After late on July 3, 2020 an estimator asked me to call him back on July 4th before he would "waste his time coming out in-person" on the following Monday even though I had already given extensive moving information to estimator Anita from this company by phone. (Anita had indicated to me previously that my move was too complicated for an estimate by phone). The next day, I reached the owner who became sarcastic with me for calling on a holiday. (According to consumer websites, people should avoid movers who don't want to do in-person estimates). I have since read the reply from the owner who starts his response by "Mary, Mary, Mary". I doubt very much if I was a man named John he would have started his response by saying "John, John, John". (Needless to say, I don't need to point out the sexism, and misogyny associated with such a response). Finally, to add insult to injury, I have been contacted twice by a sales person from this company after my review and the owner's response trying to schedule my upcoming move. Apparently the salesperson has no idea about any of my previous interactions with this company! DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!”

Do not move with them! I have had three moves prior with this company and they were great. NOT this time. Not only did they try to over charge me/ wya above quote/ starting clock before they started my move- they destroyed my furniture. My brand new dresser severely scratched- I watched them drop my couch (which now has holes in the fabric), among several other little things. Careless *just a note- I have receipts from texts and emails that were sent to report these damages- as well as it being pointed out to Mitch. Again, a note of the unprofessionalism, I never heard * on my 8th call to company- oddly HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM TOBY to rectify this situation.”

I tried to contract Homegrown for my upcoming move. It's a little complicated because there's stuff in storage, stuff in the house, and a piano. Long story short, while Ian, the (third party) sales guy was really friendly, he didn't follow through on anything and made several promises on when he'd be in touch with me on an estimate that he didn't keep. The last of those, he said he "guessed" his boss was working up the estimate, and Ian would ask him to call me. If he couldn't call me, Ian said he'd call me back in 20 minutes. An hour later, Josh called, completely unprepared to give an estimate. He had all the information I'd provided, the videos I'd sent, but hadn't bothered to get familiar with the situation before he called. He was brusque from the beginning, apathetic about the situation, and ultimately rude. So I have no idea if they're great movers, or if their prices are reasonable. I do know they rely on a third-party sales force who can't do estimates on their own, and they aren't reliable as to their promises. And Josh thinks he's doing you a favour if he deigns to speak to you.”

I try not to write bad reviews unless I feel as though I've been screwed, which is exactly how I feel after using Homegrown for a local job. First off, they got their truck stuck at our storage unit. Problems happen, and this wasn't a big deal, especially considering that they didn't charge me for the 3 hours it took for them to get the truck unstuck. However, the 3 hours that the job did take, cost me $900! There was a mysterious $300 service charge on the bill, and they charged me for the 30 mins that we all looked through boxes trying to find the parts for our beds to put together. Funny....The ONLY box that the movers left in our storage was the "parts box." Conveniently, we didn't have to pay them to put our furniture together; instead, we paid them to help look for it. They randomly placed boxes in areas that made no sense as well. Ultimately, with the service and incompetence, it should've been, at most, a $300 job. I'd stay far away from this shit show. I was swayed in by their 5 star reviews, and it was the farthest thing from that experience.”
