Excel Moving & Storage Reviews

★★★★★
I was very happy with Allied and particularly. With Matt. He went above and beyond his. Normal duties in settling me into my new home. No other crew showed up and he moved me in all by himself. This boy deserves a raise. Virginia

Extremely pleased with Excel Moving & Storage. Everyone at every phase of the process was kind, focused, and flexible in this COVID-19 situation. Mario and Chris took great care with our furniture and worked faster than I expected. I will definitely use Excel for our next move.

The movers have been incredible here. They arrived on-time and early within the designated time frame both for pickup and delivery. They were very friendly and handled all items with care. I would 1000% recommend and use again. Our driver (Fernando) worked hard to ensure excellent, timely service.

Great experience with Allied. Fair and accurate estimate from Patrick for move from SC to west coast, for household goods and cars. Good support from Kathryn the move coordinator. Great work by Fernando the driver and his team. Recommended.

★★★★☆
We used Excel Moving for a move from NC to SC. Communication through the sales rep, Stewart, and the office, Kim, was excellent. Kim even responded to questions on the weekend!! Walter, the supervisor of the move, was punctual, efficient, and careful. Of the three items that were damaged, Walter immediately brought them to our attention with profuse apologies. He has an excellent memory which helped with where things came from and where they were going. He also did an great job dismantling, packing, and reassembling furniture. There were truly only two negatives. We were initially told that we could leave items in dressers. If we were to move again, I would take everything out of dressers. Boxes and dressers that were marked "this end up", were packed in the truck anyway that fit. Same thing with screws in boxes from the garage. Either people should be told to remove everything or the movers should pay attention to arrows and "this end up." The destination team tried to squeeze and easy chair through a door that didn't fit. Taking the door off was the only option. They should have know that. In the long run, we would definitely recommend Excel Moving and Storage. We were also fortunate to find them during the onslaught of Covid 19. They responded to our initial online request within minutes. Very impressed!

We had a 2000+ mile move, and were so satisfied with Excel Moving & Storage! They arrived right in the middle of the estimated delivery window, and were extremely fast & efficient (2 bedroom apt was packed in 3 hours; everything was loaded onto the truck the next day in 2.5 hours; everything was unloaded and assembled in 2.5 hours as well). Additionally, there was very minimal damage (only one bookshelf had any damage, and it was already an old, low-quality item--everything else of ours including TVs and furniture arrived in the same condition it had left). Further, they were communicative with us at each step. The service was very professional too in protecting all of our belongings as well as both homes we moved into/out of. We couldn't be more pleased with this service!!!

Fofo and Charles did a fantastic job moving in my furniture and belongings. They were prompt, professional, took extreme care with my belongings and really went above and beyond to make this move as smooth as possible. Not only did they do a great job moving in my furniture (including the impressive feat of carrying a 300lb couch up 4 flights of stairs because it wouldn’t fit in the elevator) but they were also kind, polite and innovative problem solvers. Fofo used engineering level problem solving to put together complex furniture pieces without instructions quickly and efficiently. Charles offered to break down and take the boxes out after we finished unpacking, which turned out to be an enormous job. Thanks to Fofo and Charles, I was moved in within the day. Their hard work and kindness made the transition to my new home a joyful one and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to move in the future.

Update: the GM came out to speak with me , which I appreciated very much. I did have a much better experience with the warehouse crew, they were all friendly and professional. Maybe this guy Sten was having a bad morning? Who knows, but all in all a good experience from the whse crew and their GM. I still think this guy Sten can do better in making drivers feel welcome. I'm a driver for Atlas Van Lines, I’m here today delivering storage, I go in to let Sten I’m here and he comes out with a very nasty attitude, he says just wait outside until we call you, doesn’t say good morning or nothing, Nasty guy. As a driver I would never drive for this company, I hope they treat their drivers better than I was treated. You would think they would be happy I’m bringing in revenue , poor driver appreciation,

Wow, these people were great from beginning to end, and we had a complicated move combining two households and moving across the country. The sales process was straightforward. The coordinator was absolutely stellar. The driver was extremely professional, and the crew was efficient. It was a great experience.

I have used Excel moving 4-5 times over last 20 years. I have always been happy with movers and customer service. However, this was the last move we will do with Excel. They are unresponsive when it comes to taking care of customers after they are finished getting paid. I had many items damaged this move, and the response was very poor. I expected better out of a company we have recommended to so many. Take better care of your long time customers !

Our management company hired your company to move me into temporary housing while my townhouse was being renovated this past June. Everyone was efficient, courteous and very timely. My husband and I were so happy that we bought them lunch. A couple days ago, they returned and the same team moved us back to our original townhome. We had no worries. They did an exceptional job. Again, my husband and I bought them lunch. They were personable and efficient. We consider them family and I would highly recommend them. Thanks fellas. Kevin and Reba Williams - Greensboro,.NC

My family moved from North Carolina to Colorado in March of 2019 and hired Excel Moving Storage to pack and ship our personal belongings. After delivery, we realized several of our items were missing and filed a claim with Excel. Despite us paying for full moving insurance coverage, Excel refuses to reimburse us for the items they lost. I will update this review if I'm able to find a resolution, but so far Excel has been completely uncooperative. I never could have imagined a professional moving company would lose my items AND refuse to reimburse me for the lost items when I had full insurance coverage!

I have moved a lot and even used Allied before. This by far was the absolute worst experience. It started with them not sticking to the contract that we all signed and I was bound to. They would not send someone to pack on the date that we agreed to, then they were incorrect about what they were going to pack. So they stated the loaders were going to pack. The loaders did not know this and then stated that by doing that, they don't get paid for packing. When the items arrived at the new house, one guy dropped a box that I had something that had been in my family for over 100 years and is now broken, they did something that created a huge lump the length of our mattress, and many other things. One of the first things I did when the unloaders arrived is show them where the water, snacks and BATHROOM was. The same guy that broke the art went upstairs and used a bathroom that we hadn't even put anything in yet and stopped up the toilet. Water (dirty) was going everywhere until he found my husband....in the meantime he was walking all over carpeted areas until he found him. After that I realized that the driver was in the truck for both the loading and unloading and had no idea about anything that had happened. I went to explain and ask that the gentleman that was causing so many issues be sent home. Instead he just told him that the "lady inside doesn't want you here" and that caused a very awkward moment. I did reach out to the scheduler and ask that I be contacted by the GM. That was 2 weeks ago and nothing. I am still very upset about how the sale, scheduling and move went. We have moved about every 2 years and never have I been lied to, never has the driver been absent because he hides in his truck and never have I felt so frustrated. I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are a lot of moving companies out there.

This was a horrible experience. 3 televisions destroyed. A piano destroyed. A chair destroyed. A chest of drawers destroyed. Don't be a victim. Don't use this company. Trust me. You're better off throwing your things in the trash. Nobody cares anymore. We screw each other over. What goes around comes around. Excel= garbage. End of statement.

Watch out for this one. Jeremiah Guffy and Driver Fofo both made a mess in delivering as well as scheduling. They missed the glass top of dining table and delivered after 2 months at the front door when they were supposed to install the that. They delivered the TV BROKEN, see pics and now, they are not returning calls. This is scam and fraudulent company. They held our luggage hostage and asked for sudden addition $400 in order to deliver. You have no choice but to pay once your luggage is already on the move.

I have used Excel moving 4-5 times over last 20 years. I have always been happy with movers and customer service. However, this was the last move we will do with Excel. They are unresponsive when it comes to taking care of customers after they are finished getting paid. I had many items damaged this move, and the response was very poor. They use a third party to access damages on items they have no expertise at all. The owner of third party even stated he was not qualified to determine damage to rugs etc. I was told on 7/15/20 that the GM was still reviewing the notes on my move and he would return my calls quickly. It has still been a month and nothing. We have moved on and learned a lesson and will not be recommending to our clients and friends. I expected better out of a company we have recommended to so many.

This was a nightmare move. The moving team in North Carolina destroyed a ton of furniture. I don't mean just it was damaged in transit (though many items were--I'm talking SEVERE scrapes, scratches, gouges, and dents on 8 major items, plus a ton of crushed boxes). They also destroyed my (very nice! not IKEA-level!) wood bedframe when taking it apart at the origin: they forcefully pulled out a ton of embedded screw anchors (making it impossible to put the bed back together) and shattered multiple pieces of wood, then inexplicably packed those splintered fragments in the "parts box" for the destination team to find. (The damage estimator here in Austin was shocked at the amount and extent of damage.) They also just straight up lost a tabletop and still have no idea where it ended up. The claims agent was impossible to reach by phone or email, and the claims process took a month, during which time we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor, as we'd been told that if we disposed of, repaired, or replaced damaged items before the claim was settled, we'd forfeit our right to any damages. They also undervalued the broken furniture despite my providing accurate links to the product as priced, and told me if I wanted to request additional review of the claim it would be another 45-60 days of sleeping on the floor. I gave up and took the insufficient sum they offered. I really wanted to like this company; Dave seemed like a nice man when we spoke on the phone. I can only guess that they subcontract out without any real quality control. Maybe you'll get lucky with a better origin team if you use them! But I wouldn't take the risk. Update: They publicly replied to a negative review on Google saying they were concerned at this unusual outcome and would be following up.... weeks have passed with no further contact.
