They did not wrap a fragile expensive furniture piece as thoroughly as we hoped, but our fault for not asking to add more padding at the pick up point. Be aware while watching the process and they will be helpful. At our destination they unwrapped the piece while it was in the lobby, we inspected, they rewrapped with tons of padding and took up the elevator. This move, I did have unanticipated issues with the size of the move and how that was negotiated internally.

“ Just had a move completed yesterday, November 10th 2020, with Freddy and his crew. These guys were all great, overly courteous to me, and did extremely fast and careful work on moving all our stuff. It was interesting because the maintenance guy at the building I was leaving gave me an unsolicited comment that this crew moved really quickly. He'd seen a lot of movers go in and out and these guys were dedicated and fast. The move estimate came in at 5.5 hours with 4 people and a quote of $1,058 for a crosstown move. It ended up taking 6.5 hours and $1,260 total plus tips. The extra cost was due to additional materials used over the estimation, plus the extra hour. Honestly the real reason the quote was an underestimate was because I likely underestimated the amount that had to be moved when I submitted for the quote. Be accurate in your estimation and you'll get an accurate quote. Even then, they were still in the ballpark. I strongly recommend New City. This is the third time I've used them, and the fourth time my girlfriend's used them. Freddy and his team did a great job.”

The initial online process to get an estimate was quick and very easy. Anna Troy along with other reps that were involved help get our questions answered quickly and promptly, which I appreciate. “ Terrible connection between the commercial representative and the customer service team. the commercial representative forgot to add a sofa to the list and missed calculating the volumes from the pictures sent. The team arrived there and was not briefed about the places to pick up the items, they took forever to be able to pack things and leave the apartment. They did not go to a different floor to pick up the furniture that was in one level down/(via elevator). During the move the customer service team did not respond to my calls and never called me back to apologize and organize the move. The move was expected to arrive on a Friday, I took the day off at work and the move arrived days later on Monday and I knew 30min before it arrived. One of the items shipped (outdoor table) was not wrapped and handled properly therefore it was badly scratched and no one from New City has responded to my emails about it. Conclusion: DO NOT HIRE THEM YOU WILL HAVE A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WASTE A LOT OF YOUR TIME! PS: the only nice thing was the team who delivered, and they said they were hired and not part of the same company!”
