Terrible moving company. I paid for a full move which was supposed to include packing everything up disassembling anything that needed to be disassembled, moving it, unpacking it, and reassembling anything that needed to be reassembled . Instead the movers just threw everything in boxes, no labels and did not separate anything so i ended up with a bunch of random stuff just thrown in each box. And when dropping my stuff off at my new location there was no unpacking of any kind so now here I am with a ton of boxes with no labels with random stuff thrown inside that I have to now sort through myself.. also When the movers showed up both times they all wreaked of weed. Very unprofessional. It seems this moving company just hires anybody because the quality of work was very lazy and not what I paid for. PLEASE DO NOT waste your money with this moving company.”

This company used high-pressure borderline bullying tactics to try to get you to commit. Their quote came in $1000 higher than other companies and when provided with information from the other companies, the salesperson proceeded to discredit the other companies trying to justify their rate. Lastly, when the salesperson tried to pressure me into booking by stating that a moving company isn't something I should shop around for, I countered by telling him that it absolutely is. He then abruptly ended the conversation by saying he was no longer interested. They won't be getting a dime from me.”

If you decide to go with Bold Moving and Storage, do not use their "Professional Pack" service or find supplemental insurance for your stuff because the chances of finding broken stuff is very high. This is my wife and I's first time finding and hiring a moving company and in my naivete I didn't know all my options when it came to insuring our stuff for our move. Apparently the industry standard is $0.60 per pound per article and was not quoted for any other options. After our move this now seems like a scam to be careless and move as quickly as possible. The employees were nice enough and I didn't watch as they packed our stuff which in hindsight I probably should have supervised some now. To start, at pickup a mirror was broken and furniture was slid across a hardwood floor causing $300 worth of damage. The employee who broke the mirror was kind enough to pay for the mirror up front. Our problems really began at drop off. As things were coming in we had an antique wooden chair that was broken in multiple places, all of our dining room chairs had the legs bent like they had something very heavy stacked on top of it, an ottoman that was water damaged, and we were lucky if we found a box that did not have something damaged in it. Pictures were just tossed into boxes unwrapped and unprotected. A lot of broken glass and even a hanger through a picture. My sound system was thrown in a box still wired together. Somehow it was thought a good place for multiple lampshades was at the bottom of a box with marble cheeseboards on top of them. A dresser that has made it's way all over the country since the 1990s has finally found some damage after getting gouges all down the side that will need to be professionally restored. When I called to ask about starting the claim process I asked how they could charge what they did for the "Professional Pack Service" and the response I received was "Well it got packed, regardless of whether or not mistakes were made while doing so". So overall, they caused an estimated $2000-3000 of damages and the claims process is laborious and confusing. Then, because of their $0.60 per pound per article policy their offer to resolve the claim was $76. So bending the legs on $800 worth of chairs is worth about $40. Avoid this company.”

I was called and left a VM by quality control (Tom) as a follow up to my review. I have left 3-4 (calls are recorded so they can verify) messages to return my call so I can assume that Bold Moving is not that interested in my situation. To correct the management response, while it is true I did not have the exact apartment number when I booked my long distance move I did have on record that I was moving to a one bedroom first floor apartment from a 3 bedroom 3 story townhome. I specifically reiterated the fact several days before the move when I updated my inventory that the new apartment complex would not allow tractor trailers. But I will let that "misunderstanding" pass. If Bold is the "expert" on moves they should perhaps clarify or caution clients that many developments and residential will not allow these vehicles and a shuttle transport and additional $$$ will be required. (do you really the average person knows about this??? ) I know many people relocating into townhomes/condos/apts and gated communities that I assume have similar rules. Judging by some recent other reviews I am not the only person who has found themself in this situation. The negatives in my review are also directed at the unprofessional attitude of the business owner and the damages incurred in the shuttle transport. I have no problem paying for shuttle if that's what is required, but I did not appreciate paying extra for my personal items to be destroyed in this end process. And as far as the auto transport "referral" here is my comment. "If you tell your client that you don't offer a car transport service but your friend Ronnie will take good care of you, most people would take that as a warm handoff, not a simple referral."”

I recommend them with SEVERAL caveats here: We used BOLD for a cross country move. Communication was scattered but overall, they honored their word and came when they said they would. They did a full pack and move for us and the guys who packed and moved us were easy to be around and were seemingly well organized. Overall, no issues on the front end. They arrived at our new home when they said they would and worked hard the entire time. The issues came when we were charged about $4k OVER what we were quoted...despite having almost the exact estimated weight per our head mover the day of our move in. When asked for an explanation, it was obscure and no legit answer was given. We felt like we had no option but to pay in full or the guys would not have unloaded our stuff from the trucks. More issues came up when a dresser was broken + things were missing. One of the owners, Bill, was quick to address the broken dresser and gave us a credit that was about 25% the value of the dresser which was satisfactory since we know he didn’t even have to do that. As for the missing items, it kept being insisted that things just DON’T get lost with moves. Well, we have entire large Tupperware boxes that we KNOW we do not have and a tv wall mount that’s missing. Very frustrating as one of the boxes is ALL my fall decorations I’ve accumulated over the last 15 years...some of which are family heirlooms. Overall, no items they packed were broken in transit other than the dresser that was clearly broken bc they neglected to remove 2 of the legs so they simply ripped everything apart (very frustrating) and the actual movers worked very hard and were easy to be around. Not sure there will ever be an answer for the absurd thousands of dollars over that we were charged and as I find more and more things that are missing, it’s beyond upsetting. So would I recommend? Maybe but I would say you’d have to be persistent about ensuring honesty and ensuring you don’t get blamed for their issues.... *edited to add: we are now being told that our weigh in was in fact 3k lbs over their estimated weight for us so the extra charge was correct. we definitely were not told this the day of our move-in. I don’t think they’d lie about it. Waiting for documentation here.”

They professionally packed and moved all my furniture, antiques, china, collectibles, etc. They even built custom wooden crates for my special bronze statues. Extremely disappointed and very upset that damage was done to my home by careless movers, furniture ruined, tools missing and the sheer disregard for respecting someone else's property and belongings. Entire box of shoes missing, cedar chest cracked from top to bottom, numerous items from storage shed- hand tools, power tools disappeared, movers had the only key to get into shed. My mothers' clothing was removed from a tote and a box soaked with lamp oil was placed on top, soaking into and ruining clothing. Her clothing was never found. A special doll given to me by my now deceased brother missing from the cedar chest, silver platters missing, personal checks in a sealed box inside cedar chest were rifled through as the box was opened. Brass bed scratched and a bolt pulled out from the base, showing it was removed with force. Several deep gouges in the drywall in living room and bedroom, furnace door bent,cigarette burns in the carpet in 2 rooms. Washer and dryer drums were not packed, dryer front scratched. Kitchen table has a base and 4 claw feet- 2 screws from the feet were pulled and stripped, Ali unable to reassemble as they had no tools. I looked for MY TOOLS in MY SHED and found them GONE. Tools that I've had for YEARS, now MISSING. Had to go and borrow tools, and neighbors said movers were in your shed looking and took them. Several totes belonging to my mother/father are missing and never returned according to inventory sheet which is a JOKE, because nothing is sequencially documented, just a line drawn down the center. Large tote containing important legal matters and financial information never returned. Numerous totes and boxes are unaccounted for which contain family photos and personal affects. So, do I TRUST this so called company? NO WAY!! I am involving the State Police, ALL 3 Credit Bureaus, BBB in VA and PA. This company states on their website page," Items returned to CUSTOMER in the CONDITION they were PICKED UP" and " INTEGRITY takes PRECEDENCE OVER PROFIT" I think it's the other way around, " Profit over PRECEDENCE". I will not change this review for Bill, as he has no idea as to what his employees are doing in a strangers home, until the damage is done. Photos don't lie, and if persons want to personally contact me, please do because the list of betrayal and distruction is lengthy. Also was NEVER TOLD about a FINAL WALK THROUGH, doesn't matter because the damage is done, but the TRUST WILL NEVER BE REPAIRED. Remember, we all have to meet our MAKER, and answer to HIM, and I know I couldn't live with myself had I done ALL of these wrongful ACTS, to someone who put their TRUST into me to " Take care of their property, and treat it as if it were my own property" No INTEGRITY what so ever, and NO RESPECT AT ALL!! Deceitful and total Disregard.”

When you move homes--at least if you're like us--you have a lot going on all at once. You plan, you prepare, but things always come up. There's too much to do and, suddenly, you're running out of time. That's why, when you move, you always end up counting on the proficiency and professionalism of your movers more than you'd expect. We had a 1 bedroom move (small, but complicated, I assure you) from Florida long distance with a really fantastic team (Ali, Rodney, and Jaylen)! They were courteous and made sure everything we wanted was packed. They knew when to check with us on what should be packed, and even though they moved quickly, they knew when to stop and ask. They were pretty much always right, singling out items we'd forgotten to set aside for our own drive from Florida. This is why even though we debated it at first, we chose the packing service and it was well worth it! They were conscientious and helpful with things they didn’t need to do but did out of kindness. Josh, one of the owners of this business according to him, GUARANTEED our belongings would be delivered by July 10, when they were instead delivered on July 15. No one from the company contacted us to let us know they would not be delivered when guaranteed, we had to contact them. We were told catastrophes within the company had occurred two weeks prior, we were told one of the employees had been killed in a car accident, which left the company short of workers. This however did not explain why the company did not let us know all of this five days before, when they picked up our belongings. Beyond this, Josh bragged about how companies without branded moving trucks were not ones to be trusted, however the moving truck that delivered our belongings was an enterprise moving truck, showing our stuff had obviously been moved from one truck to another. This moving process from moving truck to moving truck explains the thousands of dollars worth of damage (before tax) to our belongings (one of our tvs, our printer, two mirrors, our plates, our cement coffee table, clock, tv stand, dresser). Cement is pretty hard, so it really would have had to have been extremely poorly handled to be broken in the way that it was (this is a 250 lb table, it's not fragile). The icing on the cake was after leaving our review (almost verbatim to the above review) on the Better Business Bureau website, Bill B., according to him the president of the company, let us know that we would receive $200 for the damage to our belongings, if we took our review down. If we didn't take it down, we would receive nothing. Neither my husband or I appreciate threats, bribery, or deceitful businesses, so it looks like we will receive nothing, and Bold Moving and Storage will keep an unresolved complaint on the BBB website.
