I had a move scheduled for this upcoming Sunday based on his reviews and the best quoted price that I had received. I used Scott's Discount Movers after comparing prices from this and several other companies on Yelp. First of all, while other companies replied back through Yelp, Scott was the first one to be like, "We need to talk IRL." So he called and we discussed my needs and what services he had to offer. He sent over his insurance information and a questionnaire to be completed so that he could write out the contract. I received an electronic copy of the contract prior to the arrival of the movers and a paper copy was made available for me to sign upon their arrival. Did I mention that this was all within a few hours of closing? Did I mention that this was for a next day move? This man is an organized machine, I tell you. Following the move, he sent the electronic receipt for payment and I was able to submit an electronic payment (with a small convenience fee tacked on) after the movers left.”

Apparently their truck broke down during the previous move and it hasn’t been repaired yet. I agreed to it reluctantly because I had no choice, but it caused me a lot of inconveniences because I organized other important activities (utility set-up) according to the moving date that was set before. To be honest, they sincerely apologized several times and also offered some specialty wardrobe boxes for free. Eventually all my belongings reached my new place in one piece. There was a heavy rain that day and several accidents on the road, so they were completely blocked for almost two hours. Although we have planned to move outside rush hours, they were stuck into a traffic jam. Also, we didn’t plan for bad weather conditions so we didn’t protect my items properly. My yellow sofa was delivered soaking wet and dirty. Scott's discount movers apologized several times, but I understand that there are certain situations beyond everyone’s control. This was the only time I have ever/will ever use them. Let me first say that I am a big dude (6'5", 275lbs). I have been in construction most of my life and have also worked as a mover and furniture installer for commercial movers and office furniture companies, So I know what I'm doing and I can carry heavy loads better than most. This was an August move in FL, I understand that its hot outside so I supplied a case of bottled water and lunch from a sub shop. We hired them for a local move (2 pick up locations and 1 destination). This was a residential move to a 4 BR house. I requested 3 movers and a 24' truck. PROS: 3 people showed up, on time, with a 24' truck. They did not damage/lose/steal anything. Thats all the positives... CONS: They sent me (2) 160lb-ish guys and a girl. Not to be rude, but MOST men and women were created differently; to physically be capable of doing different things. It took around 8 hours. Halfway through the girl "wasn't feeling good", gave up, and sat in the cab of the truck. The guys were unable to pack the truck properly, so a 3rd trip had to be made. I myself had to load a few heavy things that the 2 guys together were unable to lift. SAD and PATHETIC from "professional movers". Next time I have to move I'll have my 4 year old son help, rent a truck and do it myself. The next time I want to throw away a grand and be completely disappointed at the end, I'll go to a strip club! I'm still so unhappy that I'm writing this review about a year and a half later. This experience may keep me from EVER hiring any other moving company! Ever! Ill do it myself. I am not exaggerating any thing except maybe the weight of the 2 guys (probably closer to 140 each)!”

I was extremely impressed on how well they worked together as a team and their professionalism. I have been bragging about them to everyone this week. My statement has been that “I have never seen two harder working kids in my life”!! I highly recommend them to anyone. They literally ran as they loaded and unloaded and going up and down stairs like it was nothing. It was about a 5 hour move but anyone else it would have taken twice that amount of time.
