I remember being well pleased with HS over 20 yrs ago (of course economy prices much cheaper then) So decided to use them again. I'm retired Army, have done at least 17 moves...I know how they should go. I'm moving into an apartment, 2nd floors are nasty moves, yet my crew of 3 men and one female worked it all terrifically!! I could not have had better service. From the onset of my initial meeting with moving consultant Joseph Whitley till the end, I was completely satisfied!! Mr Whitley assisted me with the date I wanted, the cost I needed and even a "side' accommodation that was NOT in the original contract. He was absolutely great and so was my team. Ronnie and his team (with a perfect size truck and pads) met me at both places on time! The team I had was professional, courteous, handled my items just fine. I've read a lot of negative comments. I'm not sure about how things went wrong with their's, but I personally have zero complaints. My team did everything I requested of them...Ronnie and Candace even put my king sz bed nicely together (added bonus as they patiently allowed me to get my bedskirt on FIRST b4 placing the mattress on top of the boxspring)...I was pleased with that!. I am a older single woman and king beds are not easy to maneuver. We took a break as I provided a nice wholesome sub chip and drink lunch to my hard working got it done up a flight of stairs team, we enjoyed our lunch, they finished up, asked if there was anything else, I signed the final contract, paid my bill, we bidded farewell I closed my apartment door EXHAUSTED as I looked at the mound of boxes. After receiving numerous quotes from moving companies in the Hampton Roads area we chose Harrison's because of their professionalism and value. To begin, their initial quote was CONSIDERABLY less than every other moving company, proving that they are seasoned movers who know what they're doing. While the final bill was slightly higher than the quote (no initial quote will be 100% correct), it was still almost $700 cheaper than the next lowest initial quote. We had the pleasure of working with Mike Carrithers, their Sales Executive, during the entire moving process. I cannot commend Mike enough for his professionalism, understanding, and flexibility during our closing process. Unfortunately, our closing was pushed several times because of forces outside of our control, and Mike made sure the Harrison's team was ready when we were. The Harrison's packing team were fast, efficient, professional, polite, and most importantly, careful with our belongings. A team of four ladies, Candice, Trellis, Gabriella, and Tamara packed up my entire house in less than 6 hours. We were very impressed. The moving team consisted of William, Sam, Oliver, and Carlos. Like Mike and the packing team before them, they were fast, efficient, professional, polite, and careful with our belongings. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to get all the furniture from the 2nd floor down the stairs without scratching or digging into the recently-painted stairwell walls. This company was contracted out by the military for our PCS from Norfolk to Florida. Both packing days they show up around 10 a.m. and when they run late into the evening the workers started to complain about being there for so long. My husband set thing together that he wanted packed together..unpacking the items were scattered in different boxes labeled different rooms. No organization whatsoever. The day they were loading the truck it had rained and my husbands woodworking tools had gotten wet in transit to the truck. We explained it was urgent they dry them off otherwise they will rust.. arrival day and every tool that we were worried about in fact was rusted. Carelessly packed boxes with fragile items, not even wrapping them with packing paper. If you are looking to hire a moving company I would seriously think twice about this company.”

My furniture was originally moved under military orders. Packed and stored by Harrison's the entire duration I was deployed. After 90 days it became my responsibility to pay in which was only right. 40.00 per month for 32 months total. I returned back stateside scheduled delivery of my furniture. They lost my couch and no one answers or returns phone calls. Completely and utterly disgusted with their customer service. I'm missing a couch that's awesome no one feels like they need to call and provide updates or anything. Don't use this company they don't value customer's money or property! Save yourself the trouble.”

Multiple things damaged. Boxes were crushed. Kids bikes were broke due to twisting handle bars without loosening the bolt. Very unprofessional. Asked the person that delivered my items do things usually get this damaged during moving. His response was it happens that's why there is an insurance policy. Very careless about my belongings. Boxes not labeled correctly. The packers showed up and an hr later the moving truck pulls up. We were told pack on day move the next...didn't work out that way. I would not recommend this company to anyone.”

Terrible experience. It matches all the other low reviews but because we were also a PCS, we werent the ones choosing who came to the house. Packers were eager to be done and were very negligent. They packed live flowers and fresh fruit. They took a full canister of flour and instead of pointing it out the took the top off to wrap it and wrapped the canister separately with no top and still full. We have over a dozen smashed items including two expensive antiques. I became terrified for my favorite things as we continued to unpack boxes. If you have a choice don't use them. If you don't then keep an eye out and keep your best things with you or give to a family member”

I loved the experience with Harrisons Moving. Searg and his crew were excellent. I felt really bad since one of Searg's crew members was missing a good friend's wedding. It was a long,very hot,very late, 12 hour move but Harrisons men hung in there till the end. My only complaint/concern was the mattress was a little dirty after setup but I didn't make a big deal about it, my wife on the other hand did. My company has given some business to Harrisons since my move. I hope they appreciate it when I move again and remember this which I hope won't be anytime soon. Harrisons is not cheap but whoever said quality was !! I would rather take the time to do it right then to have damaged furniture at the end that will have to be replaced. This philosophy is used in my business which people don't understand today. They want it done but quickly and then out of the house. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for !! Thank you Harrisons for making this a much better experience compared to another company from 2 1/2 years ago when I moved into a temp rental house. Retired Navy family making our first (and possibly last?) non-military move. Overall, Harrison's provided a very positive experience during a predictably stress-filled time, moving approximately 15K lbs from Chesapeake VA to Tampa FL. Michael Carrithers was our salesman, weight appraiser and contact point throughout the move. He was very transparent and forthcoming in all aspects - tried hard to ensure I understood the process from start to finish without any surprises. Offered a "Not To Exceed" option which allowed me to not worry about weight determinations. Encouraged me to come out and see the operations at their facility, which I wanted to do, but was eventually overcome by other time commitments. Furthermore, Michael wore a mask during every engagement, including when he came by the house two days after the weight appraisal to drop off boxes! Regarding the actual move, the driver (Lee) and crew at the house were professional and performed their due diligence in tagging and loading. No issues of any kind. The driver on the delivery side (Bill) was exceptional in all regards: very friendly, professional and with the work ethic of a Spartan. He and the crew not only unloaded the truck in 3 hours, but placed it exactly where we wanted it to go. No damage on anything in the move. If all of the folks at Harrison's are like Michael, Lee and Bill, I would most definitely use Harrison's again.”
