“ Avoid this company like Covid. Total scam artists and cons. We were quoted for $1500 by the company before our move. My wife did a in-depth inventory to them of everything to move. She actually padded her estimate with extra boxes so we would be under the estimate too. The company says their movers move fast. Well not the day after Halloween. They were about 30 minutes late because of their movers were too hungover to go to work. The ones that did come were hungover, slow, and falling all over the place. Before the move started, the lead mover told my wife since we had less items than the quote, it would be only $1200. Wtf. Our final bill was 1875. Not only that but they destroyed our bush in the front lawn and then tried to hide it by throwing the evidence away in the green trash can. They broke items like a super expensive lamp. They also hit the corner wall with heavy furniture and didn't mention that either. We reached out about the damage and got a dumb college kid on the phone that said to fix the wall was only $30 bucks of material at Wal Mart. He basically said it was only $30 and your problem. We filed an insurance claim with the company and still haven't heard anything back about the broke items and house damage 10 weeks later. The movers and the people that run it are extremely unprofessional. Don't use them. So unprofessional. With everything going on in the world, this company just ended up adding a ton more stress into our lives.”

They were hustling from the start and getting the boxes loaded. They took great care to protect my furniture and get it moved. “ Unfortunately I have had to move about 5 or 6 times in the last 6 years. Each time Meathead Movers-- San Luis Obispo, CA were used. Are they excellent OMG YES. Caring YES, HELPFUL YES. We had a few very expensive computer builds that we did not want loaded onto a moving truck, but rather put into our vehicles. “ If I could leave negative stars for my experience with Meathead Movers I would do so. Where to begin? Was told 5 men would show up at 10 with appropriate materials to safely transport antique Tiffany Mirrors, occupied Japan 1930's advertisement framed art. In fact I was told they wouldn't transport the framed art in picture boxes (because they didn't have any) but rather wrap them the way they knew they should be transported. Pls see picture of broken , one of a kind, professionally framed antique poster. Many items broken, a Bose stereo system rendered worthless due to how they transported it. I have sent multiple pics & e mails to the company with no resolve! I was quoted $1,300 minimum with a maximum of $2,600 & they ran my card for $2,900! I was bullied by the "Athlete " Movers. Threatened they would take my belongings in the truck to the facility & I would be charged for the overnight stay of my items . The time they spent asking me what went could have been better served moving the boxes previously professionally packed & in the hallway for them to take to the truck. I witnessed the crew in the parking lot tossing my boxes as if they were a football. I have video of the "Team" driving erratically with my belongings on their truck. It wasn't at all what I was led to believe would be a professional moving experience. I was also told by the young man who broke the antique vintage adv poster it was a mere $10.00 fix. I can't get management to return my call or e mails therefore if u have personal knowledge of the individuals who own & operate said company I would appreciate contact!”

“ Meathead Movers was recommended by our realtor when we had to move in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic. We were wary of a complicated hourly rate because we had twice been scammed by an hourly mover and an hourly handiman. But we began to get confidence when at least they kept in touch. The other local movers seemed inconvenienced by our move or didn't return calls. Things were shutting down all over town but the movers kept their promise, arrived on time and worked hard. Their mentor, "Leo" I think was his name, did a great job and kept everything very professional. The move was completed in less time than we thought and almost everything was delivered without incident. The only issue was an old wall clock that we found out later was missing some of the parts. It was an old piece that we probably should have pre-packed ourselves. But in the end, we got everything in the house and were very happy. The only other small issue is that they would not hook up or washer and dryer so we had to wait another week before we could wash clothes. They said it was because they were not plumbers. Neither were we. Overall, we would recommend them for 3 reasons: They showed up like they said. They charged what their estimated time would be and not the top amount. They worked hard.”

And the Meathead Movers themselves were great. Worth every penny I paid for them. BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE PACKERS. They didn't use the boxes that we already had like they said they would. They were supposed to use them first. Instead they used huge boxes and charged me through the nose. Despite being told what we would and would not want packed they still managed to pack up garbage instead of real items, packed things we specifically requested they not pack, and didn't pack some items that we specifically requested they pack. They actually packed some empty Kleenex boxes that needed to be tossed, and failed to pack a multi-pack of Kleenex boxes that was unopened. The packing portion we will never use again. The movers we might, but the packers, no. Incredibly disappointed. And at a time when we're having to move out-of-state because of the high cost, having lost my father six months ago, and me being disabled it has made our day more trying not less.”

“ I was very disappointed with the actual move service. Meathead does a great job up front but really dropped the ball which cost me a lot of extra money. They promised to send a 24 ft truck and then showed up with a 15 ft truck. This required the movers to rearrange the load three times. At one point there didn't seem to be a lot of activity so I went in the apartment and one mover was just standing there and he told me he was waiting for the other guy, who was rearranging the load by himself. My estimation is that the small truck cost me at least 30 minutes extra (30 min. for 2 movers = 1 man hour at approx. $200/hr.) They charged me almost $900 to move a one bedroom apartment with nothing from the kitchen. The move was less than 5 miles. Also, don't buy the insurance. They automatically include it, they don't explain it well and it's expensive. I will never use them nor recommend them.”

“ I have moved countless times in the last ten years, from a 3 story house to a studio apartment, etc. this his is by far the best moving company ever! I had a very last minute move when I didn't find out my roommate didn't pay (I paid him, he paid the building) the rent, and I only found out from the building manager (not him) until the 25th of the month, and we were already in the eviction process. They were so helpful in every way, including being able to fit me into there busy schedule. My boss has used them a few times, with no problems, and he has some expensive art a a lot of framed photography, no problems ever. I always like to use local businesses when possible and so glad I did. My experience with the typical well known companies such as Atlas, etc. was no where near as pleasant or inexpensive. “ DON'T USE MEATHEAD IF YOU VALUE YOUR THINGS! I am a local Realtor and have always recommended Meathead movers to my clients, friends and family. Recently, my husband, mother in law and I moved from Thousand Oaks to Longmont, CO. We were excited to have Meathead come and load up our three trucks with our 4,000 square ft home. The guys arrived late on a Sunday and the excuse was that lead guy had called in sick. They had to put together a team and during the truck loading, one guy was sick and left. They added another person and we had 6-7 guys throughout the day and late into the evening. By the end, they were literally throwing things in the trucks to get them off of the driveway. When our trucks arrived in Colorado, we were all shocked at the damage to our precious things! The unloading team took plenty of photos as they pulled the broken furniture out of the trucks. Couches and chairs black from insufficient wrapping, dining tables in pieces, our brand new Pottery Barn, leg snapped off! Called Meathead immediately and they told us of the claim filing procedure. We filed a claim for our $10,000 in damages and we just received a letter from them telling us that we had signed off on any liability at the job and that they were not reimbursing for us one penny! Shocked and so disappointed! Don't use Meathead.”

“ I have used Meathhead movers several times in the past but yesterday was the most horrible moving experience of my life. First they showed up half hour late. Their covid 19 protection was a joke. One mover was wearing a mask that looked like it had been used several times and had color spots of red and black all over it. The other mover was wearing a mask very loosely. It took them 3 hours to load a truck when everything was already packed and ready to go. Only some disassembly of a few tables was required. Half way during the move they tell me that their truck won't fit the items and that we would need to run two trips. I scrambled with the storage company that accomodated us to a bigger unit which however had elevator. It took them another 3 hours to unload the items. They did not arrange my stuff the way I asked so I could have access to it. They just dumped everything on top of everything else. I spoke to a moving coordinator who offered to send a truck on the next day to complete the move. When I called back to finalize the time 30 minutes later I was told that the coordinator had left for the day and that they had no movers available the following day. Since I need to return the keys to the landlord I am now left stranded with an uncomplete move and non accessible items in storage. I will notify the BBB and all other relevant authorities. Worst moving experience of my life. Stay away.”

“ I used Meathead movers for a move not even 2 miles down the road. I was quoted a little over $700 for two guys. I didn't have that much stuff, I was moving out of the room I was renting so that was basically it. Well when the two guys showed up I was presented a stack of papers (prob like 10-15) and told to sign all these paragraphs. I asked what would happen if I didn't sign it, and wanted to take a few minutes to read through everything. They told me they would leave, and then i'd be stuck. So (stupidly) I signed everything. then he told me the cost wouldn't be $700... it would be $1,100! Again, if I didn't agree they would leave. Once they started moving everything, the "supervisor" was barely moving. and the younger guy and myself where sweating profusely! It took from 9am - 4pm with the supervisor having to take frequent breaks because his Achilles kept hurting... like bro, then you're in the wrong business...all to move 1 bedroom! They then cracked my dresser in half... literally in half! but because I signed all those papers they weren't responsible... like seriously?!? Then when they left, they left all their paperwork, power tools, multiple blankets, and plastic wrap. long story short... DON'T USE THEM!! I wish I would have done more research. 🙁”

“ Watch out for the bait and switch! They gouged the consumer who wants to help the student athletes. The bait and switch has to do with minimum and maximum. The minimum they quote you is only 3 Hours including drive time. Their quality control department just called me for the second time to talk. Not to do anything else but talk in circles. Please keep in mind I have never called them since I was taken advantage of. Yes, they have a quality control department. The quality control officer told me multiple times about the contract I signed. They treat it like a badge of honor. I'm sorry but contracts of that size and nature are only used to protect companies who extort others. I was told the minimum they quoted me would have to be completed within 3 hours. This was the first time anyone ever told me the minimum was three hours of work. Keep in mind my minimum was just under $700. Extortionists. The drive to and from my new home is about 2 hours so all work would have to of been completed with in one hour to stay within the minimum. I personally am not in the Moving industry but I have a rational brain and I know there is no way anyone would be able to move 20 items from one house to the next house with an hour drive in between within three hours. Oh yeah, 20 items. This is an obvious example of a "bait switch" and a misrepresentation of true cost. On top of that I speculate they probably only pay the college students $10-$15 an hour. At the end of the day all the quality control officer did was wave a contract in my face and waste about a half an hour of my day. This company is a sad example of branding themself as helping students, but the truth is they gouged the consumer and punish the kind people who want to help support student athletes with their deceitful business practices. Please do not use them and do not let them extort the students any longer. The student athlete movers were fantastic! Sadly I cannot say the same about the business side of this company. They were trying to over charge me from the beginning. They misrepresent themselves as trying to give student athletes work. But at the end of the day they gouged the consumer. When they called and asked me how it went I let them know I was unhappy with the price. I was given a minimum and a maximum price. Of course I was charged the maximum even though I only had 20 items moved. They told me they would have somebody call me to discuss it. The person called me to discuss it and said they couldn't do anything about it and completely wasted my time. just another example of a company extorting college students!”

“ We had just spent 2 weeks moving everything that we physically could. We finally threw in the towel and hired a moving company. Getting a quote and locking in a moving date was fast and easy. The guys came from the Ventura office. Both guys were courteous and explained everything right up front.
