Moves Made Simple Reviews

★★★★★
We had neighbors refer us to Moves Made Simple after having used them several times with great results. We were not disappointed! Katie was very responsive in getting an estimate together and getting questions answered. She worked to coordinate with the moving company we hired - they work together often. Packing day, the girls showed up and thoughtfully and efficiently packed the house while labeling everything. Moving day, the girls showed up midday once the movers were about halfway and started the unpack. They were super efficient again and were very responsive on where to put everything (we downsized a bit, so it was a little bit complicated). Their efforts removed so much stress from the process, I cannot even describe it. We have moved several times over the past few years and this was by far our best experience. If you are on the fence on whether to do a full or partial unpack... do it. Moving will never be easier (especially with kids!). We really couldn't have asked for a better experience and would use them again in a heartbeat. We would also recommend them to anyone who asks. Great value and great service - hard to beat.

★★★★★
Katie is great! She's just the right person to come in and get the job done for your personal or business move. And even though "moves" is in the name the reason Katie and I first had to talk was about organizing. And boy can she help! Anything from putting a few simple processes in order to restoring sanity for someone who's a hoarder. She has a very gentle approach and is willing to put in the time in to understand you and your moving and organization needs. I would recommend her to any of my friends. Katie is the right woman for the job…

★★★★★
I hired Katie to help me de-clutter my office. I am supposed to work from home, but was going to my office in Lynnwood, more than working from home because my home office was such a mess. 1 large garbage bag to the shredder and two large bags to the local Church rummage sale and I can now work effectively from home. We worked together for three hours and Katie was awesome. Thanks Katie, I'll have you back when I'm ready to tackle the attic!

★★★★★
I love my grandparents. But, they have lived in their home for forty years, and frankly I would not know where to begin if I had to get them ready for a move. Thankfully, there is Katie! Her story of how she got into the business is inspiring and helps bring home how detailed she is with the whole process.

I'll never move again without Moves Made Simple's help. They know exactly what needs to happen, and when, are very professional, bring all the supplies that might be needed, transparent about fees and delightful to work with. I can tell you that they pack safely, label carefully, coordinate with the mover and communicate clearly. They unpacked me at my new place, completely organized my kitchen, bed and bathroom. At days end I fell into my already made bed and felt very clever to have found these folks.

Having Katie help me unpack and organize my new place was such a wonderful experience. She and her assistant were quick, efficient and provided great value for the surprisingly low price spent. She has an awesome sense of what to put where so she's a perfect consultant to get a new place optimized from day one. She even hung pictures, and did that well too. On top of everything else, Katie is a nice person to have around in the middle of a stressful moving experience. Best move ever because of her.

We had a friend recommend Katie and her team and after hearing her story, hiring Katie was a no brainer! The move was so organized, efficient, and easy on us. I would use her again in a second and have already recommended her to other friends.

I'm so glad we chose Katie and the other lovely ladies at Moves Made Simple. We're remodeling and needed help getting stuff packed. They were exactly what we needed. Great people, super professional, and super nice. They came prepared with all the supplies they needed, but were also happy to use the supplies we already had first. Also, we're both very sentimental about our stuff and my husband has a hard time with change. Their kindness and organization made this process as painless and stress -free as it could be.

If you've ever lost a loved one or have the difficult task of downsizing or organizing an estate, you know how important it is to work with trusted professionals. Katie at Moves Made Simple was recommended to me by a couple of friends, so I thought we'd be in good hands. My sisters and I were in the process of dealing with our mother's estate in Medina. I met with Katie so she could give us a bid. She was very professional and her services and fees seemed fair. She also recommended that we work with one of her partners, Alan Goldwasser of Big Algie Consignment, in selling our mother's valuables and collectibles. We didn't end up working directly with Katie (my sisters voted for doing the Goodwill runs ourselves) but we did engage with Alan, mostly based on Katie's recommendation. This is where things went south. Alan took a couple of carloads of our mother's valuables, claiming that he would sell them at auction or retail. His contract stated that he would either take 65% of net retail/online sales or 35% of net auction sales (fine) but then he never provided any receipts or even the slightest bit of transparency about where he was selling our mother's things or what they had sold for. He seemed proud of the fact that he didn't keep records and liked to group various clients' valuables together. When I asked for some vary basic business transparency, Alan was evasive and pointed the finger back at Katie. When I raised my concerns with Katie, and let her know that this was a really big deal, especially since we had a probated estate that was likely being flagged by the IRS, I fully expected her to join me in a BBB and AG complaint and stop referring Big Algie Consignment to her clients, but instead, she defended Alan Goldwasser: "I have worked with Alan and others like him for years. Honestly the other 'collectors' I work with aren't any more specific. These collectors sell through such a large variety of outlets (online, auction, popup shops, ongoing clients, etc) unlike a regular retail store. It is truly a different world and pricing is subjective based on what the market will bear. Alan runs a small business and he told me of this situation awhile ago. In his telling, I felt he tried to be accommodating and I would hope that you take into consideration how filing a complaint against him would jeapordize his business." So there you have it. I wrote once more to Katie providing specific examples of the fraud and never heard back from her. I take no pleasure in writing any of this. Katie lives in my neighborhood and we frequently pass each other at the park while walking our dogs and we have several friends in common. But I have given this a lot of thought. What Alan Goldwasser of Big Algie Consignment did to our family (and likely many other families who are in a similar situation of trying to downsize and deal with their estates) is not OK. It's fraud and it's theft and I am baffled why Katie is rushing to his defense. The only thing I can do now is shed some light on this situation in the hopes that other families don't fall prey to the same scam.
