If I could give this company zero stars I would. I booked with a guy named Shane who insured me that the process would be smooth and seamless. Once he got my deposit he would not answer any texts or calls. The movers then called to say that they didn't know if they could come pick up my things on the date that was in our contract. The woman that works their front desk, Phyllis yelled at me over the phone several times and even went so far as to hang up on me when I questioned when my movers would be arriving. The only time she was somewhat nice was when she was asking for my credit card information. The movers ended up being 3 hours late to pick my things up. They were nice but not informative whatsoever. Upon arriving at my next location the movers showed up on time but tried to charge me an extra $300 because they would have to walk to get to the elevator with my stuff. This charge was never explained to me upon picking up my items or in my original call with Shane. They moved something that wasn't even mine into my room and lost 4 of my boxes. When I called to figure out how to locate my boxes, Phyllis told me I would never see my things again. This has been the most stressful process. I would not under any circumstances book with this company. There is a reason they have low prices. They are terrible!!!!!”

Our contract from a broker that we didn't even know we were using to hire Chicago moving company charges a down payment then in the contacted said that they would pick up our stuff in either June 25th or 26th. They didn't show up till the 27th so my contract was broken then then the movers came to our house and they were pretty nice they packed our stuff and put it on the truck except for the fact that one of them offered us drugs. So here it is July 22nd and our stuff still isn't here they said it has to be here by the 24th it was 15 business days from pick up I'm constantly on the phone I've spoken with Phyllis several times I heard that the guy above hers name is Shy but for some reason I can never get him on the phone. I ask what Warehouse my stuff was in so that if this was a problem I would just get somebody to pick it up they Dodge my questions no one is telling me where my stuff is here it is two days before my stuff supposed to be here I've received no email and no phone call. People just stop talking to me. I've contacted the Attorney General's office the Better Business Business Bureau and I have also found out that I can file a report with the local police department both in Chicago and where I live in South Carolina. Phyllis raise the price of our drop off by $60 and said that the guy who did the pick up miscalculated and I told her that's her problem because I have a written contract with the amount for a drop off. So here it is I'm still waiting to hear something about my stuff and I let them know I took pictures of everything I know exactly what I have. And then if you Google this company again a big red box comes up and says this company is under investigation that you can't write anymore reviews I actually took a picture of it. Posted a picture of this company is under investigation. Just so u no. The Skokie police department, the attorney generals office and the BBB are investigating them.”

I was a little scared after reading all the bad reviews. My personal experience was much better. I was shipping my stuff from MN to CA. They gave me a very good price for service (some other companies were ridiculously expensive), and they delivered exactly what they promised. They showed up exactly on time when picking up, gave me a time frame for delivery (~15 business days), and delivered with everything in a good condition. Although only one guy showed up while delivering, he didn't complain and unloaded everything himself (with a little bit of help from me). Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend to anybody.”

Not only did they deliver my belongings a month late, they lost my mattress, a rug, and broke my kitchen table. I could not get a hold of them to make a claim, so I’m basically out hundreds of dollars. When they did decide to pick my stuff up from my house, they were three days late with no notice. Reasons - the call center never works only if it is new sales they pickup for any other option they don't. also they are not actual moving company by them they give it to multiple agents - the one who delivers at home don't have a clue how many items and all promises they do it are just fake when you place an order . they say all items that we pack we are responsible , but at end they say it is not in agreed and you will never get any refund or support . I scheduled for my things to be delivered and they gave me a 14 day window... we are now 5 days past that 14 day window and my stuff hasn’t even left the warehouse and no one knows when it will leave the warehouse. They use third parties to transport your stuff. We were delayed about 1 month, wasted many hours trying to track our stuff down. When we finally received our items some were damaged, and lost. They "misplaced our big screen TV values over $600. Pretty sure they sold it. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND USE SOMEONE ELSE. Trust me- we still don't have our TV and a few other items. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! THEY INTENTIONALLY DECEIVE AND MISLEAD THEIR CUSTOMERS. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3b cancer and we had to relocate to Florida. The original "binding quote" with our delivery address on the 2nd floor was a competitive price and we paid the non-refundable deposit. They arrived to load the moving truck and the price more than doubled. Our box and furniture count were exactly what we were quoted. I SHOULD HAVE MADE THEM TAKE EVERYTHING OFF THE TRUCK. They called on Monday, October 29 and told us they were delivering on Wednesday. They then called back and informed us they were delivering on Tuesday and would arrive between 3:00 and 5:00. If we weren't ready they were charging us a delay charge. They arrived on Tuesday shortly after 3:00PM and refused to unload the truck until we paid them in full. They were charging us more than the quote they gave us the day before because we were on the 2nd floor. They were going to unload the heavy stuff and leave it on the street. There was also an additional charge because they would not be done before 5:00PM. THEY MOVED THE DELIVERY UP A DAY AND SCHEDULED IT BETWEEN 3:00 and 5:00PM we didn't change the time. Obviously this is something they do frequently to price gouge their customers. Every time I called to complain they said it doesn't matter what we told you the only thing that matters is what is in the contract. They refused to move the boxes into our new home. They refused to assemble the items they took apart for the move. They went to our neighbors and knocked on the door and asked for water and to use their bathroom. They refused to let me inspect the truck to make sure everything was off. This was absolutely the worst move we have ever had ever. DO NOT USE THEM.”

This was the worst experience we've ever had dealing with a company of any kind. Our household belongings were transferred to 4 different trucks. We had over 60 boxes 53 of them had severe damage. We packed everything in bubble wrap inside of moving boxes and sealed with tape but it didn't matter. They stack things high in the truck and do not restrain them so it looked like things were just thrown around or dropped very a very high level. When you have a 2 piece 5 drawer tool box smashed so bad that the drawers don't open somethings wrong by the way there were many tools missing.. Large Weber grills look like someone jumped on it. We asked were a few furniture pieces were (expensive EAMES chair & table) and they said they'd have to back to the other truck to find them, thankfully they did but the table was destroyed. one box of wine glasses was so smashed that you couldn't tell what they had been. Hidden costs for transferring things between trucks and charges for packing things which amounted to wrapping a packing blanket around it and taping. I'm writing this in hopes to save others grief and heartbreak. They have very poor communication and you never know who you'll talk too. If you use them you better get insurance for everything at replacement value because you are going to need it.”

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IGNORING THE BAD REVIEWS HERE DON'T. IF YOU ARE GOING THROUGH A BROKER AND THEY TELL YOU THAT THEY'VE BOOK MY CHICAGO MOVING...CANCEL IT ASAP. We reluctantly went forward with this company after our moving broker, Excalibur booked these incompetent dweebs to move our belongings across the country. Everything was packed in either a home depot moving box or a hard plastic tote and they completely obliterated all of the boxes. On top of that, 1/3 of our belongings were missing and another 1/4 of our items were damaged beyond repair. They even cut open sealed totes to toss random items into it. YOUR BELONGINGS WILL SWITCH HANDS MULTIPLE TIMES. What they don't tell you is that they pick up your stuff, take it to a warehouse, drive it part way, put it on another truck, drive it part way, and then put it in another truck and take it to your new destination. They likely lost/damaged things with each transition. All in all, we suffered over $4,000 in damages and after SIX MONTHS of fighting and escalating with different claims insurance companies we finally managed to get a check cut for HALF of what we lost. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER x10000000 book a move with My Chicago Moving or All Around Vans. This company constantly goes in and out of business.”

This company seems to be an affiliate of Olympia Moving Company out of Chicago. I am leaving a review here as well because I had three names on my forms from My Chicago Moving, Olympia Moving and Atlantic Van Lines. I assume they have a number of parent companies operated by the same people. Regardless, it makes tracking your billing changes incredibly difficult because the "people" who move you may not be the ones making the delivery. Also as a note My Chicago Moving is currently suspended from interstate travel based on the Federal DOT website so not sure what's happening there. In short - these guys are super unprofessional, don't care about taking care of your belongings and will scam you with up charges at every turn (more detail below). Not to mention my credit card information "ironically" was stolen shortly after their driver took my card information, because their system was "down". I would not do business with these guys at all cost. The lead mover was extremely unprofessional, pushy, and tried to up-charge me on everything from the time that he arrived. I was told the company could not accept credit cards because their system was "down" despite having this stated explicitly in my contract. Instead of working with me to resolve the issue, the movers were instructed to go to the next job and came back 4 hours later in the evening to finish my job. Overall I got my belongings, 2 weeks late, most of my new boxes were demolished indicating they didn't take caution in moving the shipment. Technically they "moved" my belongings but there has to be better options out there. I wouldn't advise anyone to use these guys.”
