From speaking to Oscar on the phone with setting date/time up to meeting the two movers who helped moved all my furniture to the fourth floor of my apartment, it was a smooth experience! Not to mention, movers helped put my bed together, got rid of an enormous orange/zebra striped spider for me, and gave me one of their extra bottles of brisk iced tea to drink since i had an empty apartment! Our 3 man crew (Mike, Daniel M, and Tim) arrived about 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (8:30 am) and didn’t stop from that point on (our local move was completed in just over 3 hours). There were a couple components of our move that made it tricky (a piano, switch-back staircases at both homes, etc) but they navigated those challenges with ease. I was a bit skeptical at first because they were nearly half the cost of other moving companies I had priced, but they definitely are deserving of 5 stars. I used American Moving & Storage for a move about 3 weeks ago. Todd was very prompt with calling to confirm, and he quoted me a price that I was both shocked and impressed by. He gave me a detailed description of what to look for during packing and prepping and what I should expect on the day of the move. He called again to confirm 2 days before. On the day of the move, David, Eric, and Duane showed up about 10 minutes early with a huge truck. I had everything mostly ready to go in boxes, and they quickly were able to take apart the large furniture that needed disassembled. I had clothes and loose items that needed to go as well, and Eric helped me carry it all downstairs and load up in my car, which was a huge help. At my new apartment, they helped me do a once over of the space to check for any issues before bringing in my furniture which helped to have an accurate list to give to the complex. They brought everything in quickly, and reassembled everything that needed put together. They asked me where I wanted everything, which was great that I didn't have to move things to other rooms. They were friendly to talk to as well during the move and very helpful and thorough. At the end, the price matched exactly what I was quoted, and left room in my budget for a good tip for the team. First time hiring movers, and it certainly won't be my last. I will be using American Moving again in the future!”

I found the long haul price to be very fair and by using a local company you know exactly who is moving your belongings, unlike the larger moving companies. Having the peace of mind of knowing who was handling my possessions was very important to me. During the move, Mike, Graham and Adam were on time, very efficient, organized and friendly. They were a great crew to work with. While I had already packed my items, they made quick work of loading and unloading the moving truck. The process was seamless and straight forward without any hidden fees or surcharges. We purchased a box package from their packaging solutions affiliate, Columbus Box, which was also very helpful. On moving day the crew was polite, professional, and communicated well with us every step of the way to ensure all our needs were met.
