Grrr, we thought everything was going along fine. Setting up the move they were very helpful. The movers were friendly and worked quickly. A few days later the truck arrived and again the fellows worked quickly and were polite. However, a few days later, as we unpacked and looked for items that we knew went on the truck, they weren’t there! 2 RC airplanes that the movers packed were broken, a bag of porter tools and batteries was gone, and a power washer had all “disappeared” during the move. We reported this to the company but were told since we didn’t pay for extra insurance there was nothing they could do. Really? I needed to pay extra money to insure I would get my property back? I’m sure we would not use this company again or recommend them to anyone. FYI we moved from Bozrah to Pennsylvania.”

Terrible experience with Sterling. Seems like nice people but can’t execute a move or deliver a positive customer experience. Our 10th interstate move and by far the worst. Paul Ryan in sales oversold the move process (packing, load-out,etc) and replacement insurance and then disappeared while move issues occurred (in peak summer season). Driver came late for loading and then slept all day in the cab leaving loading to underlings who required so much attention (which the driver would not provide) so management fell to us (customer) despite calls to Sterling asking for help. Loading process was so bad the driver unloaded our goods the next day at a remote location to re-pack a van; resulted in double handling and covering all our furniture/boxes with a gritty dirt causing furniture scratching. Also commingled goods with other customers on vans that created lost items. At unloading the driver realized the amount of damage and f-#@-ups and just left (no warning or see ya later) without going through inventory load sheet reconciliation (or even asking for a signature)….just left. Sterling went silent on move issues and damage, hiding behind a belated email, offering no resolution or even an acknowledgement of issues! Run from Sterling as fast as you can!”

We're PCSing from Georgia to Hawaii and had some things in storage here in Connecticut from the last move. Flew from Georgia, booked a hotel room and a rental car, spending over $1500 to get this stuff packed up. Now naturally, since these things had been in storage for three years some of the pieces of furniture had mildew on them. NOT BLACK MOLD, just dust and mildew. This is obviously less than ideal, but 90% of the items were completely untouched, the magazine pages weren't even damp or sticking together. They wouldn't take the things. Understandable. They said they could come back if I cleaned the items. I spent 8 hours that day moving and cleaning everything by myself. But the real kicker is that he reported that it was full of black mold, so the Navy cancelled the movie altogether. So my husband had to take emergency leave, drive the kids and dog 1,000 miles up here so that we can rent a U-haul and pack and move everything ourselves and we'll be out another 2-3k that probably will never be reimbursed.”

My experience with Sterling Movers could not have been worse. Their honesty, integrity and reliability in my opinion are ZERO. We are quite experienced with the moving process. Based upon our recent experience during a move in December 2019, it is my informed opinion that Sterling Movers are experts at two things, representing themselves to be what they are not (reliable) and convincing you that they deserve your trust, which in my opinion they most certainly do not. In my opinion, any other moving company would be capable of better service and more deserving of your trust and your business. Our property was severely damaged. In thinking back upon past moves, Sterling was far and away the worst experience we encountered. Prospects best beware and seek alternatives. In my opinion, you will likely do better with any other mover!”
