These guys are GREAT. I had never moved with a mover before and wasn't sure about any of it. We had only communicated over the internet. They showed up first thing in the morning like we had agreed and went to work on moving. Amazing is all I could say. They packed the truck efficiently and to be on the safe side, I requested a second truck. The second truck was needed. The move was about 200 miles, they stopped for a quick bite to eat on the way, and made the trip quick. Unloaded putting things where they could be efficiently unpacked and were out of there. We were moving from Seattle to Sacramento in a month and was deciding which was the best method to move. It was an extremely stressful time and situation and decided having movers would be the most stress free. And we do not regret it at all. We contacted them about a month before our move and was able to schedule a date. We were able to talk to them on the phone and was emailing all throughout the weeks and days before the move. We packed all our stuff that we can in boxes, and left the big appliances and furniture to them. These included our TV, dressers, couch, peloton, and king size bed. We were all packed the day of the move and they took about three hours to load the truck and pack the remaining items. We lived in the Central District in an apartment complex and it went very smoothly. The delivery would have been completed in two days, but we added an extra day due to logistics. During the move in day in Sacramento, they did a fantastic job putting all the boxes and items in the rooms. One of the best decisions we have ever made. They are incredible and I highly recommend them.”

They were great from Day 1 in responding quickly to our queries, being flexible as our plans took shape, and clearly communicating what they needed from us to make sure our move happened. I'm sure we're not alone in having a complicated move. Adult kids moving out meant downsizing our place, so some of our stuff needed to go to our new apartment, some stuff to storage, and yet other stuff to our rental house. Not only did they handle all of this without blinking, but they offered advice as needed to ensure proper care, transit, and storage of our belongings. They are also very thoughtful and hilarious! While we are loyal to local restaurants and businesses when we find good ones, we never thought movers would be one of those businesses - but now I can't imagine moving and NOT calling Best Coast to do the job. My wife just gave birth and we moved 3 weeks after. We didn't pack anything really -- just what my wife and kids needed in the new house for Day 1. Dwight and team came in late afternoon and we were done by evening. We're talking packing, wrapping breakables in paper, meticulously labeling boxes and making sure they were in the right place. They took apart a bed, assembled it back together, just non-stop intense work. If you watch how quickly they can assemble a box, tape it up, fill it and seal it, you'll realize that getting pros to do the job is absolutely worth it. They wrap corners of your door to avoid dings, lay the floor with mats to keep it clean, thoughtfully felt furniture to not scratch the floors. This is top notch service. Next time you move just hire these guys and relax. Your only job is to unpack. 5 stars. I'd recommend Dwight and Malcolm any day.”

They wrapped everything without us asking for anything explicitly. We were running a little behind on packing and weren't able to finish everything we wanted to. They did a fantastic job in making sure all the furniture was carefully wrapped, the weights of items were appropriately distributed, and everything secured. We were worried all of our belongings weren't going to fit in the pod, but due to their expertise it all went in with some room to spare, for any last minute items we wanted to include. Malcolm and Dwight were a pleasure to work with, friendly, efficient, everything you could hope to find in a mover/packer. We live on the third floor and these guys dominated carrying our million boxes, and heavy furniture. We have several antique pieces that are very sentimental to my husband and they took great care with them and delivered them with not a single scratch on them! The move was as quick as humanly possible. They definitely worked to get us moved in the shortest time possible - which equals the lowest cost to us possible. I searched all of the yelp reviews for the top rated movers in Seattle (including the hidden ones) after we had a nightmare experience with Bekins movers on our move to WA. Bekins scattered furniture parts all over our storage unit and we were very worried that we would have to throw away a lot of our furniture. Well Dwight and Malcolm from best coast movers handled the move out of the storage unit like champs and they were able to put together the furniture using the parts Bekins scattered all over the place with no labels. I worked with Dwight, Malcolm, and DJ twice now - once in 2018 and once in 2019 for moves within Seattle of a 1-bedroom apartment. I expect I'll be calling them again in 2020. * They work fast. They are well-prepared with all the right tools and can optimize the number of trips to and from the truck. Also, having a well-coordinated team of 3 makes a huge difference, compared to 2. * They don't waste time. When the loading space was occupied by an Amazon truck who just wouldn't leave, they quickly found another spot down the street and started hustling and unloading my stuff. * They wrap furniture carefully. I wasn't expecting them to, but I appreciated that they even wrapped my $15 IKEA coffee tables. * They were able to accommodate my requests and changes. I'm grateful for their flexibility, but it's certainly not an expectation! * Last and most importantly, they're honest and upstanding. They don't try to pad the time or bait-and-switch or tack on additional charges (they do charge for tape, which I knew upfront) or any of those modern business practices that I've come to expect from every single company. They treat me with respect, and so I have a lot of respect for them. Lots of things are unpredictable during a move, and that's why you need people you can trust. I'm a frugal person, sometimes excessively so, but every dollar I've spent on Best Coast Movers was absolutely worth it. I'd much rather hire them than sign over my hard-earned money to my apartments' greedy and parasitic lease renewals. Go read my other reviews - most of them are complaints - but I'll gladly give Best Coast Movers 5/5 stars.”

Recently used Malcolm, Dwight and DJ for a move out of a house and 3 storage units - and WOW! I was blown away at their efficiency. Let's go back to booking though. They provided me a quote within the hour and were the most competitive rate. I got back to them to secure my spot and that was that! No gimmicks. They arrived ahead of time (it's as if they knew my value on being early from the start), and packed the entire 2 story house in 2 hours FLAT. They cleared out the storage units and helped me consolidate remaining items in to 1 storage unit, multiple floors and wonky elevator in 2 hours flat. They unloaded my house in 2 hours flat. THEY NEVER STOPPED MOVING. It was mind boggling to watch how hard they worked! To boot, all of my house plants were in pristine condition, absolutely everything arrived in excellent condition. We wanted to load and drive a U-Haul over to the new house a few months before our big move to get a lot of boxes and furniture out of the house to get it ready to put on the market. As I was booking BCM for the big move, Dwight suggested I hire them to load the stuff out of the house and into the U-Haul. I didn't know a moving company offered this service. So glad I accepted: they moved everything out of the finished basement and packed and loaded the 15 ft. truck in 2 hours. We were able to drive to our new house that day giving us back our weekend. I got a few quotes, but Dwight and Malcolm offered a flat fee, which gave me a lot more comfort for the small project since other companies all warned about going over time (adding more cost) or different rates for the weekend. I booked Best Coast Movers for a move between apartments downtown. Overall they were a very hard working crew that got the job done quickly and cleanly and I would book them again. Two positive details that stood out from the move: 1) The team had all the necessary "white glove" gear for the move so that none of my furniture was damaged and nothing in the apartment was damaged. However when moving into the new apartment my oversized couch slightly scuffed a wall. I hardly noticed it, however a team member was quick to point it out to me and offered to take it off the final bill. This wasn't necessary, but the honesty was appreciated. 2) There was a snafu with my new apartments loading dock being double-booked that delayed us ~30 minutes, which was completely out of control of the moving company. Out of dumb luck Best Coast had another crew finish a job nearby, and instead of just going home they brought the 3 extra men to help out my move so that we could finish within the original timeframe.”

We met with Malcolm who came to the house to give us an estimate. Very Friendly and gave us a fair quote. Also, communication was excellent. I can say hands down, the BCM's are the best moving company I've worked with and I've moved a lot over the years. I've moved internationally and done a number of moves from the West Coast to the East and back to the West, up and down the West Coast and within Seattle. I waited an extra week so that I could work with them rather than another company. My last movers broke a few family heirlooms and then tried to manipulate things to suggest I didn't get the full insurance when I explicitly requested it and had emails to back it up. I had to hire a lawyer to get them to pay up. Needless to say, I was a little distrustful of movers and wanted to make sure they knew that I had some fragile items. They assured me they'd take good care of my things. It was a 2-day job. Pack up my condo in Seattle on Day 1 and drive to Portland to unload and set up my things on Day 2. They were so friendly and extremely careful of not only my items but the elevator, walls, carpet, and were also reliable. They even helped unpack my car with some items I had loaded myself. I watched as they took heavy things around turns and stairs and they were so well aware of how things would fit, it was amazing. I've now unpacked everything and not one thing was broken or scratched. Impeccable work!”
