Scheduled a move for 3PM. I was told that they might run up to an hour late, and I was fine waiting for a little bit; lots of people are moving this time of year. After 2 hours I called Heather, who had contacted me the day before, and was assured that the movers were on the way and probably nearby. I ended up waiting until 8PM. I have used them twice. The first was great. They were well organized and friendly. They unloaded a uhaul for me into a storage facility. That is why I went back to them. But the second occurrence was not as good. They did not bring the proper equipment for moving heavy objects and getting ahold of the office has been an issue. Thankfully I dont need to move again but some of my stuff was left at the storage facility, that I now have to continue to pay for, until I can find someone else to move it.”

This can be understandable as I know things can run longer with other clients etc. but the communication and customer service were really subpar.”

Scheduled for a move....no show and no communication back. We were given a number for Heather who stated if we had any questions or concerns to call her in which case we did. She never answered my girlfriend’s calls however when we called from a different number she answered...and when we explained the movers had not arrived she said she would follow up...well she never did and stopped answering all calls from us. The company’s website states they are open till 9p however when we called it stated they were close. Our furniture had to be stored back and this was a complete inconvenience as our furniture was never picked up for delivery to our new place! Will also report to the better business of bureau...totally unacceptable!”

I ordered the service weeks in advance, was confirmed, and on the day of the move they simply did not show up. I tried to call the two numbers and got no answer. Be warned. I have not heard from the company and no one has explained or even apologized for leaving me high and dry on the day of my move, with all my things packed, and ready to go. Not a pleasant experience. Please pay attention to the negative reviews and do not hire Up & Down movers if you care about your furniture. We hired Up & Down Movers in September to move 3.5 miles from an apartment into a house. I corresponded multiple times with the office manager, Heather Lynn via phone and e-mail. It was confirmed (twice) that we would need a mattress cover and I gave an inventory of all the furniture that we needed to move, and that we would need furniture covers and proper wrapping. I made sure to ask Heather about their policy for damaged items, because all our furniture is antique, mid century modern, and I wanted to ensure that in case anything was damaged, we would be compensated. Heather referred me to the website where they have their company policy that states that they will reimburse customers for damages caused by movers. Moving day comes and two hours after the start time, the movers finally show up with a 10 foot truck (we had a 16ft truck reserved, in writing) and only two furniture pads, and no mattress cover. The movers assured us that they would be very careful with our furniture. Hours longer and hundreds of dollars more than our quoted move (due to the smaller truck than we were originally booked), we were finally moved into the house. I had to get on the phone with the owner, who offered to take an hour off because of the smaller truck. It wasn't until the movers left that I realized in the last trip, because the movers had taken the mattress and slid it on top of my dresser, they had damaged both the dresser and the mattress in the process (see photos). This is where the worst part of the experience begins. I felt assured, knowing the company had a reimbursement policy in place. However, as soon as I mentioned this to Heather, she began to avoid my calls and stop answering my e-mails. I would call her from my cell phone, get no answer, and call her from another number and she would pick up. She wouldn't give me full names or numbers of their claims officer (not convinced they even have one). When I finally got her on the phone, she told me to get a quote from a restoration company. When I did that, she e-mailed the furniture restorer, accusing him of stealing all the photos on his website (she claimed that she knew this because she used to be a "hacker"). All of this time and energy and we are still left with broken furniture, as they refuse to answer our e-mails or calls. Please do not give your money to this unprofessional company.”

Called ona Monday got quoted at 275 .00 with a 100 deposit fee taken after job was done, which 2men movers. I agreed ..booked for Thursday am mov.....after movers left..as I began putting things more organized I. noticed there were Knicks and dents on my furniture!!!!! I was ticked off...I was going to call company and explain what had been done...so finally I called and asked why hasn't the 100.00 dollars for the deposit taken off....Heather had told me I wasn't getting that deducted because of taxes and traveling expenses and some other stuff they tried to get me for!!!!! I was curious..so I told my daughter what took place...she called them and got the same runaround...so I called them back again..this time answering machine came up.. I left a very detailed message to them..and told BBBis going to be informed...so to this day 275.00 they kept entirely...also told regarding the furniture...they paid no mind to it....folks don't dial for their services....they are a bunch of crooks is what they are!!!!!”
