Top Moving Solutions Reviews

★☆☆☆☆
This has genuinely been one of the worst experiences of my life. I do not leave bad reviews lightly, as I have no interest in hurting someone's business... but if I can do anything with this horrid experience, I hope that I can warn people to STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE. For starters, do not trust a word out of Scott Cather's mouth. He defines sleazy salesperson- he will tell you everything you want to hear, will leave out key details, knows just what to say to make you trust him, and will stand by his promise of "7-10 days for delivery" until that time passes, and then stop answering your calls after that. Just to be clear - it has been 31 days since they took my stuff, and 28 days since my "requested delivery date" and my stuff HASNT EVEN LEFT YET. This company has the WORST customer service Ive ever experienced. Once they picked up my stuff I was at the mercy of the nastiest customer service around. At one point the customer service lady told me that I was "lucky that she was even updating me" which is a wild thing to have a customer service person tell you, being that that is THEIR JOB. Every time I call there is another reason that my stuff is delayed. At first it just wasn't leaving because it was "too small of a load" which they knew the size of when I signed my contract on October 6th. They needed to combine it with another load, so we were waiting on that. THEN they told me that my load had actually left, and should be there the next week (Joy!). When I called to check in the day before it was supposed to arrive, I was informed that they had "Forgotten a chair" from someone else's load and turned back to get it. I tried to ask how that makes any sense, being that they should've been at the destination already. This was on Thurs Nov 18th - the text that I have in writing says that they should arrive on the next Monday or Tuesday at the destination. That would have been Nov 25th or 24th. I then received a call on Sunday Nov 24 from the driver saying that he had JUST loaded the truck, but wasn't allowed to drive on Thanksgiving, so would be leaving the Friday or Saturday afterwards. It is now the Sunday afterwards, and I called the driver to check on when he would be arriving and was yelled at that he is "not leaving until tomorrow"...aka Monday Nov 29. All of this, while being told by customer service that if they miss their 21 business day window (yes, I read the fine print that you guys keep throwing in my face), I will be so fortunate to receive $25 back a day. Also while being told that I am lucky that customer service even updates me on anything, and also being ignored by Scott the salesperson. This company is truly disgusting. Everyone who works here should be genuinely ashamed of themselves... I am truly beyond disgusted by the service here. I don't even know what other words cover it. I delayed even writing this review because Im literally scared that they will withhold my stuff, but I think this needs to be seen by anyone who is considering giving their hard earned money to these people.

Hold onto your hats people, this is going to be quite a long review. A brief note about me, I'm not someone that typically writes reviews. You could say I only write reviews for amazing experiences or terrible experiences. This experience was probably one of the worst experiences of our lives and I will probably never use any moving company again because of it. Also know this was an interstate move, not a local move. We thought we were booking with Top Moving Solutions, however, they are also known as Bid Company LLC dba Real Movers and DCZ Logistics. Reasons to use this company: 1. The drivers and the movers are respectful and get straight to business, loading and unloading your belongings. Reasons to think twice about using this company (not in any particular order): 1. One of the owners said this before I hung up on him, "I don't care about your stuff, I just want my money." (This was later on down the line) 2. The customer service lady told me that they use fake names because of safety reasons. When I questioned her on it and said that is essentially fraud, she said, "That's just how it is in sales." 3. If you phone up customer service expecting to get customer service...don't bother. I was basically told that she could not help me and she would pass my message on to the "boss." 4. They argue with their customers. On multiple occasions, I would ask for an updated contract or to know the location of our belongings. They refused to do both and would get irritated when I questioned them on explanations that don't make sense. 5. Every time we spoke to someone we would be told a different story. When we booked with the company we were quoted for 2104 cu ft and we were told we would get a semi-truck and that our address had been googled and a semi would fit at the pick-up and drop-off. "Scott" had labeled some of our belongings incorrectly so I sent an email with corrections and updates as we had forgotten some items. He sent this to QA (no problems). When QA called they said we would now be at 2504 cu ft for additional items etc and the price went up (again, no problem). Moving day arrived and a Penske truck (see picture) arrived...last time I checked, this was not a semi. So the movers proceeded to tell my husband that this was the correct size truck and that was all the space we would get. The "owner" told us later that the mover had offered us a second truck and my husband turned it down. I was also told that they sent a smaller truck but because they are great at packing they can fit 2504 cu ft into an (at the largest) 26" Penske truck...which only holds 1700 cu ft. They told our attorney that they have a shuttle service where they send a smaller truck that picks up our stuff, drops it at the warehouse, and then comes back. The first we heard about the shuttle service was from our attorney. Now bear in mind 3/4 of our house was left behind and we have a newborn baby. We were told by the movers and we confirmed that our first available date for delivery was May 3rd. The driver said, "it says 1-24 days but it should probably get there in a week." Now, this is important because we were told by "Scott" that the people that pick up our belongings are the people that deliver them. We were not told that our belongings would go to some warehouse and sit there for however many days. The day after the movers left, I sent a very unhappy email to the company stating that we pretty much still have a houseful of stuff (may I add they had been paid up to date at this point) and they needed to fix this mess. I asked for an amended contract to bill us for the correct amount of space we had used (which personally I did not think was too much to ask). The driver told us that "Scott" has a habit of sending them to jobs where people have more stuff (now again...I add that the inventory we provided them with had not changed (we did not add anything last minute). So when I also included that information in my email I was met with a defensive response and was told that Tim would reach out when he had the inventory. I asked who Tim was and when I would likely hear from him and I was met with silence. Also the day after the move, I asked for the inventory list that the movers wrote down to be emailed to me. To this day, I still was never emailed that inventory list. I only got to see the document because it was sent to our attorney. By the way, the inventory was terribly written and when our belongings turned up, some boxes didn't have numbers, some boxes had the same number twice. Now we get to the delivery date. We were repeatedly asked when we would be able to take delivery, we said May 3rd. When we received a confirmation email from QA it had a map of the USA and when you looked at our pick up and drop off locations, the chart said 5-14 days. Bear in mind, there has still been no resolution to our issue with being left with 3/4 of a house full of belongings. We were told by the driver, "probably a week." When a week had passed my husband phoned customer service and was told between 2-21 days. When I filed a complaint with the BBB the company said 3-10 days. When they spoke to the Police they told them 5-14 days and when they spoke to our attorney they said 1-24 days. After a week of me solidly chasing the company and being given the runaround and different information, I contacted my bank. I provided them with all the information I had, what had happened and provided emails and pictures for evidence. When I called the bank they said that I should also contact the banks' fraud department and THEY made the decision to pull the money back. Part of the process is my bank makes contact with the company for comment. The company said that I wanted to make trouble and that I pulled the money...however, I didn't make that decision...the bank did. Despite being asked by the police and our attorney they would not tell us where our belongings were. Now my argument is if it is a secure area (I was told there was security)...then what is the issue? So now my understanding is that anyone could break in and steal our stuff as he was alluding that we would just go in and take our own property...doesn't sound secure to me 6. Due to the amount of back and forth and inconsistencies about two weeks after our stuff was picked up I told the "owner" that this was crazy and we would just come and get our belongings ourselves. The "owner" told me that our belongings were getting ready to be loaded on the truck the following day. I said if that's the case when will it get here. He couldn't give me a time frame so I said forget it, we'll get it. He told me that he had to get some paperwork but he would get back to me...he never did. So when I contacted him, he told me that's not what he said and that someone called Ryan would call me and that I can't cancel the contract. However, their contract has an area where it tells you how to cancel. So again, we were told different things. 7. During all of this we get a text from "Tim" who said he is giving us $1000 off for our "troubles" and $2500 off for cu ft. So I asked Tim what the number of the cu ft we were being charged for and he stated, "I don't know." I asked him what size truck was sent to which he replied, 'I don't know." So I said to Tim he's just given us a random number with no calculations and that we needed to see the calculations. Apparently, I had asked for too much and Tim advised me that he did not see us coming to a resolution that day and would have someone else call me. No one did. I might also add that Tim said that when he had spoken with me previously...I had never spoken with anyone on the phone from the company named Tim at that point. I was emailed and told by "Christopher K" that Tim would call me but that hadn't happened. Tim only called me because he had text, my husband, with the $3500 offer and I responded back from my phone. FYI Both Tim and Christopher K have the same cell number...or are they the same person? 8. I did not get a phone call until the company had realized that the bank had pulled the funds. We then proceeded to get multiple phone calls and threatening texts from the company. We were already in the middle of securing an attorney at that point. When we called the company, Chris K. told me that this issue had been resolved on April 27...this was the day after our stuff had been picked up and he had told me that Tim would be reaching out. Now call me crazy...but that's not resolving a problem by passing it on to someone else. He was adamant that it was resolved and he was raising his voice at me down the phone. He then proceeded to tell me that maybe in "my country" things work differently because I have an accent. This is when he told me that he did not care about my stuff, he just wanted his money.  9. I asked another owner for an amended/updated contract to show the number of cu ft we actually got. I was told that they could not do that because of legal reasons. However, when our stuff arrived they could handwrite that onto the original contract... 10. They told my husband that they would no longer speak to me because I was insulting. So just know, if you dare question them on what they are telling you, they will consider you insulting. 11. They originally gave us a military discount because my husband is a disabled veteran. That discount then disappeared, I assume because "we had made trouble for them." 12. We were told that they would disassemble standard furniture. However, they arrived with no tools and didn't disassemble our collapsible garage shelves. Nor did they disassemble any furniture. 13. The driver said that I needed to write a review while they were there (highly inappropriate because they now had some of our belongings) because they had to send it to the office. When my husband notified the office of this during our issues, he was told they are not allowed to do that. 14. This has been one of the most stressful, time-consuming, unnecessary, and expensive experiences of our lives. We are still being overcharged and a majority of our belongings are either in our old state or we had to give away. We have spent more time dealing with this than I would have cared for.   15. We finally received our belongings after a very long wait. "Christopher K," had told our attorney that we had not contacted the company to arrange for delivery previously. However, there was a large label on our belongings that said FAD (first available delivery date) 5/3/2021... 16. Our filing cabinet had been broken into, the lock is all messed up and you can see scratches around the lock where someone broke it open. It was a new lock and it was locked when it was loaded on the truck. We were told that our belongings were in a climate-controlled, secure location... so secure that someone opened some of our boxes and broke into our filing cabinet... 17. Our sleep number bed (which isn't cheap) had some yellow staining on the foam from sun damage. So it looks like it was sat in the sun... 18. "Mike," said that we would be so happy with the packing and that nothing would arrive broken. However, two nightstands that my husband saw wrapped on the pick-up were unwrapped. My nursery chair that had been wrapped was partially unwrapped. Some boxes were crushed as if they had been tossed in. We haven't finished going through all the boxes yet... 19. The truck that turned up was one Enterprise truck which I measured on video, it was 26 ft...that truck can only hold 1800 cu ft. So again....we were charged for 2504 cu ft of space... This review is also not in order of how things occurred...mainly because that would take more time to do and I have already dedicated a good amount of May having to deal with this. If you come across this company, just be warned, this has been our experience. After we began having issues with this company, we did some digging and found some horrendous reviews (wish we had seen those sooner). You have been warned...they don't care about you, they just want their money.

Worst company to work with. Beware of the process, they are great sales people. They contract with very poorly rated companies and do not act are a reliable point of contact for your move. DO NOT USE.

Finally getting to posting a review - We were very disappointed at the time it took for us to have our truck arrive. We were given a span of days, which they didn't abide to, from there just getting pushed further and further back. Terrible service.

Not to sound like a Karen, but if I could give 0 stars, I would. Top Moving Solutions completely screwed us the day before our cross-country move from Mississippi to New York. A month ago we booked a cross-country move. They were supposed to call us 3 times between then and our moving date to verify several things. They never called, so we called a week ago to verify the date and entire arrangement. Everything was greenlit when we spoke to the representative. We called again today, the day before our move, to ask when to expect them tomorrow because they AGAIN did not call us. The representative said they had to reschedule our move and they couldn't come on our requested date and couldn't give us a new date yet. Mind you, this is THE DAY BEFORE OUR MOVE. Our entire home is packed and we have travel arrangements made! The representative then said she tried to call us several times to tell us about the rescheduling, but claimed she had the wrong number. This couldn't be true because we'd spoken with a representative just a week before to verify all of our information, so they had our number. We felt incredibly scammed and not taken care of. Top Moving Solutions was not willing or able to accomodate a new date for us. Instead, the representative said she'd have to call us back another day to arrange a new move. We told her we don't want to do business with them anymore and cancelled the move. I called UPack immediately and they were able to accomodate us on our same moving date, so I highly recommend them instead. EDIT: To the Top Moving Solutions representative who commented saying they couldn’t find my name, that’s because it’s under my partner’s name, Dakota Sarantos. I am not able to respond to your comment. To anyone considering TMS, please know that we spent hundreds of more dollars due to this “mishap” bc we had to hire a new company last minute. TMS, please make more effort to reach out to your customers who’ve paid thousands of dollars to you!

I called this company to help me with a move. The initial part of getting my business they were great. I specifically asked them if they were going the be the movers and not have another company move, and they said yes they had movers in all states. The movers had a 2 day window and called me 3 times they would come on the 2nd day. The 2nd day they called me and said they would be there the 3rd day. I had already booked a hotel planning on moving and had to lose out on a 200 dollar reservation because they came outside their 48 hour window. The movers said the company would contact me on when my items would arrive. 5 days later I get sent an email I get a call from the driver saying he would be at my house in 2 hours. The only notice I got about delivery was 2 hours and had to leave work to be at the apartment for delivery. When the items came it was from a different truck and boxes were in poor condition with items damaged. You could tell they were just thrown from one truck to the next. After unpacking boxes we also realized we had a few things missing that were in at least one or two boxes. Top moving solutions says they are the ones that do all the deliveries but it seems like they outsource the deliveries to other companies. The company that came was Map Moving and Storage and their reviews are terrible with majority 1 star reviews. Top Moving Solutions had a decent price but I'm not sure I'd use them again just based on price.
