The next day, Doug gave me a call back and scheduled a Zoom call with me to figure out what I wanted to move and the logistics of moving our stuff out of our apartment building. He was very professional over Zoom and was able to immediately schedule my move and send me the contract and bill for the move. “ I'm from the area but live out-of-state and needed to quickly find a moving crew that could clear out my mother's one bedroom apartment into a storage unit. I know all about the larger moving companies from being in the military but this was a last minute, sensitive, small move. My mother just passed away and time was of the essence. Happy 2 Help Moving & Hauling was recommended by a family friend. We spoke to Doug on a Monday afternoon advising that we needed to move the same week, preferably that Friday. By Tuesday evening he spoke with us and did a verbal estimate based on the information given to him about what was being moved. At the time of the call, we didn't even have a storage unit yet. Doug was able to give an estimate based on some of the ones being looked at based on distance. He stated that Friday was available without a problem. Because of Doug's professional demeanor and clear cut estimate given, we knew we were going with this company. Doug advised he needed a storage address by Wednesday to secure the Friday time slot with a deposit, and would send an E-contract via email once he had all the details needed to complete it. By Wednesday morning, he was given all the info needed and by early that afternoon the E-contract was received and deposit paid. Friday, move day... Everything was packed, sorted and ready but unfortunately the scheduled move before me involved some unforeseen, uncontrollable difficulties for Doug and crew. He communicated with me and kept me in the loop on ETA. Once Happy 2 Help Moving & Hauling arrived, they were on it! Doug surveyed the move area, and was pointed out what was going and what was not...which was already clearly sorted and separated. Within 60-90 minutes, if that, the apartment was cleared, loaded and ready to go to storage. The storage unit was only 7 mins/3 miles away. However, in true "what else can happen '' fashion, there was a loading/unloading issue with the storage property, which I had noticed earlier in the day when making sure the property was ready. For brief (go figure) reference, the facility was a climate controlled storage unit with one elevator and a broken exit door at the loading area. So only one way in and one way out with multiple moves occuring at the same time. A nightmare to say the least but had absolutely nothing to do with the moving crew. I wasn't aware of the door issue until move day and advised Doug of it when meeting him. I felt terrible about the circumstances and Doug was cool, calm, collective and about his business with trying to help find solutions by speaking to some other moving crews there at the time that seemed to be almost done or saying they were done but blocked in by others. After some time but not too long, since it was the last move of the day, he asked if I was comfortable leaving my things in his locked truck and coming back first thing in the morning. Knowing the issue in front of us, I was more than willing to work with this man and his business that was willing to work with me, on my unforeseen and uncontrollable difficulties. Saturday morning, Doug and the crew (same guys) pulled up with me at exactly @6am. Thankfully, we didn't encounter any of the issues from the day before other than that broken exit door. Happy 2 Help Moving & Hauling were just as courteous, efficient, effective, productive, and resourceful first thing in the morning as they were for the last job of the day. Again within 60-90 minutes they were done! All this with moving to a third floor storage unit, with one elevator, and the unit being literally on the total opposite end of the floor from the elevator. I am more than pleased with Doug and the two gentlemen working with him. I will absolutely be calling on Happy 2 Help Moving & Hauling again for what will most likely be an out-of-state move for the same things in the future or even just my own things from where I am currently to wherever I end up next. This is more than supporting a black owned business, which is a plus, but this is about supporting a well owned business!”
