I called and spoke with one of the owners, who quoted a price after I told him exactly, in detail, what we needed. I specifically stated we were combining 2 households into one large home. I even went as far as to state what specific furniture we had at each home so they knew exactly what we needed, how many guys we needed, which trucks, etc with a fixed timetable. He told me "no problem. We are moving a 8000 sq foot home right now so we can handle it." On the day before the move, things were taking a turn already. They were supposed to be moving everything out of one of the homes and store it on a truck overnight until we closed on our home the next day. The owner is the one I spoke with each time and every time I spoke with him, he changed the plan. It caused a lot of anxiety but as long as they got it moved and stayed within budget, we were fine and we adjusted. However, when trucks were disappearing from the job, 2 guys were left to move everything in a few hours, and I called him to ask what was happening, he had the nerve to tell me that I didnt explain what we needed and this job should have charged us a lot more. He didn't do a walk through before quoting us, which I thought was strange. Everyone else did that we spoke with, but I went through every piece of furniture we had and said we had a lot of boxes! How could I have been more specific? I told him the square footage of each home and the new home we were purchasing. Moving day... what a nightmare. We had labeled each box to make for an easier flow. At first, he told me they would put everything where it went and reassemble everything. Then they said they didnt have time to assemble anything. Then they decided they wouldn't even put everything where it went. (That included the washer and dryer up to where it went on the second floor) He told his guys "we never discussed a washer and dryer." Are you kidding me? Of course we discussed it. And how would you know you are moving 2 households into one large home and not need the washer and dryer even if we hadn't discussed it (which I assure you we did.) Then they put a hole in the ceiling, ruined a nightstand for the master bedroom, and put a ton of scuffs on the walls. "Of course we will fix it." Sure. I should have held off payment until it was fixed because they never came back! Speaking of payment, they ended up fraudulently charging us $500 more on their tablet without approval. Crooks!! When they left (without a single word) we couldn't walk downstairs or close the garage because it was so packed with furniture and boxes. The home we purchased was 3 stories. We hired movers because we could not move those things ourselves. I took pictures and I wish I could post them here. It was pathetic and we are still not sorted in this house. The only reason they would even get one star (instead of zero, if Google would allow) is because their movers did work hard. They were nice guys and doing the best they could. The owners are literal criminals and just general worthless individuals. I kept hearing excuses like "we just lost guys that went back to college yesterday" etc. You knew you were losing those guys yet you booked the job anyway and we sure paid the price.”

My husband and I made a life-changing decision to leave the home and city we raised our daughters in and have lived in for 28 years (me, my whole life) to move to Wake Forest, just outside of Raleigh. This was an emotional roller coaster as we cleaned out and threw away years of memories. When Garrett and Jeremy came to give us an estimate for how much it would cost to move us, they were so upbeat and positive. ..eager to provide helpful suggestions to make the packing more efficient. They were also very courteous as well as interested in our story. Hoping to be able to close on our new home and have our belongings moved on the same day meant closing early due to the distance the movers had to travel. They would need to be able to start unloading as early as possible in order to make it home by quitting time or else an additional expense would incur due to the employees working overtime. The day finally arrived when the movers came to pack the trucks. These young men had so much fun with one another, one could tell they enjoyed each other's company. There was a lot of laughing. Very mannerly and spoke respectfully to my husband and I. I did not notice and "goofing off" at all. The only frustration experienced was when I received a phone call from the people we were purchasing our new home from who reported a problem which was going to set the next day's closing to be right after lunch instead of the morning. At this point I panicked. I knew the guys wouldn't be able to unload the trucks for us in time to get back with that late closing time and I worried they would have another job the next day. What would that mean for me? Did it mean all of the items on the trucks needed to be taken off? Was I going to have to find another moving company? No one would be able to move us with that late closing time. What would we do? Suddenly, like 2 white knights riding in on their horses, Garrett and Jeremy drive up and get out of their truck. Immediately Garrett asks me what's wrong. I explain it all. Each one takes time to give me a hug and tells me not to worry they would work it out. They did have another job, but somehow, they managed to get our job done the day after our closing. It was so exciting seeing those guys pull their trucks up and get to work. Using teamwork, one inside the truck handed to someone outside the truck who carried it to the door and handed it off to someone inside who kindly had taken off their shoes so as not to dirty up my new carpet and floors. Boxes were taken to all corners of the house until everything was unpacked. Happy new residents due to happy, efficient movers. So glad we used The Movers Co.”

The team of guys that came to my house were respectful and very good workers, however, the guy running the business is going to run it in the ground because of his greed. A move that should have cost me about $880 dollars ended up costing me $1290.00. When I asked for a break down of the prices the owner became rude. I was under the impression I was paying $220 dollars an hour. The guys arrived at my apartment at 930am and would have finished up about 1pm had they not taken an hour break on my dime. So very clearly $220 times 3.5 hours is not $1290.00. I could have refused to pay him, however, I just knew I would never use his services again. Granted I put my things in storage, however when I moved out I would have used him again if he wasn't so greedy. Evidently, the own doesn't realize that in order to stay in business he needs repeat business and good referrals. I don't see them being in business much longer with these unethical practices. In response to the owner's reply. How would he know how long they took for lunch. I can actually prove it didn't take 6 hours to complete my move. They arrived at my house at 930am and left my house at 12noon. If they would have went straight to the storage unit then it should have taken them about an hour to get me settled in. So how you came up with 6 hours is crazy and dishonest. I am not going to keep worrying about this because I know if you keep operating like this your dishonesty will catch up with you.”
