I contacted several moving companies to transfer my stuff from Tacoma to Omak,Wa. I chose New Horizons because it was the most affordable and offered the move in 1 day. (A lot of other companies would load one day. Store the truck and move it the next day which made me uncomfortable). Scheduling was very straightforward and when I needed to postpone because I got sick they were very flexible. The day of the move the guys were right on time (actually a little early which was awesome), worked efficiently to move my stuff from the storage unit to the truck and then we were on the way. I got a few texts along the route keeping me up to date on their expected arrival time and once they arrived they again worked efficiently to move the stuff from the truck into my new storage unit and we’re very proactive asking where in the unit I wanted things placed. Everything was secured well in the truck and great care was taken so everything made the move on one piece. I can’t compliment them enough except to say if I ever need to move again I wouldn’t hesitate to call them and would recommend them to all my friends and family if ever in the need of a moving company.”

I had a great experience using New Horizons Moving Company. I reached out to multiple moving companies to get bids and New Horizons was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. They were the only ones who offered me a virtual quote, which I appreciated during a pandemic. They arrived on time and ready to work. The only issue I had (which really wasn't a big deal) was that the crew showed up with a third person and I was only quoted for two people. This brought my hourly rate from $100/hr to $125/hr. This didn't bother me and they assured me that they would be able to get the job done in less time than was quoted. The move went well and they did finish an hour earlier than expected. The final bill was $25 more than the quote which I was happy with considering there was another person and it took less time. Overall, I was very happy with my experience with this company and would definitely use them again. Nothing was damaged and they used all the tools to ensure that all my items were handled with care. Everyone I dealt with in the company was fantastic and they are upfront with their pricing. I had an issue with the amount of time it took to move my stuff. Most of my items were already packed in boxes but their trucks (at least the one they used with me) do not have ramps. I had to watch them put boxes on a dolly, roll it up to the truck, unload the dolly to put the boxes in the back, then load it onto another dolly in the bed of the truck, then to roll it to the front. It was painful to watch and it made one of their guys tired within the first 2 hours which caused him to slow down even more. When it was time to unload the truck it was the same process. Load everything on to a dolly, roll it to the back of the truck, unload the dolly, move it to the ground, load it up again on another dolly... but with the new guy now being so exhausted, he might as well have not been there. This process took about 30% longer than it should have because of the extra work required and basically having 1 1/2 guys instead of 2. The only reason they got 3 stars was how quickly they booked the appointment and just how friendly and professional everyone I dealt with was.”

I found his prices were cheaper than the other companies that I called on a by the hour basis, and they were one of only two companies that gave me an estimate for the entire move. The crew arrived on time and were very efficient at moving all my things. They took good care of everything. They were patient with me when I wanted to test out different orientations for where to put the bed, and rugs, etc. It's the end of day one and half my boxes are unpacked, and all my furniture is just where I wanted it. I reminded him of the tight schedule as storage unit destination closed at 5 pm. He stated if they could not be there by 2 he would send another crew. Well, no one came at all. And half a dozen texts and phone calls to check status were not answered. If he had said in early afternoon that they would not make it, I could have called a contingency mover, which I will have to do now. I cannot understand in any way, shape, or form why the messages were not answered. How could this be the same company with the high reviews that caused me to book with them in the first place?”

The lack of customer consideration is astounding. I know you are tired, but that is not my problem. We had arranged for people to be at the pickup location and the drop off. Saturday morning shot. Unreliable, unprofessional, absolutely do not use them if you are looking for a dependable, professional mover. They did not say they would be 45 minutes late - they said they could do it later in the afternoon (pickup was at 10). Had to make other arrangements. Would have waited 45 minutes.”

Warning: if you are moving within the Seattle City area, do not hire this company. They advertise $85./hr. for two men. Though the owner came in person to bid on my 1 mile move (he never asked about the destination). The bid was reasonable (even tho I was to be charged "portal to portal") & this company is in Burian. My $650. move began to increase as the date drew too close to hire someone else. It began with an additional $200. city permit (which turned out to be $230. even though owner, Josh West, assured me that it wouldn't increase more than the additional $200. Upon arriving at the destination there were cars parked in our permit area & though there was a spot where the truck could park (where the apt mgr had pointed out to me that most people park when they move), the driver insisted in calling parking enforcement to tow away the vehicles parked in "our spot". That delay was more than two hours. Though I was given some sort of "discount", my move ended up costing almost a thousand dollars. The owner explained (when I protested) that he didn't know that the move was going to be that difficult (full of twists & turns). One would think it's his JOB to know. Perhaps New Horizons Moving Company is designed for more suburban moves; but they certainly failed my needs. If you're moving within the city, look for a moving company that is based IN the city.”

I just used them today. It was a move from my storage unit to my new house, within a 10 mile distance. It was pretty straight forward, I was given a contract to sign, they started the time 15 minutes prior for the drive to my unit. They loaded up my unit within 2 hours, and as we were leaving, I asked if they wanted to follow me. The owner gentlemen told me "well we haven't had lunch yet so we are gonna get lunch first..." I was confused for a second but I said ok. About an hour later they arrived to unload my belongings into my residence. After that I was given my total hours minus 30 minutes for their lunch. Everything went well. Good news is I didn't have to do any physical labor which was worth it all to me. Also good news, they don't have a minimum amount of hours like every other moving company has, so that was nice.”
