Give them money if you want your possessions and dignity trampled on. The telephone conversation with Armando was hugely unpleasant. Planning a move was stressful enough. Did I want to be laughed at when I couldn't recall the exact distance from the back door to the stairwell? Was being questioned for my intelligence how I wanted to be treated as a customer paying $1,000+? In person, his contempt for me and his job was oppressive: he made no conversation and did not wrap my furniture. He spat in my driveway, and vaped on my neighbor's porch while I settled the bill with the company. After he left I found shoe prints on two of my boxes which held my prized vinyl collection--did he have to stand on them to see whether they would hold up? Luckily, thanks to my diligent packing and the quality of material I used, nothing was damaged or stolen, and I'll never have to call this company again.”

Movers arrived an hour before stated time on move day which turned out to be ideal. TJ and his associate were efficient, careful and friendly and got everything safely to and into our new place in under the allotted three-hour window. They wrapped all of our furniture with blankets and shrink wrap, provided wardrobe boxes for the clothing, had a spacious truck and they provided their own dolly and other equipment. PLEASE make sure your movers wear a mask during the move. Did a move with them recently and it went generally ok. What scared/bothered me was the foreman person didn't have the mask on the whole time while he was in our home. The other mover who moved things in and out did have the mask on. It's pretty scary as the Covid cases in California is skyrocketing. Now I feel like I need to avoid seeing my family for a week to make sure I wasn't exposed. I really shouldn't have gone through with the move but unfortunately it was the last day of my lease at my old location and I was out of options. Not cool”

I cannot understand how anyone can leave a bad review for this company! They're probably the type of people that yell at flight attendants too. West Coast Moving Systems helped me move from Oakland to Sacramento a month ago. They were accommodating with my move date and were so helpful over the phone. I had not thought of half of the details about my move until the operations manager went over my items with a virtual estimate. They then followed up with an in-person estimate (which was free). They seemed to know what they were doing, so I chose them. Move day was a breeze! Their movers came within the window they gave me and they were very friendly. They even had the right tools to reassemble my bed! I was able to get a good night sleep in my new home the very first night I moved in because of West Coast Moving Systems. I’ve used these guys a couple times over the years...The first time I used them it was from San Francisco , Ca to Sacramento, Ca. They came out ahead of time told me the price and they stuck to it. It was a difficult move I had 3 flights of stairs in SF and some nice heavy furniture. I remember Alex he was a beast of a mover. I will admit that they weren’t the cheapest but i thought it was reasonable for the job I paid $1800.00 for everything to be packed up and moved.The second move was a few years later this last May, 2013. Again, they came out and gave me a price that I thought was again fair for the job. Robby, Antonio, And Tony were excellent. Day before the move, I get a confirmation call and and questions regarding finer details (where should the truck park, what moving material they’ll need to bring, etc) Day of move, I get a call 20 minutes before our appointment time, with the movers letting me know they’d be right on time! I hired West Coast Moving Systems to move my relatively small amount of personal possessions distributed between two locations. Driving to point A, point B, and then to my final new apartment destination as well as loading and unloading at those stops took less than two hours all in all! They almost made it look too easy. I’ve never hired professional movers before, and even though it’s considerably more expensive than the scrappy strategy of renting a truck and enlisting friend labor (especially if you don’t own a ton of stuff), it’s really such a relief. I had never even heard of wardrobe boxes before, but they are essentially tall boxes with a bar so you don’t even have to pack your hanging clothes, the movers just transport them from closet to closet for you. Smoothest move I’ve ever done by far.”

This post is a bit overdue, but I have been meaning to give West Coast Moving Systems a shining review! DJ, Alberto, and Juan were the ones helping me with my move. From the get-go, the communication was easy and prompt. After a 15 minute first call with West Coast, they assessed that the move would in total take about 6-6.5 hours, including the drive. I was initially surprised by this number, considering another moving company I had called estimated less time with fewer movers. However, West Coast really knew what they were talking about; it took exactly 6.5 hours to move, including the drive. There was no downtime even with our 3 movers, so I really don’t know how the other company expected to do the move in less time with fewer movers. My only conclusion was that West Coast has done this so much that, based on my description to them about our furniture and the route to the parking lot in our apartment, they were able to provide us with an accurate quote. I was so impressed by DJ, Alberto, and Juan’s rapid wrapping and packing of our belongings. They were so efficient, able to wrap our king size mattress in the matter of a minute. They wrapped everything with a Saran-wrap looking material, from our ottoman to our dressers. Not a single thing was chipped or dented when they unwrapped everything. Additionally, upon entering our new place, they put down more wrap for them to walk on, so that our new floor wouldn’t get so dirty from their shoes. As a shoes-off family, I was so grateful for that little detail. In the packing process, they also let us use a couple of their wardrobe boxes for our hanging clothes, pillows, and our fragile instruments (thank goodness, because I only bought one--whoops!). I was so relieved they were so much more prepared than I was. Furthermore, they have mad skills driving that giant truck. When we got to our new apartment complex, there was actually another moving truck already parked in the area usually reserved for moving trucks. However, our 3 amazing movers maneuvered the giant truck into a spot that didn’t block traffic and also was better situated than the other truck. I still have no idea how they subverted the laws of physics to do that. Ultimately, working with West Coast Moving Systems changed my perspective on moving! I truly could not have imagined doing this all on my own. It took such a weight of stress off me. Thank you, West Coast!”

Besides having some of the best prices, everyone I dealt with was very friendly. They made the process very easy & smooth from the beginning. TJ & his partner were really easy going, but hard working. Eric, the owner of the company, reached out to us. He personally helped us resolve the issue to our satisfaction. It seems like there was some miscommunication regarding this issue, and he assured us that they would address this internally so they do a better job moving forward. While this should never have happened in the first place, I’m willing to give the company the benefit of the doubt and would be open to hiring them for future moves. It’s been more than 3 months since we submitted a claims form to this company for our damaged kitchen cart. After countless calls and e-mails, we are still waiting to receive our check, and our contact at the company, Rob, stopped responding. We’ve tried to be as patient as possible, but have had enough of the lack of response, the accusatory tone implying that we damaged the item ourselves, and insistence that the damage to our solid wood kitchen cart is not covered because it is "particle board". Mind you that the liability rate of $0.60 is nowhere near the price of the damaged item. I will give credit where credit is due. The move itself, aside from this, went very well. We also appreciated the attempts after the move to fix the damage to the cart. It is understandable that accidents happen, but it is hard to appreciate the lack of respect and the hesitation to honor the contract. Stay away. There are plenty of other options out there...”

I moved from a 1 bedroom apartment into a townhome within Oakland and they sent 2 guys (they probably should have sent 3). The estimated move time was 3 hours, the move took closer to 5. There was a lot of stairs in the townhome and they were moving as fast as they could. None of my items were damaged in the move (thanks!)! They wrapped all items that might have gotten damaged in the move like dressers, dining tables, and couches. They also offer breaking down furniture. They are not allowed to build cribs but they can take them apart which I appreciate! Not sure I’d want someone else building a crib for me anyways so it wasn’t an issue! The movers were very professional they are the ones who deserve 5 stars! The reason I originally did 3 stars was because of the cost and under estimating the move time. Yes - I know it’s an estimate but 2 additional hours is a lot longer and would have helped to have 3 movers. ***Update! The owner reached out to me looking to making things right which validates how great their customer service is! They really do strive for great customer service and it’s really what they deliver on. I am absolutely positive I’ll move again, and I will be booking their services. The only thing I’ll be more understanding of is how much stuff we have and just opt for the addition person upfront!”

During this pandemic crisis and shelter in place orders, I was anxious and apprehensive around moving. The movers that came to my home, Anthony and Brook, were both incredibly professional and thoughtful about the measures needed to keep us safe during the move. They kept a safe distance and wore protective gear. They respected our space in our home when we were near. It was necessary and thoughtful. The move was done in a reasonable amount of time, they were incredibly careful with my furniture, shrink wrap and furniture pads on everything, I have zero damage (this is not always the case with movers!). I was happy with how everything was placed in my new home, and our unpacking was very easy because of how well these two guys did. Last thing to note - A piece of art was left on the truck. If I could give West Coast Moving Systems 10 starts I would. They were incredibly professional, courteous, affable and efficient from start to finish. We moved from San Francisco to San Diego and from the get go they gave us a reasonable and accurate estimate on cost (it never went up or down) and time (we opted for the non-expedited schedule.) The initial movers arrived on time and packed up our two bedroom house and were off in the truck about four hours later. Everything was packed well and nothing was broken. Within 15 minutes of them leaving, the dispatcher/coordinator called me with an initial estimate of delivery in three days. Sweet! (the range is up to seven business days.) The next day he called again to let us know it would be arriving a day earlier than that! Even more sweet! The delivery end driver called us about 15 minutes prior to the delivery window to say he’s almost there. Our complex is a little tight and somehow he shimmied the giant truck in here. It was a sight to behold. Stellar truck driving skills on that guy. They unloaded in about two hours and were on their way. Moving always comes with some level of stress or trauma. It was a relief to have picked a moving company that was this professional and communicative. If you’re moving within California, do yourself a favor and scratch out everyone on your list and jus call West Coast Moving Systems first.”
