“ Asheville Area Movers have redefined the term "caveat emptor". This company was retained to pack and move my 83 year mother from Asheville to Palm Beach. Her possessions were minimal furniture, but extremely valuable artwork. Obviously, the first question was insurance and we were assured, even asking for details, that they had full coverage for the move. They sent a packer to my mother's apartment in Asheville who was drunk and ultimately was found in the woods. Needless to say, the damage to my mother's artwork and antique furniture was extensive and as we later would learn, the insurance coverage was negligible. This company went completely dark and never stepped up to the plate to confront the situation nor would they respond to repeated requests to settle what was, ultimately, a $50,000 claim. We are suing them here in Florida. "Caveat Emptor" folks, do not use this company.”

Far and away the worst move of many moves we have experienced thru the years. Numerous fine furniture pieces damaged and expensive lamps damaged/destroyed. If you are planning any type of move or know someone who is, please stay away from ASHEVILLE AREA MOVERS. We certainly wished we had.”

“ There are several areas of excellence that make for a great move. We recently moved from the Asheville, NC area to Coastal South Carolina. Among our possessions we needed to move a grand piano, large paintings and statues. Everything arrived in perfect condition and placed where we desired. However, just as important for us is the attitude and demeanor of the movers. John and I interacted with over ten men during the preparations, packing and a moving of our possessions. They were all kind and helpful. Nevertheless, we need to praise the four men who brought our possessions to our new home. They are Ryan, Jamal, Jaques, and Nate. “ We hired Asheville Area Movers to help with unloading our truck into an upstairs apartment when we arrived from Vermont. We had a full 16 foot truck and being new to the area we didn’t have any friends we could ask to help, which is what led us to calling around to hire moving help. While this wasn’t the cheapest option, they had the best reviews and when I called for a quote Kyle was very responsive and helpful. Joey called us about an hour before our appointment time saying they could come a bit early which was perfect because we’d just gotten in from an 18 hour drive and couldn’t do much in our empty apartment. Joey and Greg worked very quickly, carrying things alone that we would have needed two people for! They were efficient and respectful. Thank you for a great and easy truck unloading experience!”

Once they finished loading the truck, they were under the impression that they were just going unload the following day, we were under the impression that they were going to unload the same day. Nathaniel Crosby stepped up and said, we're going to get the job done for you no matter what. The other guys were totally game, and knocked out the job. “ Terrible company. I would have done better to rent a truck myself and hire someone off the street. One bedroom moving 20 miles to two bedroom took them 7 hours. I didn’t have a lot of furniture but lots of boxes. The truck wasn’t big enough, they had no tools or dolly, had to gas up the truck in the middle of this debacle PLUS disappeared to somewhere for an hour. Just threw my boxes in the middle of the room instead of taking them to the room labeled on the box. Missing two items and finally got them back. The office person kept saying he would call me back and never did. I guess he figures people will get tired of calling and give up. Don’t believe any good reviews of this company....family and friends don’t count!!!! Please don’t waste your money on these people! EDIT: I spoke to Brendon one of the owners. Very concerned local owner. He will refund me the difference between the quote and the actual price and I’m very pleased. I support local businesses as much as I can. I will up my rating two stars and urge Brendon to have more hands on knowledge about the day to day goings on.”

“ The guys were polite and hard working, but packing the trucks and storage facility left much to be desired. Everything had shifted in the truck by the time they got to the storage facility (we are building a home,) and It looked like the boxes and furniture were thrown in to the storage rooms instead of neatly placed. I should have taken pictures to add to this. There is no organization at all and we will be surprised if we don’t find multiple broken pieces when we finally get it out. We have moved multiple times and have never had quite the mess we have now. I would not use them again. They got a ticket for having a commercial vehicle on a National Park Service road the morning they were delivering to the storage facility, and one of the guys stewed and complained about this the whole morning. Overall, not a good experience.”

“ They were over 2 hours late showing up, they showed up at the wrong location, they took a lunch break an hour into the move and they broke a leg on my table. I work 60+ hours a week and have a baby so sorry I haven’t called to express this. I was hoping your company would call us and do a follow up. This cost us $500, I do not recommend.”
