I showed them what needed to be moved and they figured out right away what needed to be done and how to do it, especially with my treasured upright piano which had to be moved over some uneven ground outside my house. Besides being efficient and careful with my stuff, they're super friendly which makes a big difference when you're concerned about big items being moved. They unloaded at the new place I'm moving to, also here in Gardiner, where space is tighter -- but they carefully maneuvered everything into place, including the piano. I had a good size storage unit that was packed and in such a disarray, I couldn't find anything. Rick and Matt came out and completely reorganized the unit. I expected it to take up to 4hours. (They have a 1-2 block and a 3-4 block.) Instead they were done in an hour. Everything was set back where I could easily maneuver around and find what I wanted. Horrible experience and service for the following reasons. -Rick said he could move AND assemble my new NordicTrack treadmill but as soon as he got to my home, he said him and his partner were not experts and he couldn't promise they'd be able to assemble it correctly (that's one of the reasons I hired them in the first place!). -They scuffed my wood trim in the house when moving the treadmill into my house and didn't notify me (I found out after they left). -They upcharged me $15 for using a credit card (Rick notified me there would be an upcharge but didn't call out that it would be $15. That's ridiculous!). -It was an extremely uncomfortable experience being around Rick and his partner. He not only talked down to his partner in a humiliating way (made it extremely awkward for me to witness), but he raised his voice out of anger at me because I wanted him to stay and finish the job but he was eager to get out to Gardiner because he booked a different appointment (classic case of overbooking oneself). He rushed my job to make it to a different job. Not my fault or problem. I highly recommend hiring anyone but Rock Steady Movers. It's worth waiting for Move It Inc or another moving company in town despite the longer wait time and pricier hourly rate.”
