I needed a large container for my upcoming move. I called '1-800 PackRat,' 'PODs' and 'Go Mini's.' The service at both PackRat and PODs was atrocious. I was put on hold for lengthy periods of time while each of the customer service reps fumbled through my estimates over the phone. When I gave them the price I had been quoted from 'Go Mini's' they simply could not compete. This solidified my decision to reserve a container through Go Mini's and I have not been dissappointed. 1) Go Mini's is the ONLY container rental service with a 20' container. The 'lesser' competitors max out at 16'. 2) Go Mini's is LOCALLY OWNED and every person I've dealt with has been both PLEASANT and PROFESSIONAL. 3) Their pricing beats out everyone else. These folks came out to our place to drop of 2 pods so we could begin a pack up and relocate. Since we have a narrow access way to the designated landing spot they needed to maneuver carefully so as not to cause damage to some of the hardscape of the home we had sold. There was only a couple of weeks before we were to close escrow so we needed immediate delivery and cartage. Things did not go well both on arrival and departure as damage to block and brick items was substantial. The two drivers were relatively young and likely did not have much experience. When the damage occurred the tension heated up pretty quick and the drivers were VERY, very uncooperative in providing copies of licenses, registration or insurance liability for the vehicles. They kept insisting we call the office and speak to the office manager or owner. Bear in mind they were on private property not on the public thoroughfare when the damage occurred. In short we found out they have had problems in the past carrying the appropriate licenses to operate their trucks at all and we had to make an insurance claim to get the $$ to fix the retaining wall and mailbox they smashed up. The owner Michael Lohman was absolutely not helpful or responsive to any of our phone contacts or letters. Many thanks to State Farm who got an adjuster out, handled our claim quickly and eventually chased down this company's liability insurance to get their money back. We managed to close escrow but it was a bit later than expected and the repairs didn't match perfectly. Lucky for us the new owners didn't make a huge fuss. BEWARE of this company and their business practices as they appear to think they are above the laws of the state and only want your money.”

I went with Go Mini as they were the only provider to offer a truly climate storage container. Many other providers say they offer climate controlled, but when you get down to it, the temperature is not regulated. On the containers I used, there was an independent AC unit which offered true climate controls. One note on these units though is that the AC unit is at the back of the container and should be switched on prior to loading. Go Mini did not mention this to me with my first container until it was already packed and ready for pickup. That was very frustrating. The drop off of the unit for packing and original pickup were very smooth. The company was able to move quickly and on short timelines. I was very appreciative. The destination drop off, on the other hand, was poorly coordinated. There is no online reservation system or confirmation that you are actually scheduled to receive your container on the day you requested it to be delivered. Despite providing 20 days notice of when I wanted my container delivered, my container was not delivered as requested. The company did deliver the container the next business day, but this caused issues with scheduling movers and other dependencies. Because there is no online reservation or visible confirmation of scheduling, you must stay on top of the them to get your container delivered as desired. The manager was respectful of the situation, but it did provide much more stress than was necessary. With a simple reservation and notification system, this could have been avoided.”

This was the best way for us to move all of our stuff since we had lag time in getting into our new place. Everyone was timely, friendly and professional. All of the requested items for packing (blankets, etc) were there when the pod was delivered. The only thing that work as requested is that I had asked that the smaller of the two pods be delivered first so that we could maximize our time and get the second pod returned before 3pm. Instead the larger of the two pods was delivered first so we had over an hour of dead time in-between pods and we were paying the movers by the hour. Even tho it didn't happen as I had hoped, we still got the job done and the last pod was delivered before your deadline. I wasn't sure how this arrangement with the pods and several movers was going to work but it was a great way to do it. Thank you. We would use you again and will recommend you to our friends.”
