Great for moving stuff locally, but not so great moving stuff long distance. The delivery of my sister's furniture was several days late and they kept coming up with excuses. They told my sister the last time around that the driver's truck broke down on a Friday and wouldn't be fixed until Monday. My sister asked the truck drive where his truck broke down and he said "What??" She told him what Pam at Merchant's had told her and he said "well, they lied to you, because my truck never broke down". It makes me wonder it the other excuses they gave us were also lies.”

Merchants was hired to load a trailer for a cross country move. Labor was needed to load the trailer of already-packed boxes and furniture, disassemble bedding, and to box up a few other items such as the computer electronics. When the trailer reached it's destination in VA there were NUMEROUS pieces of furniture with HUGE gashes, scratches, etc. My mother was devastated. Her husband had passed in May at which time she decided to move back home to VA. She has been through a lot what with the first moving company stiffing her for thousands of dollars and never showing up and then this happens to her furniture. I feel so sorry for all that she has gone through. Merchants did a HORRIBLE job protecting her furniture when packing the trailer......HORRIBLE. They might be okay for a local move about town but they paid no attention to the fact that mom's stuff was traveling across the country. No attention to detail. These are some pics of just some of the items damaged.”
