Arthur had given me a very detailed and thoughtful quote, but I decided to go with a larger van line because it was going to save me $1,000. Big mistake on my part. When I found out the van line was standing me up just 12 hours before my move, I reached out to Arthur, hoping for a miracle. We first connected after 10 PM on Sunday night, and at 8 AM Monday morning, he had 6 movers at my home ready to rock. “ This was my first experience hiring professional movers. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. Pros: -Art and Glen did a great job wrapping up all my furniture in plastic shrink wrap to ensure that no damages occur throughout the moving process. -They disassembled my bed frame and tv for me. -Communication with Arthur prior to moving day was efficient. Cons: -Took longer than I anticipated. I am a single female who moved from a 650 sq ft 1 BR/1 BA apartment to another, 1.8 miles away. I did have one additional stop, 10 minutes away, to pick up one piece of furniture (sofa). In total, the entire process took 6 hours, and that was with me lending a hand for the last 2 hours. -They still kept a couple of my furniture in shrink wrap and did not reassemble my TV for me. -At the end of the move, as Art was going over the numbers with me, he said that it took them 21 minutes to get from the first stop to the second. It took me 8 minutes, and yes, I understand that the truck drives more slowly, but it shouldn’t have taken that much longer. After pulling up google maps, which showed 11 minutes of driving time, Art begrudgingly changed the time to 12 minutes. He followed with a snarky comment “I should be charging for this time too, but I’m not”. -They were pretty slow in the beginning. Billable time starts as soon as they park the truck. After parking at the first stop, Art and Glen went back and forth a couple times from the garage to their truck before they started getting to work about 10 minutes later. They also took a lot of time parking in front of my building, which was the second stop. My condo had a staff member on site to watch over the move, and he assured Art that it was fine to double park the truck in front of the building. But, Art kept stalling and hesitating, moving the truck back and forth a few times, which wasted another 10 minutes. In the end, all the stalling did add up to quite some time. However, I did notice that the guys moved faster towards the end as I’m sure they were getting worn out and wanted to be done. I just wish they had gone at that speed the entire time. I would consider using them again for short distance moving, but seeing how long it took, I may go with 3 movers next time. I would not use them for long distance moving because they do double the driving time.”
