When I first called to get a consultation, Amanda called me back immediately and answered all my questions. She scheduled my consultation, and the owner of the company came to do an assessment of the items I needed to move. He called prior to his arrival and provided me with the same quote that Amanda provided me over the phone. It was a quick and painless assessment. Due to a lot of issues with my move, Amanda and I had to speak frequently. She always picked up, (even 9pm on a Sunday evening when I called in a panic.) and did her best to help me in any way she can. I always felt like I was a priority. She was courteous, kind, and professional. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to reschedule my move. They were MORE than accommodating and worked with me to work out a solution. I was in the process of moving into my new home and needed to move into a storage unit until settlement. I had the worst nightmare ever after choosing these movers. I used them twice. The first time I thought they were really okay because they got me out of my apartment and into my storage unit, I thought with no problem. 2 mos later I hired them again to move me into my house. Upon moving in to my new home I realized one of my expensive glass table tops was missing. I questioned the movers and no one could tell me what happened to the glass. I called company and they said they would or could investigate what happened to the glass. The glass was not recovered. I got an estimate on the glass as the company instructed me to do. They estimate on the glass was as I expected very expensive, $700.00 and the company said they would only give me $150.00. Their movers are young, unskilled and should not be allowed to take on the positions they were given. Also they destroyed my dinning room table and breakfront. The scratches on them are forever. Please do not hire this company! They claim they do not carry insurance to pay more than what they paid me for the missing glass.”

Due to a career opportunity for my husband, we were in a position where we had to leave our home of about 25 years in Cherry Hill, NJ and move to Pasadena, MD. I appreciated very much the immediate responses to emails and phone calls, the excellent customer service from Amanda and the rest of the staff and the professionalism of this company. They were running a little late to arrive for the move from Cherry Hill on the Saturday, but they did call us with updates. I had asked for as early as possible a move-in time in Pasadena, MD on Sunday, and they did accommodate us - again with great communication. I was a bit stressed when they initially got to our Cherry Hill home, and I appreciated that they never let my anxiety take away any of the professionalism and wonderful customer service that they provided. They all kept a very upbeat, "we're going to take care of your move" positive attitude through our entire move. All of our belongings arrived safe and sound. Again, I would highly recommend this company for anyone's move.”

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. The original quote was significantly different than what we discussed. There were added fees that were not in our contract. The movers were not professional movers. The movers arrived late and they provided a van that was too small, causing them to take extra trips and take more time. The movers took a long time and hung out near their van between each item that was moved. They also showed up late and got lost for about 45 minutes on their way to the second drop off (which was 2 miles down the road), after I had driven them there on the first trip. We managed to make two trips in our own SUV packed with things during this time. Lastly, when I called to ask for a refund for the additional charges that were not in the contract, I was emailed a gift certificate for my next move. I honestly found this a bit insulting.”

I recently moved to Philadelphia (center city) in Oct and because the building was suddenly under massive construction I had to move out suddenly.....with one small freight elevator and multiple contractors trying to do a HVAC replacement. I share that information because they took on the project, knowing that. Prepared to compete for the elevator and deal with parking in the city. Starting with Amanda, and including her husband and all the team....they were positive, flexible and very efficient. It was easy to communicate with them and they made it happen within budget and with little stress to me. The ONLY warning I would offer is, depending on what you are moving....they do not routinely wrap the upholstered pieces in shrink wrap. I went into storage and had to purchase blankets. We discussed the issue and perhaps they have it as SOP now, but if not....I would request it. I have moved more times than I will admit and I LOVED THEM!”

I had an awful experience with this company. My move was scheduled for 3 pm, and they called me several times from 3 pm onward telling me they would "be there in 20 minutes" each time. Finally after stringing me along for 2 hours, I got a call from their customer service telling me that the movers who I had been getting calls from were lying and that they wouldn't actually be able to make it until 5:30, and that meant they could not complete the move that day because they stop working at 7 pm. They asked if I could do the move the next day, offering absolutely no refund for their mistake. I had taken off from work, and paid for street closure permits only valid that day per their request, so I requested a significant refund. They said they could only give me $100 off of a $700 move for this massive inconvenience. I went with another moving company that was available two days later (and for cheaper) but now had to pay extra on the rent for my old place to stay those extra days. This company wasted my time and money. There are so many other moving companies in Philly so do yourself a favor and don't use this one.”

I cannot say enough about Intelligent movers, especially my movers Jim and Joe! From the start of the process they were so quick to respond and easy to book. Amanda worked with me the whole time to set everything up and was always responsive and sweet. They made sure they were there super early to accommodate a special situation with our move out, and were really fast. They also took great care of all of our stuff, I never felt worried for a second. They went above and beyond when certain items wouldn't fit up our stairs and had to take them in over the roof and in a window, the whole time being SO sweet and friendly. They were reasonable as well!!”

I just went to re-arrange things in one of my guest/spare bedrooms and when I went to move the bed, part of it fell off. I then realized that there were missing screws and nuts that are supposed to hold parts of it together. So to add to it, the movers will lose hardware, not tell you about it, and then make it look like things are put together. This is very unsafe if it's something like a bed. Luckily nobody slept in it since I moved in or else someone could have been hurt! Now I feel like I should check every piece of furniture that they had to take a part and re-assemble! I NEVER write reviews of products, services, restaurants, etc. However, I felt the need to provide feedback. First of all, they showed up with a small truck and it was obvious that all of my furniture wasn't going to fit. In saying that, they had to make two trips to the new house. Then the movers snapped a piece wood to a piece of furniture, chipped the headboard on my bed, chipped the edge of my dresser and one of the drawers, and scuffed one of the drawers on my desk. Amanda asked me to send pictures via email to submit the claim. A couple of days later, she responded saying that these were repairable items and told me to go to Home Depot to buy a furniture repair kit and that the movers tried their best. That is the most unacceptable response I've ever received. She said that they value their customers and strive to offer the highest level of customer service, but this proves that they do not. Only after me pushing back and expressing my disgust over the phone did Amanda ask me what would make me happy, to which I responded, "fix what your employees broke". Simple. She then said it would be about a month for them to send someone out. A month!? They clearly do not have the proper resources to execute the workload that they as a company plan to carry out. I strongly suggest that you do not use this company or refer them to anyone. They will not be careful with your furniture and they do not value their customers. My biggest regret with this move was not using Transtar.”

I can't even say enough bad things about this company. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, not worth the hassle. They were recommended to me by my condo so I thought they were reputable but it turns out that some of my movers were friends of guys that worked there and were helping out. They broke a large piece of my furniture and are now fighting me on covering the damage. It took them 11 hours to move me because they didn't send enough guys and on the day they came to pack they showed with about 10 boxes for a 5 story townhome and had to get more. They use old boxes from other peoples moves and then charge you for the boxes. They then offer to pick them up after the move in order to reuse them. I've moved several times and this was by far my worst experience. Additionally they damage my walls and stairs and did a subpar job fixing it. I would never ever recommend them.”

The 2 guys I had were very knowledgeable on approaching how to load the truck. I was nervous they were not going to be able to fit everything done but by the time they had finished I was AMAZED!! Horrible!!! Worst moving company EVER. Run as fast as you can from INTELLIGENT MOVERS and save yourself the headache. I used them for a move that involved two apartments to a house 30 miles apart. I provided a list of EVERYTHING that would be included in the move. When scheduled Amanda was professional until the day of the move. They showed up 2 and half hours late with excuse after excuse. I was told they would provide furniture pads including mattress covers. After they showed up late I was told they don't provide anything for the move. They didn't even have tools to take the furniture apart or to take the front door off. Two hours after they started working they drove off for lunch without telling anyone that they left for an hour lunch. Halfway through the move I was told they could not fit everything on the "rental" truck and that they wouldn't be able to pick up the rest of the stuff until a later date. After arguing with Amanda and the movers they said they could pick up the rest of the items for $200 more. That's ridicules since I provided a list of EVERYTHING that was included in the move. I felt I had no choice since they were holding my furniture hostage on the truck. It took the "two" movers 9 hours to complete a 6 hour job and paying almost double then quoted from every other moving company. After the job was finished I noticed furniture chipped, cracked or broken. Every piece of furniture had a chip or crack and 30% of the boxes had at least one item in each box that was broken. Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from INTELLIGENT MOVERS and don't make the mistake I made by choosing a lousy shady company. They are LIARS and will cheat you of every dollar. Message me if you would like to see proof, I have pictures of every single item that was damaged or broken.”

Best Moving Company I moved from a five story walk-up (!) in Philly to a home in Nashville and I didn’t need to micromanage anything. In fact, I felt a little guilty for not having to lift a finger. My positive experience began with Amanda in the home office and continued with her top notch crew in the field until I was safely settled. I was TOTALLY cared for every step of the way! Throughout the move Amanda would periodically check in with me to make sure everything was exceeding my expectations - It always was. Not one hitch - truly, not one.
