We moved from the heart of Chicago out to the NW suburbs, about a 45 minute drive. The process started on the right foot with Jimmy answering my call, walking me through the process, and sending me a quote. He knew his stuff and seemed to love his job. Very enjoyable to talk with. We had a morning move scheduled. Luis called an hour before the scheduled start saying they’d be a little early, which was nice. His crew was rounded out by Jay and Alex. All three were great guys and busted their chops to get the move done in four hours, which was quicker than the quoted five. Like Jimmy, they were fun to talk with. We would absolutely recommend Crescent to anyone. We researched a handful of companies and they were the lowest price, just like they were five years ago. And just like five years ago, the service was outstanding!”

“ We had a contract with Crescent Movers to move 12-14 pieces of furniture, all detailed and accounted for when booking and scheduling our move with Jimmy. Brian called 48 hours before the scheduled move to ask if we could change the move date. We said that was unacceptable. He said no problem, and asked if we could move the time of the move forward a few hours. We agreed that would be fine. It appears they subcontracted out to Wolley Movers. The morning of the move, Wolley arrived with 3 men in a moving truck, stepped into our home, looked around, told us it was a 4-man job, that they had another move at 1:00pm and that they were not going to move our furniture. One of the 3 movers walked away and was picked up by a car down the block. The other two LEFT with the truck—on moving day—without moving a single piece of furniture. Dozens of calls, in addition to an email and voicemail to Crescent Movers went unreturned. How can a moving company subcontract out work, leave its customers without any options on the day of their scheduled move, and not even call to apologize let alone offer additional solutions? Unprofessional, frustrating and upsetting. Do not recommend it.”

“ I’ve used crescent movers now three times personally and have referred them to a bunch of my friends over the years. They have always been great… until this last time. Short story is that we had called to book them. Jimmy swore that he had us down for the day we needed to move and that we would get a quote via email and we could sign and pay our deposit… which never came. We called back 3 times and on the 4th time we had to say that we were not going to get off of the phone until Jimmy confirmed the move. He then asked if it had to be that day—yes, it has to be that day because WE'RE MOVING and have sold our house! So, clearly he never booked us. He ended up making a way to happen in the schedule. The day of the move, our team showed up and had just finished 2 or 3 other jobs. They had drastically underestimated how much stuff we had. They ended up having to get a second truck and a second team. The cost more than doubled. The move was quoted at 4 hours. It took 9+. The movers were great… but they were exhausted… they’re human beings after all. They were a bit slow because they were clearly tired and at the end of the night ~10:30pm they were having a hard time getting our furniture in… lots of dents, scratches in our furniture and brand new walls. I don’t blame the moving teams, I blame the management and Jimmy. Will never use it again, I highly advise caution if you want to book these guys. There are better companies out there.”
