Princeton Van Service Reviews

I can’t say enough about how seamless my move to Florida was with Princeton Van Service! I had a unique situation & Lou went above & beyond to make it happen. They were on time and Omar & Jr kept me updated during the entire trip, not to mention how hard they worked on very hot days! The staff is professional and Lou always responded to my text in a very timely manner. I can’t thank them enough for keeping my move stress free! I will always recommend them. Karen L, Mon Jct, NJ

I hired Princeton Van service a little over a month ago for a move from Princeton to Brooklyn, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They squeezed me in pretty last minute, and my team of movers was on time, communicative throughout the whole process, very efficient, and very friendly! I had never hired movers before and was expecting at least a few hiccups, but absolutely everything went smoothly. I would definitely hire these guys again.

I have used Princeton Van Service for two moves, one local and one distance (NJ to MASS). Both experiences have been terrific. Lou is a first-rate professional. As soon as I contacted him he scheduled a free estimate, was available to speak or text anytime I had questions, returned calls within a day (sometimes within an hour), and was ALWAYS pleasant and courteous, meticulous and detailed. The movers themselves were conscientious and worked expediently, even with oversized items, hard-to-navigate stairwells, and extreme heat. Glassware/TVs were handled w care. With so many less-than-legitimate moving companies out there, it’s great to have this reliable, professional service in the area. Highly recommended.

These guys are real professionals. Price better than other quote, Moved my mother-in-law from her house of 40 years in CT to NJ. Large house (used to be a church in 1800s!) full of priceless (to my mother-in-law) antique furniture and collectibles. Also crated and moved 8 stone sculptures—very heavy and truly priceless, all came thru without a scratch. They’ve also moved several pianos for us and, again, they are real professionals. Moved a large, heavy 100 year-old upright from the house from which we bought it into our house, then years later moved it out and brought in the full grand from CT. That full grand is huge! Watching them take it from vertical on the “piano board” with no legs to horizontal on the legs, in place in our LR was a sight to see. Wow.

Terrific moving company! We had a complicated move, involving storage for an uncertain number of days, but they were very accommodating, and charged us a reasonable amount. Lou was a pleasure to work with and assigned to us a really wonderful moving crew, both for the move out, and again for the move in days later. We LOVED that this company recycles boxes. They shared with us whatever used boxes they had on hand (including several large wardrobe boxes) free of charge. We were sure to return the favor and save all our good boxes, including ones we had bought at Lowe's and elsewhere, continuing the chain. Because the company also picks up the boxes for free, our new place was instantly free of clutter. Best of all, this is an independent family-owned company--in our minds always important to support. Enthusiastically recommend!

Princeton Van recently moved our household from New Jersey to upstate New York. Although we packed all our own boxes, teams at either end wrapped and unwrapped our furniture, disassembled and reassembled the beds and dining room pieces and took considerable care over a couple of old, rickety pieces that I love. They were fast but careful and they cleaned up as they worked so there was very little mess left behind, which was very helpful. Lou is patient and responsive, listens to your questions and responds in a timely way. All in all, we had a great experience with this company and I would recommend them.

This was the second time that I used Princeton Van Service and once again I was completely satisfied. The moving team arrived slightly ahead of schedule and quickly got to work. They were sensitive to keeping the costs close to the estimate and yet took great care with moving my furniture. I highly recommend Princeton Van Service for your next move.
- Marion Bruschi

Friendly and punctual service. They came back to pick up unused boxes/ paper debris. Really helpful.

I honestly don't really know where to start... I guess I'll start by saying that I've used this company in the past for a VERY local move within the same complex with no issues. However, this recent move from NJ to GA was nightmarish, to say the least. Lou (owner) is a BS artist. A likable guy, but inconsiderate and tardy is an understatement. There was not a single day out of this 4-day move that he or his crew were on time. 9:00 AM turned into 11:30 on 3 of those 4 days. My favorite was the move-in date where we established a time of 10:00 AM. He shows up at 5:30 PM. I'll add that, on all 4 days, I never received a call nor text advising me of the schedule change. Beware of the insurance. I got trapped accepting the basic coverage of $0.60 per pound because I was never informed that full coverage had to be ordered through a third party insurer at least 48 hours in advance, which I gladly would have accepted the additional charge for. This didn't come to light until Lou approached me with an insurance waiver on day 2, when half of my stuff was already loaded. Not much to my surprise, there was a casualty during the move: a $400 bar stool. The icing on the cake of this whole ordeal was as Lou was finishing up offloading me in GA. He told me that no other moving company would have had the flexibility that he pulled for me in getting this move done over a 4 day period (6 if you include the weekend). Little did he know that I used to be in the business and we did moves and last minute changes on a regular basis. Particularly with moves from NY to FL. The best part of this move was when it was over. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because of my initial move within the complex that was without incident. I'd even go so far as to recommend them for a local, same day move. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone for an interstate move. This was my experience. If you go with Princeton Van, I hope yours is better. Hard workers who know what they're doing, but I can't get past the tardiness and lack of consideration for the customer.

I could not have been more pleased with Princeton van’s service .I have referred coworkers and friends over the years and they’ve always been pleased. Thank you Lou for all you’ve done. Happy New year!!!God Bless

The 3 professional movers saved my piano. The buyer of my second property confirmed that I can leave the piano unti January 28th, we closed on the 22nd. I needed to schedule with Princeton Van, we got the date, came to the house on the 28th and the buyer had already had her demolition crew taking up the floor, walls etc around my piano 3 days before. I was stunned. The 3 movers moved my piano quickly and carefully, infact the demolition crew was given orders to destroy the piano, but the 3 Princeton Van movers told them they are picking it up. They told them ok. If I had waited one more day, my piano would have been a junk pile. Thank God for them!!
- Christina

The moving team showed up promptly that morning, then worked very hard to transport my belongings with care. What they were not able to accomplish they did not charge me for. When items were placed in a different location than I desired, they moved the items without complaint. And the cost was reasonable and better than several competitors.

This was my third time using Princeton Van Service and I would definitely use them again. They’re responsive, courteous, and prompt. I’ve used them for longer distance moves within NJ, and shorter moves just to the next town, and each time I get the same quality service. Their movers are always very helpful whether they’ve just arrived or it’s hours later after a long move. I recommend Princeton Van Service to every one I know making a move.
- Vanessa Diaz-Grassi

The 3 moving guys did a nice job, only 1 broken foot off of a dresser. The moving guys worked pretty hard. The supervisor walked in and said oh "This will be an easy fast move". However, the office quoted me for 4-6 hours and the move went over 8 hours. My desk was not re-assembled and the beds were not re-assembled as my wife told them to finish up and get out b/c our dollar tree was out of leaves. Nothing against the 3 men working but the office should have given a fair estimate. I know I know they will say it's "just an estimate" but come on estimates should be close. In addition all they had to move was furniture and mattresses no boxes no electronics, no fragile dishes, etc.
- Joe Barber

Movers were kind, efficient, came on time, and made the move extremely easy. Would fully recommend to anyone in the area.
- Anna Jacobson

We had a great experience with Lou and his team. Everyone was very helpful throughout the whole process and they really help made our move less stressful.
- Jeff McIntosh

I picked Princeton Van service, and I’m very satisfied. Everything Lou DeCibus, the owner, told me, as far as packing, pick up and delivery was on point. The guys who packed and the guys who moved were very careful and worked very hard. They couldn’t do enough to make it easier. Mr. DeCibus followed up with a phone call after the van left to see how everything went. I had a lot of unexpected trash (nothing left by the movers-our own stuff) as we were leaving our old house & didn’t have anyway of disposing of it. I had mentioned that to Mr. DeCibus on the phone & he said, “I will take care of it”. He was there as we were leaving. I was shocked & really appreciated it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. It’s a first class moving company.

Jose, Yasin and Derek were prompt, courteous, professional and extremely hard workers. They took care of my things and had my move completed quickly. 10/10

Princeton Van Services moved us during the Covid-19 crisis. They were professional, wore masks and gloves. They provided used boxes to pack, arrived on time, moved the furniture and helped us arrange it. The price came in lower than the estimate. Many thanks to Lou and his crew.

Moved out of State with Princeton Movers the staff was awesome and working with Lou was great. I highly recommend Princeton Movers we had an exceptional experience. Moving is a very stressful time and I felt comfortable that my belongings were safe and was very satisfied with the delivery.

As a newly single mother, I was very stressed about moving into my new house. Jose, Noah and Yasyn arrived earlier than expected, were patient with me while I got my life together. They moved my furniture quickly and helped my children and I set up our new home to our comfort. I have already recommended them to 2 of my neighbors.
- Tabitha Bellamy-McKinley

Very professional crew. No Damage. Big thanks to Jose, Yaya, and Don. Lou made our long distance move happen on very short notice.
- G T

From my initial contact with the owner, Lou, I was extremely impressed with his professionalism; he explained the process and put my mind at ease. Lou put in a lot of effort to work around my busy schedule. When Jose, YaYa and JL arrived they were not merely on time - but a little early! Jose, the leader of the crew, was efficient and considerate despite the difficult move. Jose, YaYa and JL handled my possessions carefully and managed my many boxes of various sizes well. Nothing was damaged not even a scratch. Jose and his crew had the entire house packed, loaded and unloaded all in the same day. (timing was one of my biggest worries) We need a company like this; honest professional careful and reliable. I highly recommend Jose and his crew . Thank you again Jose!

This was The best experience I’ve had throughout my whole buying and selling process this past 2 months. The workers from this company were on time, very respectful, mindful, kind courteous and funny. You could tell they really like their jobs and take pride in what they do. They worked so well as a team and they packed each item carefully. It was a long day for all of us and not once did they get tired of me directly them where to put boxes and I had a TON of boxes. The price that I paid was worth every penny, not expensive, very reasonable and I so appreciated each and every one of the five workers that helped make this experience Not stressful. I won’t be moving again but I would recommend Princeton Van service in a heart beat! Thank you for such great service!

Lou and his team were amazing. We had the unfortunate situation that our moving day was the same day the recent tropical storm hit NJ. I was sure Princeton Moving would need to cancel, but as they understood the demands of our timeline, they absolutely got the job done. For those who did not experience it - this storm was extremely forceful, with high winds and rain for many hours. The team pushed on regardless. The care they took to protect our furniture, including keeping it dry, was truly professional. When we arrived at our new house, believe it or not, there was a blackout. But once again, Lou’s team rose to the challenge. Using what was left of the natural light, plus flash lights, they got us fully unloaded, and successfully reassembled the furniture. Remarkable. I can’t say strongly enough how impressed we were. The team was extremely professional. Plus their care relative to Covid was notable. Thank you Lou & team! You are the best!

We were very happy with our move with Princeton Van Service. Lou did a good job estimating our move, although we went slightly over, we were prepared for it. Unexpected things happen. The movers moved our furniture out of our old house and in to our new house with great care. We didn’t experience any broken furniture or items. Princeton Van Service packed four large mirrors four us, and they arrived without a scratch or break on any of them. It was extremely hot both days of our move, yet the men worked very hard and non-stop. They were true champs, wearing masks, and moving heavy furniture. The icing on the cake was when I called Lou to tell him we were missing 3 little furniture feet caps. They were on a table that sat on a hardwood floor to protect the floor from scratches. Lou said he would check the truck. He found them, AND delivered them to our new house. Customer Service at its best. Is any moving company perfect? No, but these guys come pretty darn close.

**Avoid at All Cost** I have used their service recently and regretting till now. The people who showed up were slow so that it will run on extra hours of service which they will charge you by hour. They will charge for stairs. They have put my carpet on sand while it was unloaded from the truck. I am still not able to clean that sand properly resulting I have to throw it away. Be aware the estimate they give you will run over by $300-$400 more. Last but not least they have ripped my king size mattress during packing (for mattress packing they will charge you extra). They gave a discount of $100 but my mattress is ruined forever.

We moved from one end of West Windsor to the other - about 4 miles. We had the moving men wrap out large, heavy framed artwork. We didn’t unwrap the art pieces immediately while our new house was painted. About a month later, we h wrapped the art pieces and discovered that a large, heavy framed piece was missing. It was valuable - signed by the artist and authenticated. Lou says our items were the only ones on his truck and nothing was left. We have submitted a claim to the company and to our insurance company. It’s difficult to fathom how a heavy 3 ft by 3 ft framed picture can be lost. Very dissatisfied.
