They were very nice when they gave me an estimate. The assured me my move would be done well and my furnishings would be protected. It was not good. They showed up late. Instead of 9 am it was about 11am. They said they were on their way in the early morning and caught in traffic. I checked the traffic and there was none, then they told me they had to switch trucks, and they would be late, and they would charge only an hour for travel time. It was hot, and although they started with masks, that soon ended. The workers were personable, and they did do some wrapping of furnishings, but there was a fair bit of damage done. One obvious thing was the refrigerator, they dented and scratched the door and broke the glass shelf. They did tell me they broke the shelf. If that was all the damage I would have been fine. My master bedroom dresser was damaged. My shelving units were damaged. My subwoofer was not protected at all and damaged. One of the leaves to the dining room table was gouged and scratched. In their defense, there were some difficult to move items that were skillfully moved without incident. I'm thankful for that. Mover's are notorious for overcharging and this was no exception. It was 10pm when they were finished, the rate was between 180 per hour for 3 men and 220 for 4 as they started with 3 and then added a guy. With travel time it was a generous 11 hours. I was charged $3200. ( He first said $3,000 on the phone then said $3200). Original estimate was $2,400 and was before I moved about 100 boxes and almost all electronics. The workers had a hard time as it was hot and we did tip them. I talked about the charges for a moment or two but I was beat from moving a lot of stuff to the curb myself and I needed to be done. They mentioned materials but really it was tape and blankets, the electronics and TVs (except for my sub) was pre-moved by me to avoid trouble. I wanted it to end so I paid. Don't be like me.”
