One star, even though they deserve none! Hired these guys, via Billy in the office, for a move June 17. They arrived on June 16. I told them I had hired them for the 17th and they said they would be back the next day. Was all ready for them and they didn't show. Called the office and left 6 messages, no response. Finally Justin answered office phone, told me he would wrangle up the guys, they were supposed to be at my house. I asked him to call me back and confirm. No guys, no phone call. I found another mover, but not until Saturday, so 2 nights in a hotel for me. What a crappy way to run a business. You've got nothing if you have no customer service. Icing on the cake: I get a phone call today from a guy in NW Portland advising the Amazing Moving company truck has been parked blocking his parking space all day. Says he thinks the truck is abandoned and is having it towed since there has been no loading/unloading all day. He found my contract with them on the front seat of the truck and called me to see if I knew anything about them. Now I know a lot about them and would NEVER use them or recommend them - just the worse! I hear a lot of good things about Willamette and I hired a guy from Butterfield. Use them. You don't need further stress during a move!”

Would give zero stars if possible.. not only is in almost impossible to get ahold of themThey do not return phone calls after damaging items during a move out. I was told I would receive a phone call and have yet to here anything. Even after sending over the photos of my broken items. They incorrectly label boxes while un packing my items I discovered a box of refrigerated food tapped shut labeled dry food of course by the time I found it, it had all gone bad. Save yourself the trouble and hire diffrent movers.”

Absolutely fantastic. We moved back to our apartment after being in a temporary place for over a year. The move was arranged by someone with my current building as they were covering the charges. This made me a bit uneasy because I wasn't sure if movers were going to show up on the moving day (phew anxiety) But not only they did show up, they brought a big enough truck, the crew was amazing and they were ultra patient when they went to the storage unit to pick some more furniture.”

Did they do the job? Yes. Were they amazing? No. Booking was easy, price better than some others, and they did move my things. They came about 30min late and charged me for 1.30h of driving alone! 1 hour to get my location, 30 min to get back to the office. Their bill showed they were on time and took only 30 min to get to my place. Some of my furniture was damaged, standard moving occurrence? It was a hot day and one of the movers did not feel well, work slowed, yet I was charged for full service. While booking, I was told movers will bring wardrobe boxes, none were available. If you cannot find other movers, these will do, just be careful examining your bill and bring up issues before you pay. I would not recommend these movers.”

I contacted Tom at Amazing Moving and Storage kind of last minute for a move of our 3 bedroom home that had some really heavy furniture that needed to be moved from the upstairs. When I first talked with Tom, he said he could move me in the morning on the day I wanted, but I didn't lock it in until 48 hours later and the time slot had been taken. He scheduled me into the afternoon slot and told me he still might be able to get me moved in the morning. As it turned out they were able to get there early in the morning which was great for us! The two movers arrived about 20 minutes early and got right to work. Anthony and Quinton busted their butts and were extremely professional and they had great attitudes. Unlike some movers in the past that I could tell would rather be anywhere but moving my stuff. They got everything loaded into the truck and moved to the new house and unloaded in about 6 hours which was pretty amazing. We did have a couple of issues with one damaged bed frame and a mattress that got dirty. Plus a couple of dings in the walls of the staircase at the old house. I can take the blame for the wall dings, because I told Tom that two guys could handle it, when 3 might have been necessary on some of the heavier items. I debated with my wife about if I should contact Tom about the issues we had because I really like Anthony and Quinton and didn't want to get them in trouble. In the end, I thought that if I were the owner, I would want to know. So I contacted Tom and I was kind of stunned at how he handled it all. He was so thankful and understanding and handled it professionally. I could tell that this is a guy that values his customers and strives for perfection. He gave me a more than generous credit back which I told him was not necessary as that was not my intention, but he insisted. This is the sign of a great business in my humble opinion. Things happen, nobody is perfect. What is important is how the company handles these issues when they came up and Tom at Amazing Moving and Storage get's a 5 star rating from me. The two gentlemen who actually moved us were super respectful and really pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, they had customers ahead of us in the day who lied about the size of their move. This resulted in an exhausted crew showing up 3 hours late to our move which was extremely disappointing. The worst part though is that the cost of service was extremely misleading. We ended up paying over $200 more than expected based on the initial estimate. When we spoke to the company after the move about the higher price, exhausted crew, and the inconvenience of an extremely late move, it was like pulling teeth to get any sort of positive response from them. Unfortunately, based on bad planning and the misleading estimate, I would not recommend this company.”

This company was the fourth I had called in the Portland area; they were the most affordable with the best reviews. Billy was polite and communicated clearly throughout the scheduling and quotation process. He also called to confirm approximately a week in advance. The moving team was upbeat and peppy; it was refreshing to work with people that seemed they genuinely wanted to help and to facilitate a good move. Anthony and his men handled my items with care, to include a heavy couch, king mattress, and wood furniture. I've used Amazing Moving twice. Both times they've been professional, hard-working, and helpful. I had two totally separate teams, and they were all nice guys. I chose them for their high ratings and the fact that they will, if you set it up in advance, pack your stuff for you in boxes before they move it, and unpack at the new place. You need to be clear when you book that you want them to do that, since they may book multiple jobs some days if they can reasonably expect to have time for both. They might run out of time if you ask more of them than you did when you booked them. Their rates are set by the state of Oregon, they tell me. So what I assume from that is, if all movers charge the same, then they need to compete for your business with better service. And these guys do.”

Amazing movers were top notch and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. My first point of contact, Billy, was extremely helpful and responsive. He answered all my questions and gave me good advice about paying extra to have my parking signs verified (do it!). The 2 guys who did the actual moving, Anthony and Brody, were punctual (actually a bit early), incredibly hardworking, friendly and professional. Everything was protected and cared for, and nothing was broken or missing. This is probably the best experience I've had with a moving company, with not a single hiccup, and I will hire them again the next time I move. My only issue was that although they said they can re-assemble furniture, the guy who tried to assemble my bed had a lot of trouble and was taking more time than expected. Because I was paying by the hour, I told him to stop working on it and I'd take care of it. As I hired them to move me, and not to put together furniture they hadn't even disassembled, it was really not a problem. I wholeheartedly recommend them and am happy to support a small, local business.”

Update : they didn't cancel the original charge and now my bank account has incurred overdraft transfer fees. These totaled $12 but that's only because I had sufficient funds in my savings account. Good business handling would have paid extra attention to the duplicate transactions to ensure this didn't happen. Now, I've paid twice for this subpar experience. I left a voicemail indicating this error and requesting a call back to correct it. More than a week later, still no response. I've asked my credit union to step in and open an investigation. Heed my warning : do not move with this company. Original post : I scheduled an 8am move, the first appointment of the day. The crew didn't arrive until 9am because they went to their second appointment address before realizing the error. During the move they dropped my printer / scanner when I was out of sight but within earshot. They quickly recovered and didn't disclose this to me. Finally, when I paid with my card the processing machine was out of paper so 1) I had to give my card details over the phone to be processed manually; this circumvents all the security features we've built into today's cards and 2) I essentially had to pay twice because the first charge was already pending; it should resolve once it's not finalized but a serious inconvenience when moving to have an additional, unplanned and unnecessary layout of $425. On the brighter side, the crew was friendly and efficient. I tipped less than half of what I planned and will not use their service again.”

Finding this company was a gift from heaven. I dealt with a complete disaster as the movers I originally hired turned out to be super shady and unreliable. I wasn’t sure if they even would show up as they told me last minute they don’t have a truck unless I meet them at u-haul to rent one with them. The night before the move I desperately contacted a couple movers on thumbtack. I didn’t really had any hope that someone would be able to help me out so last minute. After a sleepless night I woke up at 5am and had received a very friendly message from Billy. I left my phone number and he called me shortly after. An item that was damaged. I tried to reconcile with the business but I got a bad run around. When I finally was in communication, I had to keep trying to call them back for days with no answer and a voicemail box that was full. When I finally was able to talk about the item, they said they would pay for it but only if I ordered the item first. They made a real effort to understand my needs when I wasn't sure if I knew what I needed. They didn't bat an eye when I had to change the moving date. The employees were right on time, very clean cut and wearing respectable clothes and polite. No chatter between them other than what was related to the job. I was very impressed with the way they handled my washer and dryer having to go up 2 flights of stairs. I could see it was really hard to do yet no swearing (I wouldn't have blamed them) Instead they were extremely safety conscious and kept making sure that they were being safe with each other as well as making sure walls weren't scraped. The team of three arrived right on time, to the minute! Kameron, Josh, and Michael were very friendly, gentle with our stuff and careful not to damage the walls with large and cumbersome objects. We had a lot of fragile items and they all made it to our new home without issue. I also had a large amount of shop tools and lumber that was awkward to pack as well as heavy and they didn't even blink. The price was nearly the lowest quote I received and the communication was extremely fast and responsive, that's what made me choose them to begin with. With the last few boxes coming out of the truck they stopped the clock and stopped charging while I signed the paperwork and they wrapped up. After the move I found that a small bench sander was bent in transit and when I contacted Amazing Moving they sent a check to replace the item without hesitation! Fantastic customer service. They even followed up a few days later to be sure I received the check. I will recommend Amazing Moving to everyone I know!”

The moving crew was also very helpful. To start they showed up on time and immediately started working. They even offered to break down my bed to carry it out.
