These guys did a great job. We moved from Brooklyn back to my home town, Los Angeles and they moved our place without a problem. I recently moved to west hills ca .I have used other moving companies before and was skeptical at first due to furniture being damaged while moving but I decided to make this moving experience a better one when a friend from work told me about Sky Van Line and Long Distance Movers. I asked for an estimate and received a quick response. The movers are very helpful, I needed a storage unit because I will be moving from a three bedroom to a one bedroom and needed to get some of my things stored for a while until I can find an apartment in Miami. The movers were extremely quick and nice and understanding about the things that meant a lot to me. Before the move I had my furniture insured and my boxes of belongings were kept safe by wrapping papers and bubble wraps just to truly make sure that they are in the tightly packed and nothing gets damaged. Nothing did get damaged and every cent I paid was well worth it and more! Our Semi Trailers do not go through metropolitan cities due to many factors. These cities require permits for our 18 wheeler trucks to come in. The moving industry are known to have the biggest semi trailers on the road. They have very low bottoms, they are the widest they can be (8ft), they are super heavy, and exceed 13ft height. it is very hard for these trucks to make wide turns, get access to drive across bridges and ferries. It is our company policy that we take in consideration the safety of our drivers and our trucks. Believe us when we say that when a shuttle truck is needed it is very inconvenient for our workers to take the extra time to do this process. would like you to know that I will share your story with the broker companies to insure that this does not happen again to others. This information should have been brought up to your attention sooner. The driver for your delivery was spoken to, and we apologize for his behavior. The claim department process does not guarantee that what the claim is for will all be refunded. We have the industry rules and regulations that we must follow as far as resolving any claim. In this specific case the customer signed and agreed that the settlement will be adjusted based on $0.60/ LB/ Article on all items packed or wrapped by the moving company and that we are not responsible for any damages that accrue to the customer packed items. A reimbursement of $39 was offered to the customer regarding the missing items and damaged pieces. We had no files uploaded for proof of damages and all inventory was checked off that you received your household goods. We have not heard from you since then, which is why your claim was closed. We apologize that this was your experience with us. Please feel free to contact the customer service department in order to re evaluate your claim settlement if you wish. The reimbursement can only be done after the customer signs the release of claims form. We are more than willing to work with you and satisfy you.”

We had a horrible experience with Sky Vans in our move from CA to TX. On the uploading side they told us that our stuff will take lot more space than what we paid for even though we gave them the exact measurements of everything to get a precise quote which was off by 40% according to their own system so we ended up leaving half of our stuff. Then they took 2 weeks extra for stuff to arrive at destination. The delivery side was even more horrible. They charged us $250 more for stairs and truck distance from the house since their huge truck could not park close. We did mention first floor and stairs while quote but they charged us extra saying that fine print says only 10 steps included in stairs. And then the nightmare continues. They lost 4 of our extra large boxes and then tried their best to convince us that they are here somewhere but when we made noise then they called the warehouse and they confirmed that they did forget to load them. It took them an extra week to bring our lost boxes. As per move quality, they damaged most of our boxes with the move. I am attaching the pictures of the boxes as proof and actually most of the boxes were damaged which did break lot of our stuff. Basically they are the worst movers ever who actually trap you with a lower quote first and when they finally come to upload or download your stuff then they add fine prints extras like stairs charge for more than 10 stairs and 75ft truck distance limit. Is it really customer fault if they bring an 18 wheeler huge truck that is impossible to park within 75ft so they can charge arm and length. It was unbelievable to see that they have this rip off system in place when they initially break the news to the customer for more charges and then they tell you that you have one hour to decide to decline service or otherwise pay 100s of dollars for extra hours. So they know that customers will complain and try to call in the first hour so they made it free. Wish they are sued soon for their fraud practices. It is just like a scam really. Our move was quoted at 2500 and we ended up paying 3000+ and lost half of our stuff too which was included in the actual quote. My advice get Pods and avoid Sky Vans Scammers Highly dissatisfied. Misrepresentation on pricing. Price turned out to be double than the original quote. The driver was a scam artist and told us that they couldn’t use the parkways and had to downsize to a smaller truck, costing us an additional $1000. We were new to NY so we didn’t understand Westchester’s infrastructure until later when we saw that he could have used I-87. Driver and team had a bad attitude. At one point, I had to have a few words with the driver who tried to reprimand my wife who simply asked him to move an item to a different location. Do not hire.”

For a move from CA to TX. The movers are nice people. However, they were over an hour late with coming to pick up our items, which pushed back a long 10 hour drive we informed them of beforehand. They were also 30 minutes late on delivering the items. Our coffee table and computer desk came with large cracks even though they had been wrapped. We also ended up paying $600 more than the quote we were given. So disappointed with this company and would not recommend using them to anyone else.”

All in all, I am very pleased with my decision to go with Sky Van lines for our move from Los Angeles to Chicago. Kaila has been great to work with throughout the whole process. I felt like she was very honest and transparent from our first phone call. If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would change is to get an in-home inspection (my price went up a little bit since our belongings took up more room than expected on the inventory sheet). Other than that, the movers came and were very professional. All of my furniture was wrapped with blankets, plastic, and tape. Upon delivery, the driver tried to charge me an additional $400 to bring my couch up the stairs and a $75 elevator fee for the rest of my belongings. I called Kaila immediately and she had that taken care of. If there was anything of concern throughout the entire process, Kaila was always available to bring to her attention. In conclusion, very few items were damaged but will be claiming those with the claims department who should reimburse for value of items damaged. I would definitely hire them again. Hired SkyVanLines for an interstate move in the summer of 2017. Everything went very well until we started unpacking and found that some items were missing from our suitcases. We observed that they were broken into. We lost silver heirloom plates and a bose headset. In all $2000 worth items were stolen. Upon speaking to them they claimed that all boxes are handled under video surveillance and this cannot happen. But the reality is that items were stolen from my consignment when they were in the possession of Sky Van Lines. I was offered $12 in response to my complaint. They are covered by the fine print in the contract. So customers really dont have much say if things like this happen. Moreover their invoices and receipts falsely claim that they are BBB accredited with A+ rating. They are NOT BBB accredited. I am repenting now for not doing due diligence.”

I learned you must be upfront w EVERY piece you are moving to ensure as close as a guaranteed rate as possible. Everything I told them I was moving during my quote phase was everything they moved. Nothing more. However, aside from giving me the rate I was promised the movers were great! I usually stay and supervise,but the foreman/manager they sent me told me to sit, relax, have a cocktail and watch how smooth they are. Sure enough, these guys were careful, worked at a great pace and took care of each and every piece. I honestly loved em and promised I'd share on Yelp (they didn't ask!). My wife and I had to move from Las Vegas to Michigan. I had gotten quotes from multiple companies to handle the move and had to do a double-take when the cheapest quote came from the highest reviewed mover with the most fair policies! For example, most of the larger moving companies I looked at wanted to charge $300 on top of the quote for a shuttle to pick up our furniture and boxes in Las Vegas since a semi would not fit on our street (or most residential streets in the Vegas area!) whereas Sky, being a local company, already knew that and used a shuttle to pick belongings up as their standard. They also did not charge for the first flight of stairs where most moving companies did. I worked with Maurice through the process from quote until moving day, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. On the day of the move, the crew was there at the earliest time they had quoted, worked fast and efficient, and was very professional. Everything arrived at our new house a little over a week later (not bad for a 2500 mile move!). The crew was once again there as early as possible, which gave us the entire day to get everything unpacked and situated. On top of it all I am a realist: a full 53' semi trailer jammed with not only my family's stuff but many other shipments and I expected some damage. My wife and I were beyond thrilled when not a single item was even scuffed in the move including our TV and very expensive computer monitors. Cross-country moves are never easy, but Sky Van Lines made it as painless for me as possible. I would recommend them to anyone!”

Thank you for a flawless move! We requested an early start and Brian and Tobias was able to accommodate a 7am pick up. We were able to get on our way to Albuquerque by 1130 am. This company has to be the worst ever. I have moved many times before. NEVER had this much damage!!! They crammed pictures it boxes without wrapping them. I was told they were professional. They don't know how to handle tv's. When picking them up your not suppose to touch the screen. Well they did and broke my husbands 70 inch tv.. plus nicks on a lot of furniture. Broke one of my dining room chairs and my four poster bed they were wrapped but the way this company does there pick up is they come to your house pack then take it to the warehouse then puts it in the semi when they are ready to take it. That was one of the problems. They put heavy things on top and crushed the items. Had a glass table top they bent in half!!! Also my $10,000. bed was damaged they broke all the feet off I was told by the guys that when they loaded it the casters were against the wall of the truck so as they went down the road it banged against the side and broke them off in pieces. I checked all the reviews before I picked this company they were all great... there basic insurance pays .60 cents a pound. Filling out the paper work for a claim is a night mare!! I had called my home owner insurance before they picked up our stuff was told it would cover the move for damage so I didn't get the additional insurance. It's really pricey.. when I called my insurance I was told the damages were not covered because it was from negligence and carelessness!!! So now I will have to fight to get anything fixed!! So it you care about your things go to a different van line company. Since I posted this review they did call saying they would help me with my claim but only if I would take down my review. They asked what they could do and I told them the only thing would be the amount for my tv since they damaged it by not knowing how to carry one without breaking it. I told them just the balance after the amount I would get from the insurance for all the damage. Have not heard from them again since I told them I wouldn't take it down. So now I see how they have such good reviews. They get people to take down the bad ones in hope they will help them with the damage! Still waiting to get paid for damages!!”

The worst movers I have ever had. The dispatch lady is very helpful and nice however so much furniture was damaged and boxes just crushed. The guys who delivered to us could have cared less about our property. They just threw items around. Then because it took them longer to unload they just started leaving boxes wherever they wanted. They didn't care and just wanted to be done. Nearly 9k in cost and they treat you like garbage and man handle your furniture. Yes majorly downsized but that is besides the point. I don't care if it was being put in a storage bin and the had to stack it eight feet high for close to 9k just put my stuff where I ask or at least the same room you took it out of. I was told they want to make it fair and for me to come up with a number. I thought about it and felt $1800 credit back to credit card would be fair. I'm still waiting for them To approve the refund. It's not even 20% of the total and I mist definitely didn't receive the service I was sold on. Two guys to unload my stuff. They couldn't lift several items over the handrails so the just dragged them on the wood handicap rails. I had thought maybe it was a one off when the said they wanted to make it right but seeing they have not applied the credit I get the feeling it's the way the do business. When I'm done with my complaint to the federal department of transportation and commerce as well as it state regulatory office for each state my item Passed through I will post on several sites photos of the damage they did to my items and as a handicapped person the little respect for my belongings and the driver trying to bully me and making me fear if I complained to much he'd just dump my stuff and leave. This is not right. They asked me to give them a number to make up for the way they handled my belongings. I asked what price point are they talking and she said don't ask for half off as it will Not be given but a fair amount. For a nearly 9k move I asked for 1800 back and to this date have not heard back from them. This is a shady company in my opinion. I was also told to print out a claims form for a third party company that they use to insure the stuff but they broke my printer so I have to buy a printer now to print out the paperwork. With this company be prepared to wait a long time if to settle your damage. Going on six months and they still are trying to play stall tactics. I would advise consulting with an attorney when filing your claim damage with this company. They will mislead you on the filing process and convince you it will be handle soon as the third party insurance company sends them the settlement. Not true! Get a lawyer as I am. I should have from day one but I trusted them.”

A little background first, my family and I have moved many times for my husband's job, we moved to Hawaii and back and managed to have a better move then the one we experienced with Sky Van Lines out of Las Vegas. I told them our pack would take a least 2 days ( I have moved 9 times..I would know)...but they pushed to get it done in one and it was a mess! So many things broken and missing. Our items packed in random order. We received someone else headboard. They didn't deliver our items all at one time. They made the decision to bring us what they deemed the "necessities." and it took another few weeks to get our remaining items. They send a wonderful salesman to your house to get you on board but they do not deliver on their promises. The crew they sent to deliver our items was a JOKE! My husband basically did all the unloading because the guys were so out of shape, small and didn't speak a word of english. It was not their A squad. It was a NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE! Be sure you don't need your stuff quickly as it took 12 days to receive my delivery from Vegas to Texas. Once my inventory arrived, half of my heavy-duty rubbermaid totes were smashed...I can't imagine the weight they had to put on these to accomplish this feat. The started to unload and I noticed that the bottom of every single box had black tar on it and they proceeded to put them all over my newly cleaned light carpet! I stopped them immediately and grabbed cardboard boxes to put down. Had I not, they would have ruined all my carpet! As it stands, I can't get the stains out where they missed the cardboard. When my expensive, Persian carpet was brought in, they had only wrapped the middle part, so at least a foot on both ends were covered in permanent, black tar! This is what you get for hiring day labor who aren't trained properly! Bottom line, I will never use this company again, and if you care about anything you own, do not use them as well.”

I have since received a partial refund from Google based on Google's local service guarantee. Actual reply from Google, "Your Google Guarantee claim process is complete. After careful investigation and analysis, we've finalized a resolution on your claim." Please educate yourselves about the following; -It has been reported that the company has required that the writer of a negative review remove said review before the company will help them with a negative experience. -If you look at all the votes for the positive comments as "useful", you will notice the same two people, Rami and Tobias, whom just happen to be the heads of the company. You will also notice that when there is a bad review, these same two vote it as "funny", when they should be taking these reviews more serious as heads of the company. -If you take note at most of the good reviews, you will notice that they are mostly generic, not actually listing what specifics made them good (generally a sign of a fake/paid review).”
