After researching movers for almost 2months while we sold our house and built our new house, we knew we made the right choice with this moving company. In July 2019 we called Trowt Movers and scheduled our move date. We needed to move out of one house one night and the next morning do a double closing and then move to the new house. I spoke with Mr. Jon Trowt, he assured me right from the start that he would take care of everything for us. HE DID JUST THAT! He sent one of the most professional teams I've dealt with. These 4 gentlemen came with two trucks and were so incredibly fast with packing our house up complete. Trowt Movers also gave us real peace of mind and stored the trucks for us overnight, locked and secured. Mr. Trowt advised me for the next day to just call after our dual closings and his team would be right there. They showed up almost by the time we arrived home. Again, his team HUSTLED through emptying both trucks, they were so careful going through our brand-new built house. No one wants walls dinged or any damage moving items and the time and care they took to protect every wall they went around or the staircase bringing furniture upstairs, it was just truly amazing to see how much care these gentlemen had and respect for our new home. I've moved multiple times and can honestly say I wish I found them earlier. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend them to anyone looking for a TRUE professional company. We loved that Trowt was a local owned movino company. The owner came to our condo to give us an estimate and was very helpful! The crew of three guys came to our place and moved everything from Salem, MA to Kittery, ME in 1/2 a day. They were quick and safe with our items. My only qualm was that one of the guys was complaining about his back hurting and it was a bit uncomfortable as they were being paid to help us move our boxes. We are moving again in a few weeks and are using Trowt again!”

I chose to hire Trowt for my move because I wanted to support a small business in my area with a good reputation. I hate to leave a negative review for that reason, but I want to make others aware of what I have been through. Especially while moving during a pandemic, which is already stressful enough. Based on my experience, I do not recommend working with them. However, it appears most customers have had positive experiences, so if you do choose to hire Trowt based on that, I strongly recommend that you double or triple check that your move is confirmed for the right day/time to make sure you're not left to scramble last minute like I was. I scheduled my small move (literally four pieces of furniture) three weeks in advance. I was on the phone with them for a good 10-15 minutes giving them all of my information and confirming everything.”

I'd heard good things about Trowt so called them about an upcoming move. The man who answered (Jonathan) was very nice and asked me to email him with the details of my furniture so he could give me a quote. He gave me his email, I repeated it back to him to ensure it was accurate, and sent an email about a half hour later. No response after three days so I sent a follow-up. Still no response and it's been weeks now. I didn't get a bounceback so I don't think I made a typo. I mentioned this to a local realtor I know and she said, "Oh, Trowt - they never check their email!" Not even when they specifically tell prospective customers to email them, apparently. That's unprofessional and, frankly, inexcusable for any business to operate that way post 1996. Fortunately, I found another company to hire that was prompt and responsive.”
