Let me put you at ease by telling you have found the right movers & no need to waste your time calling others. Todd came out to go over all we had to move which was a lot from being in home 30 years. He sent out picture boxes for huge pictures, mirrors, etc, which they help wrap and huge help to us. He kept in touch till move telling us he would be sending 2 trucks & 4 movers. They arrived on time all very polite & worked together as a team to make sure our furniture was well wrapped, carred & packed. Tony can pack a truck like nothing I have ever seen, Don't let Jeff fool you by being small he pure muscle, John knows how to tape up the boxes & very kind if I ask to move couple pieces. Then there is Jake such a fine young man which these days are rare. Anyway after 2 long days we can tell you Preferred Moving was a huge Blessing to us!! Even with all of the options here in Charlotte, we chose this company out of Hickory. We had a 5 bedroom house plus a storage unit that needed to be moved to a rental, so we really needed a team that had proven to be trustworthy, efficient and reliable. The team came on moving day and was careful to wrap everything. They also did some unexpected packing as we weren't able to finish everything prior to moving day. I usually do not post reviews like this, but feel its important so others will not experience what we did. I will also keep this concise, but I could write pages on the entire debacle of our move. The move was problematic from the start. The men hired did not want to be there, and did not like the boss, nor the company, as they complained about them, and the job itself, the entire day. They smoked from start to end, while holding our furniture, mattresses and other items and both the home that we moved out of, and moved into, smelled like smoke. They used crass and foul language during the entire visit in front of us and our kids. We were told by the main mover in charge, that using TV boxes were a waste and they would carefully package our TVs. Imagine our surprise to see then see them open the moving truck and there were hand trucks laid across them..and of course, they were shattered. One of the young men was playing around with our Peleton bike and dropped it onto a table, shattering the screen, rendering it useless without a $750 replacement screen. I understand that in a move things can break, it happens, but this was pure negligence and the owner of the company couldn't care less to take care of the broken items. Again, this was just a few of the broken items, there were many more. The owner underestimated the size of the truck and therefore it significantly increased the amount of time we needed their services. They ended up having to take apart multiple items (and still didn't fit it all on the truck so my husband had to transport things)..which was on our dime to pay for the time. The 15 minute trip from old to new house, took them nearly an hour..with the one kid arriving telling us he stopped to visit his child on the way..again, on our dime. They also did not put beds back together, attach the mirrors to dressers or do anything else like that, which was part of the job. Two of the men pretty much quit part way through the day and went and sat in the truck. This caused my husband and son to have to step in and assist with completing the job. The men argued and fought with each other constantly which was very uncomfortable. It was completely unprofessional and nothing like I have ever experienced during a move. When I voiced my concerns to the owner more than once that we paid for 4 men per hour, and didn't get that service, it was ignored..again, they couldn't have cared less. They were happy to pocket our money for services not rendered. The men also did nothing to protect our home. They bounced hand trucks down our steps in our home, severely gouged our hardwood floors in many, many places due to not putting padding down. There were scratches and dents in our walls, gouges in our furniture, paint gouged and scuffed, weather stripping torn from our door ways, damage to our refrigerator, etc...you get the point. It goes on and on. Their Facebook page stresses how they will take care of you, make your move less stressful, etc..this could not be further from the truth. I called and emailed the owner more than once to discuss this and and was blown off.. I was actually shocked that they would not do a thing to make this right..but trust me, they won't . Save yourself a lot of money and stress by choosing a different company that actually cares about their customers and will make a stressful experience, a positive one.”

Not on time, did not handle my stuff in a professional manner, tossed my totes to each other from 3rd floor to 2nd got charged $50 for them to package a monitor which looked like it was packaged by a 2 year old. They took numerous cigarette breaks had their lunch on my time my dime. Very disrespectful to my previous landlady who asked them to take it easy on her wood stairs with their dolly but they just kept doing what it as if she said nothing. Not only did they use a dolly which wasn't used for any appliance but for totes other than a mini fridge which I could have carried myself. And also they were so lazy at the end that they couldn't carry a roll of tape or big elastic bands that weigh absolutely nothing that they had to throw them out the window. Also arriving in at my new place my neighbor asked please don't leave back door open and one of the guys he knows who he is said "we're moving in so the door stays open, how do you like that?" Like I said very unprofessional definitely would not recommend this company, although after my complaint I was reimbursed $150 but my quote was$800 for the whole move, but in the end they come out with your total is $1175 which I didn't have I had $1075 and they took that with $150 sent back to me still $125 more than I was told and they treated my belongings like dirt on the ground. I highly recommend you use another company who is true to their word, and to boot they said that was their best crew out there, I'd hate to see their worse crew, and it was only one bad apple who made the crew terrible and yes I have a ton of witnesses between my old residence and new residence on how unprofessional this one guy was. Take your business elsewhere”
