This is at least the fourth time I've used My Guys over the last 15 years...and the service has always been excellent, the pricing always reasonable, and the process simple. If I'm moving it will always be with My Guys! I really cannot imagine a better more cost-effective moving service existing. Btw, if you are getting quotes be careful about relying too much on the per-hour price. This particular move took 6 hours because the move-out location had a long walk-way. With a less professional - meaning less well equipped and trained - company that could easily have been 8-9 hours, meaning a company with a 20% lower hourly rate would have been the same price but spent two more hours of my time. I've had friends get the "lowest price" moving company only to regret it when the hours rack up, the truck isn't big enough, they don't have shrink wrap and moving blankets for all the furniture, they don't have enough dollys, etc. Stick with My Guys and you'll always be satisfied!”

I don't know where to start. We had a multi-day move that involved emptying a 12,000 sq ft house, another house on the property full of furniture, and also another building full of furniture. I won't go into all of the details but it had to be one of the most complicated and grueling moves. It involved a million surprises and required an experienced and flexible group of movers (five in total). My Guys Moving were truly unbelievable. They were incredibly professional, upbeat, and had an amazing work ethic. On the last day of the move, the men had to work a 12 hour day because the closing was the same day and everything had to be emptied out. Even at 7 o'clock at night, they came back to our house to empty out contents in a barn we had not realized were there. I can't imagine other companies going to the lengths that this company did. And a big thanks to Will who headed the move and was a pleasure. And of course the entire team.... a big thanks!”

I have used My Guys Moving & Storage for several moves over the years. At this point, I don't even bother reaching out to other providers as the service and price can't be beat. Moving can be stressful enough as it is, but by using My Guys the actual move doesn't have to be one of them. They are always reliable and attentive to your needs and schedule. My most recent experience, and the reason for this review, is no exception. This move was scheduled for a friend whose buddies backed out on him two days before the move was to take place and couldn't afford movers on his own. A quick call with My Guys and Joe had everything all set. On moving day, the guys were on time (a little early), courteous, and attentive to my friends needs as he had never used professional movers before. They handled his furniture and boxes as if it were their own. They finished well ahead of what I had anticipated. Since you pay by the hour, after the two hour minimum, the move was nearly half of what I had budgeted for. These guys certainly are there to do the work and not eat up the clock. That has not been my experience with others who have a three hour minimum and higher hourly rate after that. I can't recommend My Guys Moving & Storage highly enough. These guys are the best in the area.”

My Guys Moving did an outstanding job both this move and our move three years ago. We packaged and moved all of our smaller items and then used My Guys Moving for our larger furniture pieces / heavier boxes. Every moved item was thoroughly secured and shrink wrapped and the apartment moved from / house moved into were taken care of and unmarred. After every moved item was unloaded, the crew walked the house with us and made sure that everything was where we wanted it. This company is seriously overpriced. They moved all my furniture on the first floor so the hardwood floors could be refinished. They charged $175 to move my studio piano (on wheels) 10 feet into another room. The total charge for moving the furniture into one room was $970. It took them two hours and then they charged for travel time. I found another company to put things back and they charged $197. I have no complaints about their work habits or punctuality. There are other companies out there, just as good, for much less. I feel like I was taken advantage of.”

I did not receive the service that I expected. They arrived and the loading dock was occupied by a tiny uhaul van (it's a first come first serve loading dock) so they hesitated and stood around for a while even though there was still plenty of space in the loading dock for them to bring stuff from my place to the truck. That truck was parked right next to the loading dock. Didn't require much heavy lifting since there was an elevator very close by. Then they waited too long starring at their phones that it started pouring down rain so then that became their excuse for not being able to start. Finally they started after I complained saying there's a limited amount of time that I have reserved for the elevator at the new apartment. Then after they took one load of boxes they didn't return for almost an hour. They finally came back and said the loading dock was available so they had a hard time pulling in the truck and they were sorry. Not sure why they brought a giant truck sized for a single family home move when I told them it was for a studio apartment move. It took them almost 2 hours to take my stuff out of the studio apartment minus the time they disappeared parking the truck at the loading dock. But to unload at the new apartment with the same set up it took them 30 minutes. I guess because it was already dark and they wanted to go home they did the job efficiently like they should have at the beginning. They also made me sign a document at the end in front of their face saying that I would recommend them to others which was very awkward. I do not recommend this company for moving unless you want to pay them unnecessarily for hours that they didn't even do any work.”

We were doing a cross town move (Great Falls to Vienna) so we wanted the cost of the move to be economical. I called My Guys and immediately they reached out and got an adjuster out to our home. Austin was polite, professional, and honest with the cost, hours, and available dates for the move. I loved how the associated costs were broken down by dates (weekends being slightly higher than weekdays), do it yourself packing or professional, and bulky/breakable items (we had two glass tables), and insurance. We choose a weekday and do it yourself. The great part was that you can borrow boxes from them (you just go to pick up yours at their warehouse) tobreduce the cost. The movers showed up slightly early and that was perfect for us. The move was easy, efficient, and you call to get the boxes picked up after you are done! Easy from start to finish!”

We were in need of a moving company for my elderly mother. Our mother is in her late 80's so finding someone she trusted was very difficult to say the least. Once she spoke with the team at My Guys Moving there was no question that she was going with them. She was very stern that she only had an 8 hour window to be loaded, moved, furniture set back up and living in her new place. Well they exceeded her exceptions and had everything done with an hour to spare. She watched their every move and made sure things went where she wanted them, that her bed was set back up and able to sleep for the night. The 3 man team were always very professional, patient as saints, listening her every request and actually had her smiling the entire time. Now she had a lot of antiques and let me say they double wrapped them and not a thing was damaged / broken. She was pleased beyond belief!! I have seen My Guys trucks on the road and heard about them around town for years so when we finally moved in April 2020, I was thrilled to have a chance to use them. Moving day went smoothly - all the movers were efficient and in great spirits the whole day. We had absolutely no issues with them during the course of the day and tipped them accordingly when they left. Unfortunately, we found out during the unpacking process that they were not as great as they seemed. A very expensive office chair had been completely broken during moving and we were not informed of it. To make matters worse, they hid it at the back of a room so other things had to be unpacked before finding it. Also, two of our beds (yes TWO) were put together incorrectly. When my husband and I got in our bed that evening, the whole right side crashed to the floor. We had to drag the mattress to the floor and sleep there...not exactly the sleeping experience we were hoping for after an exhausting day of moving. When we looked at it the next day, the stabilizing bars had just been placed in the slats, they weren’t even screwed in. The exact same scenario happened to our guest bed the night after. I am very disappointed in this company, more for the fact that they were not honest and upfront about things. When you trust a company with all your belongings, you expect them to be HONEST, trustworthy, and careful. Three ideals I am sorry to say, this company does not uphold. I will not use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone else.”

From the very beginning of this process, Tony Wilson of My Guys walked us through a plan for making the move efficient and easy, despite the restrictions of the COVID-19 environment. His tips for staging items to be moved, and labelling and boxing items for best delivery and setup, made the process as stress-free as possible on both ends of the move. My move had been too big for some movers, too small for others but My Guys Movers took a look at the job and said it was no problem. We moved my bakery from our temporary location to our new permanent location. MGM accepted delivery of our new double-wide fridge from the manufacturer and delivered it straight to the new bakery on moving day. Kenny and his team were speedy and even showed up early on moving day. It got a little comical watching Jose A., Jose G., Ramon, and Whitmore attempt to get my fridge up a flight of stairs, turn it on a landing, and push it into our space, but they didn't flinch at the task and were professional the whole way through despite (I'm sure) it being not on their list of favorite jobs. Used their service to store our furniture while our house was put on the market and also tried to have them move everything cross country. Once they had our things in storage they quoted outrageously high price for the move. I found many other companies who could do the job for 40% less !! They lost various things in the process of moving from my house into storage. Bed legs. Sofa legs. Who leaves one leg on the sofa and removes five legs ? Broken bed post . I cannot recommend My Guys Moving. Yes, you will read positive reviews, and yes, if no issues arise, it may be fine. However, if an issue does come up, they likely will NOT take responsibility based on our experience with the company. We were moving into a new construction home that had just been inspected. Stairs were in perfect, brand new condition. They damaged our hardwood stairs. Accidents happen, we understood, and assumed it would be handled professionally. First they tried to deny it, then said we "can't prove they did it," and then offered us $100 as long as we signed a release not to share the experience with others. Our estimates for repair were $600 and $750. We said we did not think $100 was a fair offer and they then proposed splitting the repair cost and offered $300. Still not a fair offer when the damage they caused would cost a minimum of $600 to repair. In response to our BBB complaint, they claimed they determined they did cause half the damage (though never previously communicated this to us). They are admitting they caused half of the dents and scratches but denying the other half apparently despite the dents and scratches all being consistent with one another and all in the same vicinity. Sadly, the CEO just did not bother to even reply to me when I tried to discuss and find a resolution with him. We were disappointed with the complete lack of responsibility, communication, and professionalism with respect to our situation. I was shocked. Check the BBB and MyMovingReviews and you will see a pattern. I wish I had looked there before. Save yourself the risk of the added stress and expense in the event damage or any other issue should occur.”

We used My Guys for our move from Burke, VA to Charlottesville, VA. The crew (4 guys) showed up promptly on 4/7 (window was 8-9 AM and they were here at 8:30) and efficiently packed up a 3 level townhouse, deck furniture, grill, and outdoor stuff (plus a storage unit in different location) in about 6 hours. Though we had packed most of our stuff, their crew packed up additional lamps, wine (yes, wine), clothes, tools, etc... On Wednesday, 4/8, the crew (5 guys) showed up early in the delivery window (10-12, and they were there at 10:30) and unloaded everything in 4 hours. Disassembled furniture was reassembled and placed where we wanted it. Re-creating our new living space is much easier because Henry and his crew understood our instructions to a "T". I would definitely used "My Guys" again. Having moved many times, including overseas, this is how an operation ought to be run. Kudos and thanks…”

My best move experience yet. I have moved a LOT! Mostly local moves plus two longer distance moves. This was my first time using My Guys and I was super impressed. I looked on Yelp for reviews and received quotes from 5 different companies. My Guys insisted on coming out to provide their quote so that it would be accurate. Even with the pandemic, I agreed since my history with moving is that it's always more than they estimate. (And infuriating watching teams move slowly and take long breaks when you're paying a high hourly fee.) So Joe came out, wearing a mask, being very polite and professional. Took a tour of the place and gave me a quote. There was no hard push to buy the extras (like insurance, packing, boxes, etc.) but made me aware they were available. They absolutely were NOT the cheapest quote. However, I assumed at least theirs was accurate so if they came in higher it was probably what the others were going to end up at anyway. Also, I want companies to pay their staff better wages so if their guys are better paid than others, I'm in. They did not disappoint. Team REUBEN showed up on time. Got their truck situated at my apartment so as not to annoy other tenants. Offered to wrap the apartment so they didn't bump into walls, etc which I told him was not necessary. These guys worked hard -- constantly moving, quickly and efficiently. They seemed to be respectful of the fact that I was paying hourly. They wrapped all furniture in blankets and then plastic wrap. I probably didn't do a great packing job so there were many random things around that still needed to get thrown in a box and they took care of that. Wrapped TVs, mirrors, etc. perfectly so there would be no damage. At the new house they literally rolled out the red carpet to protect my rugs and floors and continued at a good steady pace, situating furniture to perfection. Ruben's ideas of where to place furniture were better than mine as he also works on a team that stages houses. The actually cost came out LESS than the estimate which has NEVER happened to me before. I did bring quite a few odds and ends to the new place previously so I'm sure that was part of the reason. But bottom line is that you won't find anyone that does it better ... and the estimates are clearly right on and reasonable, but won't be the lowest you'll get.”

The crew that packed us out worked hard to whisk through the house, and didn't bat an eye when there was a miscommunication and they learned they needed to provide an additional service they hadn't planned for. My Guys stored our goods for 9 months, so I got to work with the storage side and accounting, too. Then, we received our things 10 hours away, delivered to a much smaller home in an urban neighborhood. Two guys unloaded, unpacked and reassembled our lives into our new place. The guys came prepared and were quick and took care not to damage anything. They also had a good sense of humor too.
