We moved from South end of boston to medfield MA. The crew led by Alan could not have been more professional and efficient. They showed up on time took 1, 10 minute break the whole day. They followed us to the house from the condo and did everything so quickly. They worked their tales off the entire day and we could not have asked for a better experience. There were no hidden fees the rate they provided in the quote was exactly what we paid. They wrapped 2 TVs a bedroom set couches and a hutch and everything arrived in the exact same condition. They disassembled and reassembled everything exactly where we asked them to. I would recommend A-PLUS moving to anyone and they now have a new customer for life. I have already referred 2 friends to use them in the next few months bc our experience was so positive. Offered us a 5% discount at the end if we paid in cash

I wish I could say my experience was what everyone else is leaving here but it wasn't. Afterall, I chose this service because of their great Yelp! reviews. The movers showed up within the time frame that they gave me (8:30 am - 10 am) which was great. The guys were nice and professional and everything started out smoothly. It wasn't until they started moving my biggest piece of furniture, my couch. Now I hired movers specifically for this piece as I needed movers to move it into my place as well. As soon as they started handling it I heard a crack and a few moments later the guy came in and stated he had broken one of the legs off of my couch. I asked them what compensation was going to look like but they said we would discuss it after the move was complete. The movers successfully got the couch down from the second floor. So, I thought everything was over with the move but upon leaving the top of the truck caught one of the wires leading to my apartment and ripped it from the house. This caused the whole home (multiple units) to lose internet/cable. I immediately went to the street level and at first, they didn't even address I was down there trying to talk to them. They were busy taping to wire to the tree to reinforce it. I wasn't sure if this was a live wire of electricity as well so I felt that it was best I called the Somerville Police to see if securing the road was needed. In addition to calling them and I called the cable company to put a work order in the for the wire. This overall caused about a 20-25 minute delay. This delay caused the movers to get a little anxious. So anxious to the point that one of the movers had the audacity to say to me that I was still on the clock being charged for this. Which is just ridiculous. They also started telling me that they would pay for the damages but if they get a moving violation for the truck they are not paying and I would be responsible. All of this was so ridiculous and unprofessional to be said to a paying customer for something this moving company caused themselves. Once the wire was reinforced - the moving truck left. They arrived at my destination and moved everything in. Now I wish I could say that the negotiations and their remorse for how nightmare-ish this whole move was reflected on their end - but it wasn't. They only comped 15 minutes (~ $35) for the delay in transport due to them always rounding down in quarter hours rather up to 30 minutes. They also said that they would negotiate (not FULLY cover) the cost of repairs of the couch when we presented an invoice for the incurred costs. Why would we need to negotiate the cost of damage caused by one of your employees? Ridiculous. I am sad that this was my experience, and I wish I could recommend them. But I never will instead I will tell them to never use A-Plus Moving.

I've been meaning to write a review for a while. I sent several moving companies identical yelp messages requesting quotes, A-Plus Moving came in cheapest and were one of the few willing to move me on a Sunday. The owner is very responsive on yelp and did a good job verifying everything for me. The movers showed up on-time and quickly loaded up the truck in Boston. Then they had to move us to our third-floor apartment in the south shore. They did grumble a lot about the stairs, but I can understand how badly so many stairs sucks in hot August. I was worried some of my belongings may have broken in the move, since I noticed many of my "fragile" boxes were at the bottom of large stacks in the truck. However, nothing got damaged. My final bill came pretty close to the quote Mike (the owner) gave me. These movers are fast, professional, and under-priced! Can't ask for more than that.

When I handled our move into Boston from California in Sept of 2016 and hires these guys, they were truly A PLUS. My stuff came on a freight truck. A Plus moved it off that 18 wheeler in Charlestown, repacked it into one of their own trucks, drove it to my apartment in Allston and hauled it up 4 flights of stairs. They were pleasant and quick throughout. Our stuff was fine! When we moved out last week (August 2018), my husband handled the move, and I told him to call A Plus. I admit I was not there...but never have I regretted recommending this business. They took an hour and half to travel from Charlestown to Allston. (Clock starts when they travel out of their warehouse.) My husband and his sister who were present repeatedly texted me throughout the move to tell me these guys were lollygagging: they were slow on purpose. When we unloaded the truck yesterday here in Chicago, we could see how little care was given to the packing of our things. We had purchased a box of 24 moving blankets. Only 6 were used and the rest were still in the box. Our coffee table needs to be replaced. I haven't unpacked yet...and now I'm a little scared to. Again, I wasn't there for the Boston move, but I was there in Chicago and I can compare time spent from the receipts. These guys took 1 hour longer to move our stuff down stairs than it took for our Chicago movers climb up stairs. 3 A Plus guys moving down 4 flights of wide stairs and with the occasional use of an old 1920s elevator vs. 3 Chicago based movers up down 3 steps and up 2 flights of cramped windy stairs. Shouldn't it be faster to move things down stairs???? My advice: (1) if you hire A Plus (or any movers) hire near the warehouse they travel out of. You are paying for their travel to your home, so you might as well pay as little as possible. (2) ask for certain movers by name. I am kicking myself for not remembering the guys who moved us in 2016, but look at reviews and see whose names commonly pop up in the last 3 or 6 months. Even if you don't get those particular movers, you reinforce the message to the moving company coordinators that you want good people. Good luck.

A-plus moving is without a doubt A plus. They helped us move within Boston and made the moving experience less painful. To start off with our moving experience, they were ON TIME. Punctuality is very important, especially when you have reserved an elevator the building for moving, you want your movers to be on time. They were great with moving the furniture. They disassembled the big pieces, and wrapped everything in blankets. TIP: offer them water, and let them use your bathroom. You gotta keep them happy! We left first to go to the new apartment. They told us they needed to put gas so would take an hour. They were there in an hour and unloaded, reassembled the furniture. These guys are efficient and strong. I couldn't be happier.

I used A-Plus Moving for my move that was ONE block down the road in South Boston, and while the guys that actually did the move were great, boy oh boy WAS THIS A DISASTER. I had scheduled the move for between 1-3PM on Friday, secured parking permits, etc. I used the messaging feature on Yelp to schedule the move, providing the new address and old address MULTIPLE TIMES. On Thursday before my move, someone from the office called to confirm my information, and I was confused when they stated that the starting address was in Everett. I spoke to the person in the office and updated the address to my apartment in South Boston and received written confirmation as well that the update had been made to the correct address. The move was only 0.2 mile from one apartment to the next, so knew that as long as the team arrived between 1 and 3PM, I would probably be able to get through things pretty quickly. When 2PM rolled around and I hadn't heard from the team, I decided to contact the office. After I called, the truck happened to have broken down - transmission issues - and a new truck was being sent to the guys. The issue here is - if the truck broke down, why didn't anybody reach out to me to let me know they would be running late?! Nobody from the office was planning to call me until I reached out to find out the status. Irritated, I continued to wait. At 3:45PM - 45 minutes later than the window - the team called that they were at my apartment. I was so excited until I looked out the window of my old apartment and the truck was nowhere to be seen. I asked the guy on the phone what address they were at, and much to my dismay, the team was in EVERETT. The Admin team at the office had never communicated the "new" (wasn't new) address to the moving team - the correct address was on a post-it in the office and not with the movers. I then had to wait ANOTHER HOUR until the movers arrived, and we didn't start our move until after 4:30PM. At this point, the parking permits had expired that I spent money on, and the team had to double park on the street. While the team moved quickly and were super diligent in their work, we didn't end up finishing the moving process until AFTER SEVEN. This would have been much longer if the distance was greater between my apartments. I was furious with the company, and although they took $100 off the total cost- it didn't make up for the fact that I had taken a half day at work to be there for the movers, and the frustration that came with it. Needless to say, pay the extra money and use a team that has reliable people scheduling the move and trucks that are working. A-Plus Movers needs to find a better process for communicating from the office to the team, as well as keeping open lines of communication between the team and the client.

This so called moving company has made my life a living nightmare. They did not move all of my things, rather they left some things behind. The things they did manage to put on the truck, they broke it. Moving into a new place is supposed to be exciting, this is by far the worst experience and I will NEVER use them again and suggest to others NOT to use them. I have a broken entertainment center along with a broken bed. Thanks, A Plus, for sending the worst movers ever and breaking everything. Save yourself the headache and use a different company. Had an AMAZING. Experience with these guys today. Best crew of all time - Vincent, Juan and Mo. They were on time (early actually which I love), super nice, extremely helpful, incredibly fast and nothing was damaged. Hopefully we don't move again for a few years but when we do I'm calling these guys. Highly recommended, I'll be telling plenty of friends about these guys.

Never finished the job. Had made 2 appointments to come back after several complaints. very unprofessional- Did not show up again. My building then hit me with fees for three days because all of the furniture hadn't been moved out after I was told they had gone back and completed the job. The poor management of this company shows within most of these reviews. We're still waiting on our reimbursement from October 7 when they came for less than an hour and charged $400+. Calling the BBB next.

A-Plus moved my parents today from a 5 bedroom of 48 years to a 2 bedroom 3 miles away. While it wasn't a big move as we got rid of many pieces of furniture they did a fantastic job! 4 guys, super professional and super helpful and kind to my elderly parents! I got their name from of friend of mine who just moved and she said they were incredible, she was so right! I emailed Mike today with this review but also wanted to post on yelp as I use yelp for everything! Please use this company, price was right as well!! It's very important to get referrals for movers! A-plus Moving Storage went above and beyond for my sons North End move in Boston. When the sofa couldn't make the turns in the steep staircase they took a window out and hoisted it through the window. They were super hard working guys and never complained. Highly recommend!!

I had a pleasant experience moving with A-Plus a couple of years back. They are also a bit cheaper compared to a lot of other movers in the area. So naturally, I hired them again but this time it is far from a pleasant experience. When they finished unpacking in my new place, one of them noticed that they had broken(and missing) one of the knobs in the dresser. Luckily for them, I have paid the cash already at the time. They told me that they will go down to the truck to look for it and report back in the apartment so that I can go down one last time to double check the truck is fully unloaded. A few minutes later, I saw the truck moving out of the apartment complex. I frantically checked my phone to see if there was at least a voicemail - NONE. That isn't professionalism, is it? They also missed to pack several small stuff in my old apartment like the base of the fan, etc. They have put several of boxes from my old apartment into the the new apartment's basement (could have just asked instead of deciding for me where my amazon packages go) I was given an option to add a mover to the originally planned 4 movers 1 truck option advising me that for a slight increase in hourly price it will be more efficient and might cost me less in the end. I agreed as it made sense on paper but I realized when they were unpacking, 5 movers is not at all required if they knew how to be efficient. In many occasions I was watching the 5th guy just wandering around looking for work. The small elevator and the narrow basement pathway in my new apartment didn't help save time either. After reporting it, the office felt bad and would like to document the behavior so I wrote them an email. I was given $35 as a refund to fix the knob but I don't know if I can even find one that suits it. At least the $35 dollars would help cover for their favorite pizza I order for them because I felt bad that they had come without having breakfast.

I used this company for a one bedroom move from Somerville, MA to Portland, ME and I'm very happy with the results. The rates were some of the best that I found locally, and the three movers that were assigned to me (Andrew, Chris and Ricardo) were incredibly professional and fast. They arrived at the correct time and clearly worked very hard to get my furniture in the truck quickly, despite the fact that they get paid by the hour AND that it was raining pretty much the whole time. They had to move some stuff up from a basement and down from the third floor in the Somerville apartment, then up again to the third floor apartment in Portland - all which had pretty narrow staircases which they were running up and down pretty much the whole time. They were careful with everything, including smaller breakable items, a few pieces of antique furniture, and various pieces of art and bagged up clothing that I had. They wrapped all the larger pieces of furniture and art with their own blankets and tape and unwrapped everything at the end. About halfway through their drive up to Portland their truck broke down and another one had to be driven up from Boston. They moved all my stuff from one truck to another and raced up here to get everything to me with only a few hours delay, unpacking everything in about an hour. Considering that they basically had to move my stuff 3 times that day, they never appeared to be frustrated or impatient and maintained a positive and professional demeanor throughout the whole process. The only thing that was damaged in the process was the top to one plastic storage bin that probably cost me $5 which frankly I didn't pack correctly in the first place so that's not really their fault. They didn't charge me for the time that the truck was broken down or when they were moving my stuff between trucks, even though they were definitely technically working during that period. They gave me a great discount for the wait, and despite being exhausted and waterlogged they were very careful and helpful with moving everything exactly where I needed it in the apartment. If I need to move again I will definitely think of this company first, thank you guys so much!

We used A-Plus moving again for our out-of-state move to Connecticut. And again, they did a great job. Two movers came right on time in the morning, packed the truck quickly (about 1.5-2 hours) and methodically, and found our new apartment without an issue. They then unpacked just as quickly as they packed and placed everything where we asked. My only gripe would be that some of our items weren't wrapped in plastic so a few pieces were dinged up. But when I emailed A-Plus to notify them about the damaged pieces, they were quick to offer a small refund to help with damages. Overall, a solid, reliable company with excellent customer service.

Michelle and his crew, it was flawless! They were friendly and fun, highly efficient and fast. I can't say what a relief it was to have such a positive experience.
