“ I chose Smart Move because of the reviews, I had never needed to hire a moving company. My wife and I were both recovering from surgeries (a total knee replacement and a shoulder) so we were unable to move our household the 2.2 miles to the new location. Talking to Brandon Hodges on the phone and through e-mail, I felt confident the move would go smoothly. An employee (Bracken) came out to see our household goods and get an estimate. All looked good until packing day… There were a few issues, both on the packing and moving days. Of these issues, some were in the company’s control and some were not. Of the issues not in there control… Corry, who led the teams on both days, did his best to overcome. I have been in contact with Brandon and passed on my appreciation for Corry’s efforts. As for the issues that were in there control… As I said, I have talked to Brandon and he has addressed them. Brandon is easy to talk to, understanding, and patient. He was also willing to refund a percentage of the moving cost as compensation for the issues we did encounter. For this and his professionalism, I was very grateful. As for the move itself… Everything got there, on the day it was scheduled (very important to us as we were buying and closing at the same time). And there was no damage. The few high-value items we had were treated as such, and extra time was taken to insure they made the trip intact. All in all I would recommend Smart Move and would use them in the future.”

“ Do not hire this company and allow the workers to be around your family, belongings, or home. We were stopped at a gas station with our children. My boyfriend was getting a few things inside and came out to the gas pumps stating a man behind him in line was being rude and impatient. The man came out yelling, trying to call my boyfriend over from the ice machine to fight him. And started making comments to me as I was pumping gas. Before I could get a picture of his udot number, the man started yelling out of his truck "to call his work, "he's the boss" and will answer the phone right now." Very aggressive and unprofessional behavior, especially while driving a Smart Move Truck with another employee inside. For yours and your family's safety, stay away.”

“ The moving process seemed like it was going well at first, until we started unpacking... they did not do a good job of labeling items and took forever to find random things in random places and still haven’t found even simple bathroom items. Things were left scattered and unorganized. We bought them lunch and even tipped them $400 for removing trash etc. then, i found out i was Rich had lied to me saying that the boxes and everything else were included in the hourly rate, and they weren’t. They hit you with tons of small charges for wardrobe moving and more which i did not even request, nor was i told about. The move took a total of two 8hour shifts and they charged $3600. Don’t be taken advantage of and look elsewhere. This company is definitely not worth the money, nor are they upfront about the costs. Would not recommend.”

“ Smart Move is not only a SUPER professional moving company in their attitudes, communication, work ethic, fair pricing, and stamina, but we also were so appreciative of their willingness to help us out of a bind! Long story short, we unfortunately were victims of a scam by a different moving company called Mastermind Movers, who left us high and dry on our scheduled moving day (minus our first half deposit!). Needless to say, it was a bit of a traumatic experience! Not to mention we HAD to leave the following day to make it to Texas (where we were moving) in time for my husband’s job orientation! So...SUPER stressful!!! We were lucky enough to find Smart Move SLC through a friend, and we were NOT disappointed! Matt was so kind and helpful, and empathetic of our situation, and he managed to help us out by getting his guys out there ASAP the very next day to get all our things moved into storage quickly and professionally, so we had time to plan out how to move our items all the way to Texas! Matt was EXCELLENT at communicating and that was such a relief to know that everything was being taken care of! We can’t say enough how grateful we are for their professionalism! Matt also brought out an extra guy to help out and get the move done quicker, which was such a blessing! Everything was done quickly, professionally, and with sooo much care! They wrapped everything and did soo much to make sure our items were safe and cared for! My parents and brother were there to help and direct them as to what was leaving and they were all sooo impressed as they saw them pack everything up and with how they cared for our belongings! They even took the time to help to move items from a different storage unit we had to consolidate it with our items in our home so they could all be put into One storage unit to save us some money! Oh, and did I mention, all the guys there came directly from a different moving job that morning, so they were THIS professional and fast after already having a long day? All because we were in a bind and they were willing to squeeze in an extra job to help! We can’t say enough how much of a healing balm it was to have such a great experience with Smart Move SLC after such a horrible one with a different moving company! Jason, Fran, Jonny, Brian, and AJ were the guys who were there to move us and also Matt the owner of the company, and we cannot say enough how impressed and appreciative we are of their work! The pricing was MORE than fair, and for the service and work we received, we only wish we had hired them first and saved ourselves the trauma and financial loss of hiring the scam company that seemed like a “good deal” at the time! THIS COMPANY is a good deal!!! And the REAL DEAL!! Lesson learned for us! But save yourselves the heartache and just go with Smart Move SLC for your move, and YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!”
