Best Movers of America Reviews

★★★★★
They worked very hard and cared about my belongings, especially my china set. I even told them I didn't really care about how some of my stuff was treated, and they still took great care in making sure that nothing happened to it. I was extremely pleased with their efforts, and would recommend Best Movers of America and the movers specifically for anyone that asks.

★★★★★
An excellent moving company. The movers came within the allotted time, worked very hard throughout the move, were easy to communicate with and were very flexible with my specialized requests. Overall a memorable moving experience. I would definitely use them again.

The movers were amazing. They were on time, polite and very careful. No damage to any item and their delivery was quick. I appreciate the sales rep for setting up the move for my family. We are very grateful to them and we will recommend them to everyone we know.

★★★★★
The Best Movers of America team exceeded all of my expectations. They are reasonably priced, show up ahead of schedule, and do such a great job packing everything safely into the truck. They made an effort to put my things in the correct rooms when we arrived and finished before the estimated time. Great experience, I'm planning on using them again.

★★★★★
All I wanted was a company which could guarantee me efficient services at low costs. This move turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Really it has to be the most efficient and cost effective method of moving, makes me feel as if I would like to move again. I think everyone deserves good services so any person in need of relocation experts should give them a try.

Best Movers moved a piano across the country for me. It is 115 years old. They spent a great deal of time preparing and packing the piano to move. It arrived in perfect condition. Everyone from the first person I talked to at the company to the moving men who delivered the piano were courteous and knowledgeable about their job. The price was exactly what was quoted to me. I’ve heard many moving horror stories. Best Movers made this easy for me.

Although the guys who did the actual moving were fine, all my dealings with the company were off. I set up the move and informed them of the date I wanted to move. They told me I had to give them a larger window of time than one day. They told me they would let me know by a certain date what day they would move me. They didn't contact me. When I contacted them, they told me they couldn't do the date I wanted but would move me the next day. I asked if there was any way they could fit me in and they said again they would let me know 48 hours prior, they didn't. Then they showed up the day they told me they couldn't move me. Also, what is with the final payment having to be a postal money order or cash? I was only moving across town so it was into the truck and back out within 3 hours which went well.

The worst company you could ever use! I did look at the reviews ahead of time but they said that yelp was a scam! It is not a scam, this company is a scam! My moving estimate was $1600, and when they delivered it was $3000. It was one bedroom! They took advantage of a family that was in a terrible wreck and couldn't bring their college students stuff home. Please, please do not use this company!

Watch out!! Watch out!! Watch out!! Best Movers of America,Inc (also known as Budget Vanlines) 2980 Simms Street. Hollywood,Fl 33020. 1-877-962-2662 (David Carfati-owner). A RIP-OFF Company!!!! I hired them with a lady named Donna out of Lakeland with a personal check to start the process. After that she said I needed personal money orders for the next two installments. When the movers came to move me out they charged me more money at the end for "materials" and something about the cubic ft in the truck?? So, I had to give them the second installment by a personal money order. However, when the drivers finally got to the final destination to unload my furniture (SEVERAL days late with zero communication as to when they would finally get there) the owner, David, wouldn't accept the final payment with the money order. He told me I had to go get a Postal money order for the difference to pay at delivery! David accepted the first check and the first money order. But NOW he insisted on a postal money order when I already had the personal money order for him! Obviously, I didn't have the postal money order, so he threatened me... told ME to "stop playing games or I'm going to have my drivers take all your belongings away!!!" Who conducts business this way?! A scammer!!! After he got me all upset and distraught from screaming at me and threatening me, he said I could pay by Venmo, only. But I'm in my 60's, I've never done Venmo before and couldn't figure it out!!! I had to contact a couple different people to help me use Venmo. Only then were the movers allowed to unload and they did an absolute disrespectful job!!!! They basically threw all my stuff in the storage. It was disarrayed. Furniture stacked on top of furniture with zero protection. What was that extra $500 fee I had to pay for materials for?! It was such a HORRIBLE experience!!!! I've never dealt with such rudeness and inconsiderate and disrespectful people!!!! After everything it cost me OVER $500 more!!!! NEVER use this company!!!! They will RIP you off!!!!!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. OWNER DAVID CARFATI IS A CROOK. I hired Best Movers of America for a move across North Carolina. Our Sales Rep Charles created a contract with my items and we signed a contract totaling $1500. I was given the arrival time of 8am to 9am on Sunday. I was never made aware of the numerous hidden fees including fees related to the movers using the elevators ($50/elevator ride), fees related to the distance the movers have to walk with your items ($50/100ft), fees related to movers waiting on you at the delivery site ($99/hour spent waiting + storage fees + redelivery fees). I was also not given a delivery date. Given that they were arriving so early on Sunday, it was implied that they would deliver the same day. After the fact, I had neglected to add an item. Charles showed no resistance in adding the item, and the price of our contract was never changed despite it being based on weight and how much cubic feet the items take up. Prior to the move, I had packed my vehicle, including one of the items I had listed for the movers to take. Given that I was removing an item from their load and that Charles was fine about adding an item, it seemed safe to assume that this would be no issue. I left four small boxes, maybe a quarter of the weight of a TV that I chose to take myself, assuming that Charles' behavior was indicative of how the movers would feel about these boxes. On the day of the move, the movers did not arrive until 1:30 pm, almost six hours late. I had left my parents to facilitate the move as I had planned my day around the movers arriving at our destination based on the arrival time I was given. As I was traveling to the destination, I received a call from what ended up being the owner, David Carfati. Carfati neither introduced himself nor gave his name. He told me that because of the extra items included in my move, the new total was $400 higher than the contract we had signed. He gave no excuse for why the truck was late, or why this price was not given to me before the movers decided to put the items on the truck. He also told me that the estimated delivery was sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday, but offered no explanation initially as to why that was the case either. By Tuesday I was finally able to contact our customer service rep Charles. I asked him why I was being charged an additional $400 and why nobody could give me a straight answer for when my items would be delivered. Due to the fact that Carfati never gave me his name, I could not tell Charles who was making these demands. Instead, he offered to call the truck to get a delivery time estimate and investigate who was demanding the money. A few hours later, the driver of the truck called to berate me, demanding that we have the additional $400 for the extra items, otherwise they would drive off with them. Before I was able to contact Charles again, Carfati called, and threatened me with "throwing [my] stuff onto the highway" or "locking it away in Greensboro" until I paid him. At this point, I still did not know who this person extorting me was, and contacted Charles again. After speaking with Charles and explaining that I have a recording of this mystery person attempting to extort me, Carfati called again. This time he explained that he was the owner, was unhappy that I now had a recording of him threatening me, and that I had fifteen minutes to venmo him the money, otherwise my items would be locked in a storage container. I paid out of fear that Carfati would actually follow through with these threats, and was told the movers would arrive at 7. Would it surprise you to hear that the movers didn't actually arrive until 10:30 that night? I spent the five hours waiting researching Carfati and his "business." As it turns out, this pattern of picking up items and then later extorting customers for more money is par for the course for Carfati. I implore you, avoid this scam artist and his "company", lest you experience similar harassment as I did.

For starters, I requested a specific date which I was told was available. 2 days before, the dispatcher called and tried moving my day to a day which wasn’t available. The day I originally wanted ended up being canceled and rescheduled to the day after without my knowledge. I asked if the movers could be there early that morning, to which I was told ‘Yes’. Movers showed up at noon, and all the other appointments: things I had to do for that day had to be canceled. When they finally came, they sat in the truck for 40 minutes. But apparently even though they weren’t actively moving my items, it still counted towards my 3 hours. Movers technically started at 1240 (annotated on paperwork that you sign) and finished at 4:45 for a total of 4 hours. I was charged for 5 hours and then I called to find out why the owner stated that the movers started at 12 ( they didn’t) and finished at 5 ( I was already back across town and on the phone with him at that time so it’s no way they had finished at the time stated).
