“ Over the years I've experienced many moving companies in many states, and it seems like I am 0 for 5 on groups in Chicago. I took a chance on The Professionals per recommendation from some friends that had good experiences and rolled with it. This was the first time I'd be using movers on one side of the move to load up a truck only, to move across state lines to Grand Rapids, MI. In my head I'm thinking: usually Chicago movers hustle at the first location, hustle for a good part of the second location, then they always seem to slow it way down towards the end to drag out that last bit of the running clock. How does that scenario play out when you only have a truck load and no destination? No elevators, no stairs, 1st floor unit, closest to the front door, straight shot to the truck, a "large 2 bedroom" amount of items, multiple dollies, everything packed in boxes ready to go... 3.5 hours. A 2 bedroom. The answer is: they drag out the window of time to equate it to an actual full round trip move. Additionally, and this isn't really a problem and I understand, but because U-Haul put us in a position of having ZERO moving blankets that we reserved (that's a whole story on another post) we had to purchase 25 moving blankets from The Professionals at $15 a piece resulting in a $375 cost. They would not let me rent the blankets, even if I shipped them overnight the next day, because I was crossing state lines. Again, I understand this part of it, but it doesn't make it any better that I had a $375 expense I wasn't planning on, and now I have a garage full of moldy ripped up moving blankets that I have no use for. We're about 75% through moving in to the destination, and I don't think we have a single piece of furniture that ISN'T damaged. Including all of the ones that were "professionally wrapped" in these Grade A blankets. I almost wish we would have just thrown our own furniture in the truck if it was just all going to look like it does here. Just under $1,000 total for this truck load. Overall, just not happy with the experience. I can't recommend The Professionals or any single moving company in Chicago. Happy to be out of there.”

Two shady practices are happening that if I knew was happening I would have gone with a less expensive moving company. The links they send after your service for review requests don't allow you to leave a review for anything less than a 5 star rating. This is banned from all major review sites and is known as "review gating." It gives a dishonest view of the company. On top of that, Yelp doesn't allow for review generation - at all. So whoever they're using for review management is putting their whole organization at risk due to lack of integrity.”

“ My partner and I worked with this moving company on Dec. 1st, 2020. I had second thoughts about whether to share our experience or bot, but it seems that I just couldn't let it go easily. First I want to say that I appreciate their working ability and efficiency, it takes less than one and a half hour before they finished moving all of our furnitures and reassembling them. But I challenge their honesty and intergrity. We had some negative experiences caused by our previous movers (Aaron Bros Moving Service) since they somehow stealed our credit card information which lead to a mess. So this time we decide to pay by cash, which turns out to be a terrible idea. I prepared 610 dollars (in 50$ and 20$ and 10$) in total in an envelope and we were supposed to pay them 390$ only, but my partner is a little bit careless when giving the money and takes everything in the envelope as 20$ and give all 610$ to them. I swear I'm not lying since I double checked my bank history and I not trying to get my money back and there is no way that the mover is not aware of my partner's mistake, just imagine we didn't pay 610 and instead we only gave him less than 390. HE MUST HAVE REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED. What made this even worse is that after he took all the money with them, he still askes my partner in these exact same words: any tips for the hard-working guys? We are university students, I mean, 220 dollars is a lot to us, I probably should have realize what happened when my partner rush into me and look for some extra money for tips. We were just being happy since the moving is over, but after a while when I checked with her how much we paid, I realized. We called the workers immediately but of course, they say we paid exactly 390$. I know there is no way we could get our money back, and there is probably no way we could prove ourselves, but these guys are thieves and they humiliate their customers. If you want to work with them, fine, they are good are their work, but PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WITH THEM.”
