use these movers.

★★★★★
This was my first time hiring movers and it was an ABSOLUTE GIFT. Not only was the company able to schedule me pretty last minute (about a week in advance of my move) but the folks who showed up and moved everything were delightful, helpful, friendly, and efficient. Angel, Luis, and Ambrosio did an incredible job wrapping and packing everything up with care so that all of our items made it over to the new place in perfect condition. We had some pretty heavy items that had to go up a two flights of stairs and they did it with ease and a smile. You can't put a price tag on movers, but this tag happened to be incredibly reasonable for the amount of stuff we had moving from a three bedroom apartment to a two story house. I'm super pleased with how everything went and will absolutely hire this service again when I'm planning my next move.

★★★★★
Online scheduling was easy and straightforward, including a good ballpark estimate based on inventory/distance/timing. Follow up confirmation by email and personal call as our date approached was appreciated. Franklin's team (4 men, large truck) arrived within the 2hr window provided, got oriented, and got straight to work. They were able to take more than we expected, and in less time too! They took great care of our things, including a few very large, very heavy items (Indonesian hardwood bookshelves, anyone?) Not only were we done early, but the final billing was reduced as a result! Fantastic service at a fair price...what more could you ask for? Could not recommend them more highly.

★★★★★
No move ever goes perfect. I've moved many times as an adult and I know this is a fact. But my move with Two Men and a Moving Van went about as perfect as it gets. They gave me a good quote, the movers were very nice guys who did a great job. The company went out of their way to make sure I was 100% satisfied, which I am. I definitely recommend them.
- Gina C.

★★★★★
These movers were the best! I really didn't know what to expect hiring movers, but everything was so much better than I expected. The quoting and booking process couldn't have been easier - all online. Before the move, every few days I received a text to confirm move day was coming and what to do before the movers arrived. The movers themselves arrived on time during the window they provided. There was an issue where the parking spots reserved were taken and they were super accommodating with coming up with a solution. I was surprised with the hustle these three guys showed - they never stopped moving! They protected all the items the could be scuffed durning travel really well and everything arrived at its destination in perfect shape. They were even fine with hauling things up multiple flights of stairs and got everything where it should be. I wouldn't hesitate to use Two Men and A Moving Van again - serious top notch work!!
- Kaari D.

★★★★★
Oscar from the company's customer service department reached out to me and we had a great conversation. He ended up offering a refund on the fridge and compensated us for the minor damages. Although the move didn't go as smooth as we thought, the company's emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction really impressed us and definitely set them apart from some of the other moving companies that we've dealt with. We are happy with the end result and look forward to recommending Two Men and A Moving Van to our friends and family and possibly working with them again in the future!

★★★★★
We had a really great experience with Two Men and a Moving Van. Hector and crew were very efficient. We had some confusion with the arrival time using the online portal, but everything worked out and the crew showed up right around 9:30a. We also had someone call us mid way through to check progress and after the move to make sure things went well/there were no damages. Would definitely recommend and would look to use them again if we need to move.

Fyi... this guy is STILL calling me and (lol) no, I'm NOT a disgruntled ex-employee. Paul is apparently a liar, now claiming that he hasn't been calling me repeatedly, demanding that I remove my negative review and now, I used to work for them?? Paul, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't lie through your teeth ON YELP to mitigate a negative Yelp review. I just don't think that's the best approach. Seriously, leave it alone already.

★★★★☆
Great option for Seattle locals who need to move. We had a short distance move but a decent amount of stuff, 3 flights of stairs in our old place and lots of furniture that needed reassembly including our daughter's crib which I was a bit worried about. Two Men and a Moving Van showed up on time and their estimate was well within range of the actual cost. It was a rainy day and they used blankets to cover our carpets. Furniture was reassembled perfectly. They did a good job cleaning up moving boxes and plastic wrap on their way out. They are reliable - would use them again.
- Lauren F.

★★★★★
We had a great experience with this company. The communication was great and the team worked very hard to make sure everything arrived safe and sound. This company also had a flat rate price for the travel to and from their starting point. Other companies I got quotes from charged the standard moving rate as soon as they left the trucks starting location. This could have increased the price of the job considerably depending on traffic. The workers were great. I would recommend this company for your next move.
- Terry U.

★★★★★
These guys are the bee's knees. We had them move us today and it was a breeze. I explained my concerns and they definitely listened. They wrapped all of our furniture to the extreme! Nothing broke, nothing was scratched, no damage to be found. They even moved this extremely heavy and expensive mirror (upstairs). They were courteous and very polite to work with as well. 10/10 would recommend.

★★★★★
I was in a tight spot. One moving company cancelled on me with no real reason and another just didn't answer their phone or email, but Two Men and a Movin Van were prompt and courteous with their responses. On Yelp it was very easy to get in contact with them to request an estimate. Paul was able to follow up with me within 20mins to give me a viable contact number and talk more in depth about my moving needs. A deposit was given over the phone and at the end it went to paying the moving services. I was able to communicate what exactly needed to be moved. I was sent an email confirmation of the services, their rate, about how long it would take to move and the estimated total via email with instructions for moving day. Ron was able to ask follow up with me via text the day before to remind me what time approximately the guys were coming over to start moving. Soon enough moving day came around with Tim and El being good natured about my home being in such a disheveled state. They asked me what items were a priority prepared with packing items and were able to quickly assess how to get my items over to my new place efficiently. In all, it took about 3.5hrs up and down stairs, but they worked hard and were able to assemble my things back together with no damages whatsoever. They cleaned as they went along so no plastic or trash was left behind. Any items they took apart all the screws were accounted for and nothing was lost in the transition. I wasn't able to decorate or get into the spirit for the holidays because of the move, but now I'm definitely settling in and feeling the holiday spirit! Thank you Tim and El! Chowder and I really appreciated everything you've done for us!

★★★★☆
Two Men and a Moving Van was an okay experience. Received two stars because they were generally very responsive to requests and outreach as well as, I could tell the movers were working hard. However, they were working hard at the expense of efficiency and, when you're paid by the hour, finding the right medium between hard working + fast + careful is an important medium to strike. When moving into my two bedroom apartment in Seattle, I had hired a different mover where they sent 2 people to pack in Bellevue and unload into Seattle. It took them a total of 3 hours to pack, ship, and unload everything into the 2bed apartment. (In case they bring it up: When moving into the apartment, I also did not have an elevator reserved within the building because the building only has 1 elevator so you can't reserve it) Fast forward exactly 1 year. We are preparing to move from Seattle (Central District), to White Center Seattle. We have now gained: 1king frame + Mattress, coffee table, desk in terms of furniture. The initial quote was quoted at about 3-4 hours for the entire body of work (I've attached screenshots of both my inventory list + my estimated quote). In all fairness, they do add a disclaimer that all quotes are an estimate and that sometimes unexpected delays can cause the time to change. Given my prior experience moving into the apartment (detailed above) I assumed it wouldn't really exceed 3.5 hours. 3 guys showed up right within their arrival window, and to make the move as efficient as possible, I had already disassembled the 2 bed frames, shipped most all boxes except for about 8 of them and everything was all but ready to be packed... or so I thought. They then proceeded to take the next 3 hours to literally shrink wrap all of the different pieces of furniture and didn't even start packing the truck until about 3.5 hours post arrival. All in all, it took exactly 5 hours for the move or ... basically $1,000 (900 even is what I paid on an $836 bill) to move a 2bed 2bath apartment. It just seemed to lack.... efficiency and for those reasons, I won't be going with this movers again. update: After seeing the yelp review, they ended up reaching out and refunding me 1 full hour of labor (almost $200). At minimum, it's great to see a company that truly cares for their customers and their experience

★★★★★
5 Stars to me means that the business has met or exceeded my expectations in such a way as to guarantee my business a second time. The next time I need to move; I won't look around, or price quote, I will simply call Two Men and A Moving Van. Sam and Bratan made short work of a large two piece sectional couch, a lot of large 30 gallon action packers and beds. Everything was professionally wrapped and carried, and then same went for transporting and unpacking at the new spot. Sam communicated with me ahead of time with plenty of notice, the guys were punctual and answered all the questions I had. Some side details: -My move was pretty straight forward and I had most of the items ready to go. -My quoted rate was 136/hr for 3 hour minimum. This was in line with other companies. I didn't use my full 3 hours but to me this was worth not having to hassle figuring out truck rentals, finding friends or family to help etc etc. -The 'Van' they showed up with with a large commercial truck (with a lift gate) that was more than enough room for everything I had. Overall: Moving sucks, and if you want to make it easy on yourself, and make the move a lot simpler, hire this company. Bonus if Sam and Bratan are the guys helping you out. Highly recommend!

Beka and John were quick, professional, kind, and moved all of my things seamlessly! I couldn't have asked for a less stressful move. I'll definitely recommend Two Men and a Moving Van to all my friends who are moving

★★★★★
I hate moving. My last job kept me moving all of the time; I am glad those days are over. Anyhow, I had to help my mom move into her new apartment, so we needed to find someone to help. I have had my bad share of movers and these guys were not one of them. Nevertheless, Two Men and a Moving Van did an outstanding job. They were scheduled between 8 and 10. They called at 0830 to ask if 0930 was good. They showed up, took a tour of the site and started immediately. They carefully packed and loaded everything as if it was their stuff. They were also quick getting everything loaded and unloaded and left me know when they were taking a break, so I would not get charged for it. They also gave a veteran discount and a discount when I paid cash. Overall they did an amazing job and I would use them again.

★★★★★
Amazing and seamless moving experience. Aladin and Al were very professional and considerate when they helped me move. They made sure everything was transported without any problems and they also worked quick and efficiently. I'm very impressed by the service and will definitely recommend them to anyone that's looking for moving help. Once again, thank you so much for helping me to move!

Requested a quote online via Yelp, and received an estimate the next day. Everything appeared to be going well, however the estimate increased for the travel distance (Seattle to Bellingham) as it was not a local move. That was fine, as it is understandable that longer distances should be more for gas and time. A few days later after figuring out my schedule, I confirmed the move out dates and made the $50 deposit. I received a phone call after that stating that someone had made a mistake and the cost to move would be significantly higher, after I had made multiple attempts to clarify the distance of the move, again, Seattle to Bellingham. The customer service was iffy at best initially, but after having two increases in pricing for the travel distance AFTER I had made a deposit I decided to cancel the whole process. This company is suspect, I would NOT recommend using their services.

The owner continues to harass me and threaten me, both by sending me messages and by continually updating his comment. This just proves further that this is a bad business, honestly much worse than I thought when I first left a review. I have reported him to Yelp. Hopefully they take some action. You cannot threaten customers in order to get reviews removed, and threatening will not make me remove it.

★★★★★
These guys were great!! We used them last year and they reached out to us this year asking if we needed help again moving from our apartment and they even had some specials to offer, which is great. Highly recommend!!!

★★★★★
The movers meticulously packaged all the heavy furniture and bought it to the new location without any damage. Thanks for moving the big stuff for me. I would definitely recommend them.

Easy to book. Movers were very courteous and friendly. They helped me load my storage container as well. Very hard working and would use them again. Also very mindful about the clock.

These guys were incredibly responsive and professional in helping me move across town. They wrapped and moved my things efficiently and provided reasonable accurate quotes for the move. I would definitely use them again for my next move.

★★★★★
I've always dreaded moving because of all of the hassle that comes with getting your possessions from one place to another, and I was exceptionally cautious due to the recent situation with COVID-19. Two Men and A Moving Van made it exceptionally easy. 🙂 Dan and James were absolutely great to work with, and they made moving day a breeze. From the beginning, the process was very easy. A quote was easy to get, and I appreciated their intuitive UI/quote tracking system. The quote pricing also wound up fairly similar to the final price. Dan and James showed up day of, and were completely flexible and accommodating. They showed up with masks and gloves, and wrapped everything in seran wrap before moving it! They also were efficient about padding and wrapping other furniture items, such that nothing was damaged in the move. I felt confident enough with how secure everything looked to have them also (ad hoc) move all of our TVs as well. When we got to the new location, they rapidly were able to set all the furniture where I requested, and de-packaged/rebuilt my furniture as needed. All in all, they were the cheapest of the quotes that I requested, and their service was phenomenal. Would work with them again and definitely recommend to others.

★★★★★
I had to move large furniture items from my condo in SeaTac to a storage unit in South Seattle. I booked a reservation with Elena over the phone. She was very courteous, professional, and upfront with costs. The movers were friendly and very careful with my possession. They wrapped my piano, dresser, bed frame, bed spring, and mattress in shrink wrap. They got everything loaded and into storage within two hours. I would definitely use them again.

First time using a moving company, and could not have asked for a better experience. The movers were extremely detailed in protecting my items and packing diligently. When moving into my new home they were very cautious and clean. Over all an amazing experience!

It was my first time using a moving service. The team, from answering from my questions to the moving team on the actual day were quick, friendly, and efficient in the services provided. They were customer centered & truly made it an easy experience! I would definitely utilize them in the future.

I have hired movers six times because I move a lot and this was, by far, the worst experience I've had. The movers damaged many pieces of furniture, the wall, and scratched our hardwood floor. We asked them multiple times to not drag things on the hardwood floor and they refused, so we eventually had to ask them to leave and finished the move ourselves so they wouldn't do further damage.

UPDATE (7/29): Paul's response to this review is not sincere. Just yesterday, I received an email offering me $200 in compensation after 6+ weeks of silence. I responded saying I won't accept this as it didn't even mention the damaged aircraft model, which cost more than $200 alone. Their response: "We can send a handy man and glue parts of the planes." Insulting! Why should I accept a glued together mahogany model from my C-17 pilot days as compensation for their gross negligence? Do NOT HIRE this company and beware of their so-called 5 star reviews. UPDATE: down to 1 star. The same day I posted this review, I was CHARGED for the $572.50 I had previously been refunded. STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Original review: I would not recommend Two Men and a Moving Van after four separate moves over the last two months. I can summarize into six key reasons: (1) Too costly for the quality of service. (2) Packers lack skill and good judgement on when to use extra care and when not to. (3) They can't accurately estimate. (4) They did not use an inventory system of any kind. (5) I had to pay for "insurance" to protect myself from damage to my shipment in case THEY were negligent. (6) They lost my trust. On the positive side, the movers were polite and generally were trying to do a good job. They made an effort to make corrections based on feedback from our first move (but their corrections were insufficient to change my opinion). (1) Costs. They are EXPENSIVE! Their hourly rate is just too high for the quality of service. The packers waste excessive time "protecting" items that do not need to be protected for a 30 mile move. Example: I watched a packer carefully wrap 15 year old wicker Tiki torches in bubble wrap. The cost for his time to wrap these torches was at least twice their value. I'd estimate they wasted 30-40% of their time over protecting items for such as short move. Finally, their system is setup to "pressure" you into tipping the movers at least 10%. We paid over $750 in tips just for our pack and move. (2) Packers lack skill. The packers who packed us did not use good judgement for deciding what items needed extra care and what items didn't. Example: I'm a retired C-17 pilot and had a mahogany model of a C-17 from my flying days. This model was literally thrown into a box with no wrapping and several heavy items on top of it. No surprise, it broke. As of this review, I have not yet been compensated for this item or any others I claimed and my most recent inquiry from two days ago has not been answered. We'll see. (3) Bad at estimating. Every one of their estimates was grossly wrong. We even had them estimate my move twice after my mom's move with them went over schedule. Their second estimate nearly doubled from their first estimate, and was still way below what it actually took them to pack and move. (4) Inventory. They did not use any form of inventory system. I've moved 20+ times in my life as a retired military guy and this is the very first company I've ever used that did nothing to inventory items. We would have no way to prove they lost something and they'd have no way to prove they didn't. (5) Insurance. Their "free" insurance will cover your damaged items (because of THEIR negligence) for 60 cents per pound. If they break your $3000, 100 pound TV, you will presumably get $60 back if you file a claim. If you want to be reimbursed for your actual damages, it will cost you. A lot. $560 for me (just for one of the moves covered in this review). They did not have a trustworthy valuation method and just about everything associated with this "plan" is suspect. At one point their office manager told me they never once had to pay a claim (because they never damage anything). I find this impossible to believe, which leads me to my fifth point. (6) Trust. Over the two-three months I worked with Two Men and a Moving Van they completely lost my trust. They contradicted themselves on several statements they made. Example: I was quoted a total cost for my move of $3482 to $4372 based on their initial estimate. I thought this was high, so I challenged it. The office manager came back and said "I can offer you that you won't pay more than we estimate at the most. So you know your maximum budget. If it will take less hours - then you win!". After their second estimate, their "fixed" price changed to $5100. The actual move cost (not including tips and insurance) was more than $5650. I complained and they refunded to get the cost of the (just) the move back to $5100 (UPDATE: they RE-CHARGED me for this refunded amount without authorization). This is one of many examples. Bottom line - find another moving company!

Two Men and a Moving Van, the people, crew , and staff members of this company are truly angels !!!! They came to our old home in Kent,WA and secured all breakable items; packed up everything in a timely manner into their truck. Drove three hours away to deliver everything to our property and unpacked everything safely. This company gave us an estimated time, price and was true to their word. Two Men and a MovingVan,this company's crew went over and above the call of duty. They did so much more than just deliver our stuff to our property they thought us how to be better at packing, securing items and proper lifting technique's to make sure that all our household items were delivered safely. It just brought tears of joy to my eyes just watching how professional these guys were!!! We are truly grateful for their services because without them our furniture would not look as beautiful as it does. I just want to say thank you and bless this company for all that they do. We will be using Two Men and a Moving Van again !!!! Your company and your crew are a true blessing; thank you the Bennett's.....

You are right, there are 2 sides. You did not compensate us for the damaged fridge. You told us that is your policy, even though the movers broke your own policy when moving it. What was the dumb comment about emptying drawers? Everything was empty. The broken desk is about $1000 to replace, is $300 enough? We reluctantly accepted that money as you left us no reasonable alternative, but did promise further legal action. As far as what needed to be moved, we showed them what to movers. We only left a couple of wall hangings and a couple it's in the back yard. Had they not been moving in the dark and the one load as it was bid, it would not have been an issue. Long story short, your company over promised and under delivered. We were trying to be reasonable with our compensation request, but you were not. I guess making a buck is better than doing the right thing. Update, got a call out of the blue from the owner. He told my wife that he hadn't heard of our experience until recently and wanted to correct it. He put a check in the mail the next day. Not satisfied, but it's a decent compromise.

We chose this company based on their reasonable quote. Should have been aware when the man who came to do our estimate visit had a blasé attitude. On the day of the move the 6 to 7 hours turned into nine. I had to negotiate several times to receive promised promotional discount. AND. they still didn't get everything moved! We had to rent a truck to get the rest. PS. Contacted them to make things right and they argued and refused. Now today I discover that they put our table together upside down!! Do. Not. Use. Them. Update. The owner called me and wanted to make things right. Guess he had been away for several months. Sent me a partial refund check. I was amazed! Grateful for this follow up. Give them a try.

The responses posted by the owner of this company are a clear indication of their lack of professionalism and overt hostility when asked to take responsibility for damages caused by them when moving m belongings. Consumer Beware!!!

As per my last review I received call from owner Paul with an apology for the poor services rendered. He offered for refund for the time wasted by these young men. Since I have to move from storage to apt later this month, we agreed on a discounted flat rate and he stated will send in their best crew for that move. Great news! I love efficiency. He stated they will be discussing what happened during my move at a team meeting today. I appreciate the apology. I will leave another review after next move!

We had nothing less than a superlative, extraordinary experience from start-to-finish with Two Men and a Moving Van. They accomplished a lot more in 3 hours than we would've (or would care to) across several days. We'd wholeheartedly recommend them to mitigate stress and remove frustration from your move experience, and want to describe the whole process and call out some specific key points as to why, in hopes this will help with YOUR decision: - We sent project quotes to 10 moving companies on Yelp. As we narrowed down the candidates, Two Men and a Moving Van was available on short notice and ready to help. Paul stood out because his replies took into specific questions we asked from the onset, and didn't feel like a generic autoreply that needed more prodding. Through back and forth messaging, Paul assuaged our concerns. - Next up was calling their office to talk to Elena, to formalize the booking details. She was thorough and methodical in walking through the process and pricing -- something that was consistently reiterated, which we appreciated, since hidden charges suck. Their billing structure is very fair. Anyway, we're generally well-organized, and in the best interest of setting expectations, we sent a webpage created with Notion that showed pics of the key items to be moved. - Oscar texted us shortly afterwards to coordinate further details, and when we asked him about leaving items in drawers to save time, he communicated with a very responsible answer regarding the possible risks and balances with that. We're doing a same-building move so it's not a huge distance, but nonetheless, the clarity was appreciated. - On the same day of the appointment, Russ and Dan reached out with a phone call, about half an hour before the appointment, to let us know they're on the way. Again, we emphasize: we've had spotty results with some home help before, where they weren't reliable about updates, showed up late, etc. But TMAAMV excelled across mediums: text messages, phone calls, and eventually as we'd find out, being in-person. - Russ and Dan met with us, wearing face masks in these COVID-19 times and observing proper protocols, and after lifting their tools off the van (yes, literally two men and a moving van), got to work. They have a tremendous synchronicity between them, multitasking on smaller pieces of furniture, or teaming up to move a bed and couch. They confirmed they'd done many jobs together, and it was poetry in motion watching them weave back and forth, around tight corners with their dollies, and using hands to prevent items from dropping as they loaded up stacks of storage containers and other boxes. - We placed Post-It notes in the new apartment to indicate which items go where. Russ and Dan studied the layout, and decided on a plan of attack to get everything progressively into our new home in an order that made the most sense. Our building doesn't have an elevator that can be locked off, so they had to be even more resourceful in leaving piles of items in front of the elevator, then bringing them up in batches. Each time they had a full load, they'd signal me that they're ready. - We also laid down door stoppers for unimpeded access. Russ and Dan literally rolled out a red carpet-looking mat (which was kind of symbolically cool) over our door frame, to ease wheeling in one thing after another. With some of the more ambiguous placements, they turned to us to confirm, and it felt really great to see the formerly-empty rooms becoming more and more of a home. - Russ and Dan went above-and-beyond when they noticed we had an IKEA drawer set that was falling apart due to wood pegs on the bottom being loose. Dan caught it in time on his dolly, and fixed it up as best he could. I emphasize, these guys were EXTREMELY careful with our stuff, using gentle but strong touches to maneuver, and they did not originate the problems with this drawer. So when it literally exploded and fell to pieces in the elevator, they approached it cooly and professionally, then moved on to the next thing. This was a really nice touch. Similar thing happened with a small cat house, and again, they drew our attention to our issue, recommended how to fix it for the longer-term, then moved on. - They also paid very close attention to subtleties with the furniture, given their prior experiences with similar types. They were quick to point out our sofa legs could be unscrewed to get through a door frame (I had forgotten about that), and chose the optimal vertical or horizontal arrangement to "Tetris" the most items in each elevator batch. - After all the key priority items were done, Russ and Dan turned their attention to a lot of loose items that we hadn't gotten to yet. Dan went to the van to get more vertical wardrobe boxes, and gathering all of these strays together was also really satisfying to watch. - We finally finished at exactly 3 hours on the dot. Great job and well done moving out!
