This past Sunday (yes, SUNDAY!), we had Travis and his team in our town home to move our belongings back into the home to which we were having renovations done. Travis came in, introduced himself and his team and immediately went to work. Several things stood out. First, EVERY member of the team was professional and courteous. They treated us with respect. There was no "NO" with this team. You want that moved? No problem. Extra things packed? No problem. I'm sorry, I didn't mention that in the contract. "No problem. These guys made a difficult move easy. That's all we heard during their time with us. "We're here to make your life easier". "We'll take care of it so you don't have to worry about it". I've only used one moving company in the past and that was 28 years ago. I never saw them or spoke with them. This group would do whatever we needed and then did it. No questions asked. And it was INEXPENSIVE! Do the math! Let Travis and his team come in, pack (or not) and move you into your new home so you can concentrate on your stuff. They absolutely have the move part covered. Hope I don't need to move again, but if we do, we'll definitely be using Vector (and we'll be requesting Travis!).”

I interviewed several moving companies for a move from a second home in San Diego to our home in the mountains. I was impressed with the estimator from Vector Moving so we decided to hire them. Originally the plan was to pack everything on Friday and move on Saturday. Then three days before the scheduled move I find out a snow storm is predicted for our mountain town with 4 to 8 inches of snow forecast. This might not be an issue in Lake Tahoe or somewhere that gets a lot of snow, but sadly our little town is usually last on the list to get plowed — especially the street we live on. I called Vector and they sent five guys on Friday morning — they packed, had everything loaded by noon and were unpacking their truck by mid-afternoon. We were able to get completely moved before the storm hit. And yes, we did get 4 inches of snow on Saturday and it’s still snowing now (Sunday). We were so grateful for the wonderful packers and movers: Vugar, Nikolay, James, Bastion and Yegor. They were fast, friendly, strong, and very professional. It was the easiest move we’ve made in a very long time. I recommend Vector Moving very highly! Thank you so much for making so much work seem so effortless!”

The good: communication was easy prior to their help. The movers showed up on time and worked hard to unload everything quickly. The guys were really nice and did exactly what I had asked in terms of where things went. The bad: unfortunately, the truck had dirt on the floor (or something) and they tracked it into the house. I've had movers put down plastic or paper on carpets to prevent this before, but it didn't happen here and the carpets were really dirty. I didn't know this as I was outside making sure everything got put where it needed to go. I emailed the person I had worked with to set up the move and never heard anything from them. I just went ahead and had the carpets that were dirty cleaned for $200. So, I would give them higher ratings but the lack of response when an issue came up would make me very nervous about using them again in the future. Update: they paid for the carpet to be cleaned. The move happened around a holiday and so they were slower than usual to respond. So they have corrected the problem and I appreciate that. I got a call from someone and they were very good to correct the problem.”

Miracle workers. I got into a motorcycle accident a few days before my scheduled move across town. I packed what I could, but with a broken leg, that wasn't much. Matt, Joe and Ed showed up on time, packed everything that I couldn't in a heartbeat, were extra careful with all of my electronics and moved me over. These guys make moving look easy, and being that this isn't my first move, I most certainly know it's not. I was blown away by the speed, the quality, and the care. The manager even called the next day to follow up and make sure that everything went well. There are certain things in life you should be cheap about, moves are not one of those things. DO NOT use Vector moving for any reason. First, they underestimated the size truck we would need, and so we literally needed to get rid of 8 lounge chairs, an antique wash stand, an office desk, and an end table. When they brought our furniture to our new address, they were so intent on leaving, they didn't even take shrink wrap off of our furniture. Plus that, our bedroom furniture, which was only 4 months old, is scarred irreparably. When I first changed our beds, I had to figure out how to put the bed frame together, because it fell apart. Last, but certainly not least, they totally trashed a one hundred and ten year old antique card table. Inlaid wood and all. Oh, I forgot...two pieces of Waterford crystal and a crystal decanter. Remember, you get what you pay for, and Vector moving is a prime example. Go ahead and spend a few more dollars on a company that will actually take care of your belongings. I would never trust my belongings to Vector and no one else should either.”

Lack of communication about time of arrival and not wearing masks are my biggest complaints. I had a 4 hour window (12-4) waiting for a call, I got a text at 3:54pm saying it would be closer to 5. This was frustrating because I had wasted an entire afternoon waiting & had to cancel evening plans, and when I asked for a discount they offered an insulting $13 off.. when the drivers finally arrived they didn't even have masks on, but did a good job other than that.. hope nobody gets covid!”
