My wife and I were so fed up with the stress of moving ourselves from the past that not only did we choose to use a moving service, we opted in to their packing services. Thats right, we didnt even want to take the toilet paper off the wall. The crew was excellent with carefully and dilligently handling everything. The glassware was packaged very nicely and every item from our home arrived to the new home in the same condition. Our only caveat to the move was that we ended up failing to find a few small items upon unpacking such as a small desk lamp shade and tv remote. I think a large part of this was likely because anything potentially fragile was packaged in paper so well that we probably inadvertently threw these items out when throwing away the packing paper. So my only warning to customers is to ensure you go through sheet by sheet of any packing paper for small items before you toss/recycle said paper and cardboard. Other than that, the crew (5 men) were on-time, thorough and hard workers. I'm pretty sure our master bed frame was setup/reassembled better in our new home than the delivery crew from the furniture store did when we first got the bedset. Good work guys.”

UPDATE: Our move occurred mid-June. After initially posting a review, TM got much more cooperative. They paid someone to come out and repair our furniture. He did a great job. Around Halloween we finally got our floor fixed. Now they have asked me to post an update. It's true that after 4.5 months they finally fixed everything they could. However some things (lost jewelry, expensive vacuum, broken glasses, etc) will never be fixed or replaced. They did eventually take care of the big issues, but I stand by my original review. I do not recommend TM. I'm glad others had a positive experience, but mine was nothing but agony. (I moved this review because I accidentally posted through my daughter's account) This was by far the WORST moving experience I've ever had. The movers in Durham left a HUGE mess in our house. It was filled with empty bottles and other assorted junk. It was completely trashed. The head guy asked the others to go back and clean up, but no one did. I don't have enough space to list all the items that were broken, so I'll list the big ones. First, they piled so much heavy stuff on top of my (nearly) antique solid wood headboard that it cracked down the entire right side. It's going to take a special bracket on the inside to make it usable again. Meanwhile, my daughter is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. They also put a huge gouge in my (actual) antique dresser, which they also lost the hardware for. They also lost hardware for my daughter's vanity.Then there is the headboard, wall shelf, ottoman, and the leg off a very antique library cabinet. Our contact person, Brad, was all helpful and "anything you need" until the delivery company tried to get hold of him the night of the move to find out what he wanted to do about the damage. Then he ignored calls and texts. We finally got hold of him around 11:30 EST and he was short and dismissive. The 2nd day I discovered more damage and he sent two curt texts stating that he was no longer involved and to wait for a text from their claims person. The claims process is lengthy. It requires more photographs than I had taken at my wedding and more paperwork than it took to sell our old house AND buy our new one. I have no idea when the process will be finished, but I'm hoping maybe my grandchildren will collect (for reference our daughter is 12). And now let's get to the subcontractor. It started when the movers (that TM hired for us without any consultations) refused to put boxes anywhere except the living room. I asked one of them (who claimed to be in charge) if he needed anything. He said that "If you could start taking some of these boxes and putting them where they go, that'd be great." He then proceeded to go back to the truck, and I didn't see him again for the rest of the move. Five men came out to our house, but only 2 did any real work. Two of them stayed in the truck and smoked cigarettes for the entire time (including the gentleman I mentioned earlier). One would come in with a load about every 10-20 minutes and dump it in the living room. If I (or any of his coworkers) asked him to put the boxes anywhere else (you know, like the room that was clearly labeled on the box), he acted like he couldn't hear us and went back outside. So basically, it was 2 guys and my husband and I doing all the moving. The truck driver came back and sat for close to 2 hours because he expected them to be done way before they were. It took close to 10 hours just to unload the truck. We have a barely 2,000 sq ft house, and have moved all of this before, so we know that there is NO WAY it should have taken this long. Because they didn't finish until 10:00 at night, none of our furniture was in the right place, and all but one guy left by about 9:00 anyway. I have a bad back and a bad hip and shouldn't be lifting, pulling, or in any way moving furniture, but that's what I did the day of our move AND all the next day, and the next day, and the next day. They also gauged 3 giant holes in our floor. If I were you, I would stay as far away from Truckin Movers as I could.”

The packers showed up right on time and did an immediate walk through of the house with us so they knew exactly what went. They got to work right away and started loading everything on to the truck. They wrapped all the TV's mirrors, pictures and furniture very carefully and packed it on the truck so that we used the least amount of space possible. They were on time, worked a full day and met their deadlines. Each move involved a full pack and unpack.
