Terrible experience. To start the day they Showed up 3 hours late. Then there were 2 workers that do labor for hire (not employees), and they literally were threatening the two workers that are employees with physical violence (Charles River employees). Not only did I have to micromanage, the two labor for hire guys spent the entire time hiding out in the trucks, so the move took 2x as long @200/hr. Thank god we moved lots of small things in boxes because the cost here was much higher than expected. They ruined lights on the way down the stairs (now fixed) but created scratch marks on the floors, and after talking to the owner it's clear he doesn't care. Also one of the work for hire guys had a broken shoulder...who shows up to move with a broken shoulder? I ended up moving more things than the two non employees. We opted to use these guys since there were decent reviews and I thought the less expensive options we avoided would allow us to not encounter issues like this. I would avoid Charles River Movers at all cost, and I'm happy to share pictures of our floors and walls if anyone would like to see. I also let the owner know that the employees were fighting and threatening each other and he said "ok".”
