I have moved A LOT. Across states, across towns, and just internal apartment moves. I've moved 4 times in the last 4 years (I switch apartments a lot, ha) and by far Michael with Power Moves has been the ABSOLUTE BEST. I have been in the same apartment building for a few years and have switched units 3 times. On this last move I decided to look around a bit because most movers charge like this: You pay for the time they take to travel to your home from their business, you pay hourly for each mover that is working your move, and then you are obligated to at least a 2-3 hour minimum. Quotes around 1K for 6 hours of work for a 2 bedroom apartment move (in the same building!) are common for this type of move so you should expect that. Power Moves uses the same structure, but, I would say Power Moves beat out the rest of the moving companies in two ways: competitive pricing, and, quick, friendly work! Michael gave me a great price, was accurate in his estimate (no surprise, inflated costs which i experienced before) and moved everything easily. It was my easiest move! One thing I really do want to highlight again is that Michael and his team work very efficiently. The moving company I used previously worked well but spent a lot of time asking me if i wanted things arranged, talking me through set ups/trying different layouts, and I kept feeling the clock ticking. When i pointed it out, they assured me we were on time but in the end, it was about 100 dollars more than I was expecting when all I really needed was for the movers to take the big heavy stuff i couldn't move myself and drop them off in the new unit! Power Moves was great in this regard - I let them know a few things (turn this this way, turn that that way) and it was done very quickly. They even grabbed a few extra things for me (lamps, a few boxes i had packed) and got them up there quick. One note : I did try to have everything ready for them when they arrived, though. That is, i had things boxed and out of the way and the big pieces of furniture had room to move. If you don't do this, expect time to be added as they will have to try to work around any mess you have. Overall, my experience with Power Moves was amazing. They arrived on time and gave me a great deal, they are super friendly and I HIGHLY recommend you use these movers for any type of move, big or small!!!”

I just moved today! Punctuality: They were punctual with the start time which I appreciate. Attitude: They were very nice very communicative, and kind people. Damage to items: They were able to move my entertainment center which is big and irreplaceable because they don't make the model anymore. I wrapped the corners on top and didnt notice any damage. Most of my items are labeled fragile or glass items and for the most part they were moved with care. I heard boxes drop and saw boxes fall over. Maybe carry 1 box at a time or get a roller cart for multiple box carrying? Would insure they don't fall. I really hope nothing is broken inside the boxes. I will be posting pictures after I unpack. As for the furniture, there were scratches and dents on pretty much everything else. A dining room chair leg became loose and scratches all over the legs so I added it to the dump pile. I had to throw away my couch because it wouldn't fit in the door. Thats fine, but bottom line i shouldn't be charged for them not being prepared for the situation. Cleanliness: It would be nice if they wore feet covers but it may be dangerous when lifting heavy items. I requested masks be worn at all times and that didnt happen. I'm immune compromised so it made me uncomfortable so I kept reminding. Payment Communication: Helpful suggestion to tell the client you start charging from when you leave the shop instead of surprising them with the cost of travel right as they pay. Im fine to pay, just give me a heads up so i am prepared for the cost. Also being charged for the items that I had to throw away because they were damaged or couldn't fit in the house just added to the cost of the dump fee that wouldn't of been there in the first place if the items were properly moved. Disappointing to say the least. Experience level: I could tell they were inexperienced movers by lack of organisation, how the items were packed into the truck, and ALL of my furniture has some kind of scratch, chip, or dent. Even my office chair. Dragging heavy furniture over brand new carpet was hard to watch. Now on top of 700 I have to buy a new sofa and replace a dresser and now replace a large desk that i painted myself so its not really ever going to be the same. As for junk removal they should get 5 stars. Fast removal and decent communication. Gratuity: I still tipped them because I believe its important to tip regardless because you never really know what someone is going through. Maybe someone is new or learning a new technique. Moving service: For moving I won't ever use their service again. For junk removal: I would consider them. But most likely would just go through Adam's Moving Company. Even though their price is a little bit higher they break everything down and you dont get surprised by anything. Stay safe everyone! 🙂”
