DO NOT USE! I hired Michaels for a cross country move a year ago and it has been a nightmare. They were late with delivery and they had subcontracted the job to third party movers, which I was not given notice of. When these 2 totally unprofessional guys showed up one was old and could barely lift anything, and the other was a young kid with no experience. My husband and I ended up doing most of the heavy lifting ourselves. Our furniture arrived with nearly $20,000 in damages and Michales has been so impossible to work with in resolving this issue. Their "insurance" company Anthem (which is actually more like a review board that recommends course of action to Michael's) sent me through so many hoops submitting a claim. After the "not to exceed" 90-day response period was up after I filed the claim, and I had been following up with Anthem for weeks, they told me they could not process my claim due to failure by Michaels to pay its bills. At that point I got in contact with Michael's who told me they moved to another insurance provider and would reprocess the claim through them. I continually followed up with Michaels, having NO idea whose hands my claim was in at that point. Heard nothing, and no response for several more weeks. Then Anthem (the original provider) sent me the letter that they would recommend Michaels award me $294.00. I was in shock.Their recommended settlement amount did not even cover reimbursement for the repair quotes I was forced to get for the claim, which were explicitly guaranteed to be reimbursed. It was time consuming, frustrating and the most asinine experience. Over a year later I have been pushing and pushing for a resolution, and still have no answers. I have finally gotten a lawyer involved and will continue to push and take legal action. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. They damage property, they are not transparent in their pricing or procedures and they are totally unresponsive. Do not use these guys. Trust me, they are far from the only game in town and I just hope it catches up to them eventually. Highly unprofessional. Dealing with Michael's is a nightmare and they do a bad job. Look elsewhere!!”

I moved locally this summer with Michael's Moving and Storage. This is the fourth time I have hired movers to move to/from/within the Boston area, all with different companies. Unfortunately, my experience with Michael's Moving and Storage was the worst of the four. The Good: The movers arrived on time, completed the move in a timely manner, and were generally very professional. The Bad: Once paid my deposit, it was very difficult to get in touch with a representative by phone. While the movers wore masks for the duration of the move, they had the masks pulled down below their noses most of the time. The movers did not treat my possessions with care (see photos for examples) -- they lost several items, including a ladder and small rug, which were picked up but not delivered. Nearly every item of furniture with handles/knobs was delivered with at least one missing or broken knob. Overall, my furniture was much more banged up than in previous moves (even though past moves required a lot more stairs). Finally, the pricing for the move was not transparent. I had a 24hr gap between my leases and they told me they could do this with a $150 overnight fee. But there were actually several additional charges associated with slitting the move over two days -- none of which were included in their initial quote. Although I asked for a conservative quote for the move (I was moving for work and needed the charges pre-approved for reimbursement), the final cost of my move exceeded the estimate, despite the move requiring less time than expected. Many of the extra fees tacked on the price were due to "company policy" and thus easily could (and should) have been reflected in the initial quote. I will not use Michael's Moving and Storage again and I would not recommend them to a friend.”

The sales rep was professional and promised what I wanted, however the movers esp the supervisor was too much rushed, then just somehow threw the things in the closet did not help move part of the kitchen and left.
