I was very concerned about a 60+ year old dining set that belonged to my late Grandma and while I did not go into the history behind these pieces prior to the move, the crew listened to my concerns, removed and carefully packaged several glass shelves and delivered this set with great care. You see, whether spoken or unspoken there are times when furniture is not just furniture. I had initially considered U-Haul self storage pods but thankfully they were sufficiently painful to deal with up front that they scared me away. After doing some searching online I found Camelback Moving and I have to say that they were delightful to deal with from start to finish. They were very clear setting expectations and explaining the process from beginning to end and arranging the move was really very easy. Their crews, loading and then delivering back to the house were very polite, professional and really seemed to care about doing a good job. We were even lucky enough to have one guy who was the same on both ends, Dave C., who was wonderful. These guys had clearly been trained well as everything was wrapped, padded and packed very carefully. I've moved more than 20 times in my life and sadly have had a few very bad ones, but this was a pleasant surprise. NEVER have I called a moving company that only wants to quote on the telephone and really not make the effort to visit the home of a potential customer. I don't know about other folks, but I cannot do business this way. I called needing packing materials, full pack, move, unpack and clean up of all materials. The person on the phone based my move into an 1800 sq ft home even though I do not yet know where I am going in the PHX area, but certainly not to that large of a home, as I told him I am downsizing from 2,000 sq. ft. He finally agreed to send someone out on or after Jan. 5th. He also said the cost would be $239/hour, based upon the day of the week, which happens to be on a Friday! WHAT!!?? I have never felt so put off by a moving company that comes with such good recommendations. Guess it just wasn't my day ~ it certainly isn't a company with which I will do business. No sense of appreciation, whatsoever, and lacking good customer service skills. I was truly shocked!”
