I had a great experience with Red Carpet Moving. Moving in general is awful, the best one can hope for is a reputable, trustworthy, and pleasant moving company - and Red Carpet Moving is exactly that. On top of that, my family’s move was during the holidays, with a 6 day "layover" (home buyers didn’t want to rent back at all) so expectations were higher to have the move be as painless as possible. So, here’s my review on the 3 primary pieces of interacting with a moving company and how they went for me with Red Carpet Moving - having worked with other larger moving companies in the past. First call/quote: I worked with Sal, who genuinely wanted to have me as a customer. He worked with me on an over-the-phone quote, and provided available dates. We ended up at a very fair price after I called around, and he was able to fill the dates needed. We would have our stuff picked up, stored for 6 nights, then delivered again. Due to home sale technicalities, they were able to accommodate a delivery date change without issue. Awesome! Actual move: The movers showed up right on time both days and got right to work. I was impressed with their communication and attention to detail with wrapping our more fragile items and furniture. The actual pick up and delivery processes were awesome. They were thorough in every aspect of packing and unloading, no items were damaged at all. The moving team also told me on pick up day that they would surely be the same team delivering the items. This is a little detail but means a lot to me as a customer. I’m sure it isn’t always possible to have all (or most of) the same team to pick up and drop off on stored "double" moves, but I’m really glad it worked out for mine. The dispatch team was responsive as well. Follow up: There was a follow up call a few business days after the move, and it was a pleasant call. I was asked a few questions about the move, the movers, the process, etc. I told them pretty much all I typed out here. I will say, having worked with a couple larger name moving companies this hasn’t happened for me before and it was a welcome experience. Overall, having worked with other larger national moving companies - having a more personal touch to the move was refreshing. I’ll absolutely use Red Carpet Moving again if (when) I move within the bay area again.

I had not moved in 25(!) years and chose these guys based on reviews. They are so great. Fast, efficient and SO nice. And when they told me that the elevator was inoperable (oh man, seriously!?) and i apologized, one of the guys said "it’s okay, it happens". wow I would never have been that nice about that! I also have lots of breakables, tiffany-style lamps, crystal and china, and not one thing is broken or cracked or chipped. Thank you so much Red Carpet!! Useful

Chris and Jay helped us move from Walnut Creek to Livermore. I was quoted $525 for the 3 hour min to move out of a 1br apartment. They told me they would arrive between 7-9a. They showed up promptly at 7:45 and had the truck completely loaded and on our way to the new place by 8:45. All said and done they beat the 3 hour min and were very professional. I would 100% recommend this firm and this crew. Will likely use again.

We used these guys yesterday and I was a bit disappointed. Let me give the good first. The arrived on time. Everything was safely delivered from one location to the next with no breakage, dents or dings. The movers were nice clean and courteous. My problem was with the quote. I feel like we got the old bait and switch. We answered all the questions 100% honest and told them exactly what we had. Moving from a 1400 square ft 2 / 2.5 town home. No extra storage no oversized items. We were told 3 men and 1 truck $530 and $130 ish for every hour over the first 3. Given this I thought OK it may run 1 maybe 2 hours longer. As I said the team was good but slow from start to finish. So slow that I started to unload my own stuff because it was taking forever. Needless to say I was floored to receive the extra charge of over $600 for the 4.5 hours they went over the quoted time. It was DOUBLE the quote. When I questioned the driver about how long it was taking he said it was due to all of our wardrobe boxes. We told them up front how many wardrobe boxes we needed. At no point in this process were they ever waiting on us. All legit and part of the contract but I have to say I feel like I had a fast one pulled on me. I would not use again and I suggest you get a lot of clarity up front if you chose to use them. I chose them because of Yelp rating but this proves the stars can lead you wrong sometimes.

I really can’t thank Sal and the team at Red Carpet Moving enough for saving me from the bind I was in this weekend. Truly my knights in shining armor! The mover I hired through Uhaul two weeks prior to my moving date decided to straight up not show up on the day. Here I am with a 26’ Uhaul, my 3 bedroom house packed... and no movers (see my review for that company for the harrowing details). I sent out as many quote requests as possible as a Hail Mary for a same day move and Sal was the first to reply with a very professional message. I called him and he was extremely sympathetic to my situation and very patient listening to me being so stressed out. He was able to send a crew of two very hard working guys out a few hours later. They were professional, polite, and courteous even though this was their 3rd move of the day. I really appreciated the care they took with wrapping my furniture and felt like they took every precaution to make sure my things were delivered safely. They were very efficient and I was exhausted just looking at how fast they went up and down my stairs! Wonderful experience, highly recommend that you call these guys first to save yourself hassle on moving day. Thank you Red Carpet!

Wow, that was fast! Not only did the duo for our move arrive a few minutes early, they loaded and unloaded our items quickly. They were pretty much done within the quoted time frame and were super friendly and professional. I love that they laid down their "red carpet" to protect the floor from potential scratches and inevitable debris. They were quite strong, took direction well, and even gave me some interior design advice when I wasn’t sure where to put furniture. We really enjoyed working with them and will definitely recommend this business to others, and call again the next time we move. Thank you!

San Francisco, CA 0 friends 6 reviews Share review Embed review 3/14/2020 I recently hired Red Carpet for a move and had a great experience. 2 movers arrived, exactly during the appointment window, quickly assessed the amount of work to be done, worked efficiently, took great care disassembling furniture, protecting items to be moved, and loading everything into their truck. I’m also using their storage facility to store my belongings until I move into a new house, which is more convenient than contracting with a separate storage facility. Their price was also extremely reasonable and fair, compared to other companies. Definitely a great value. Would not hesitate to use again and would recommend highly to anyone.

We’ve literally just completed our move and it’s been fantastic. We’ve done a number of moves over the years, including international, and this has been one of the best. Sal came to visit to talk us through the process ( not every moving company does that - but they absolutely should) and to do the quote. Great job by Humberto & Juan moving my Ginormous pile of Shtuff. I had one problematically large Desk/Credenza that would not fit in the room due to a very narrow hallway. I had thought that might be the case and I would have to sell it. Lo and behold, Humberto starts taking it apart in the hall, they manage to get the bulky metal frame of it in the room followed by the other wooden pieces and they reassemble it in the room. Impressive! They also wrapped and padded everything and boxed up a bunch of loose stuff. They quoted me $475 for 3 hours work by 2 men. It took 4.5 hours of non-stop work and ended up at $655. Higher than I wanted, of course, but I am still glad I used them. Above and beyond my expectations! Thanks Red Carpet!

If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. Perfect move from start to finish - timely, friendly, efficient, polite, fast and incredibly reasonably priced. Especially compared to other companies. Red Carpet scheduled my move exactly when I wanted it - first thing in the morning on a Saturday so we had the rest of the weekend to settle in. And they do not charge for their drive time! How amazing is that? They handled antiques with perfect care and made no big deal about having to get heavy pieces up a narrow steep flight of steps in an old house. They even assembled a bed we’d bought for the new place on Craigslist unassembled. And they provided missing screws. And they did it in the blink of an eye. I am so grateful that Sal, their scheduler, reached out to me via Yelp when I was looking for a moving company! Call them if you want a move without stress. You’ll be glad you did.

I recommend Red Carpet Moving without hesitation. There were no hidden/unexpected fees, they showed up on time, they are great at what they do, they do it fast and efficiently (important considering $ is by the hour), and, as a bonus, everyone with whom I dealt from start to finish was professional and courteous. Bottom line, I tipped almost $100 on a $400 move. That pretty much says it all.

I would give zero stars if possible. It took 6 hours or so to move a 600sq foot apartment and an additional two furniture pieces from my mothers house. I have nice furniture and I take care of it. I have a Pottery barn armoire/closet bought it for $2200. Beautiful and spotless. These people move the closet and make a huge crack on the side of the closet. When I called them a day later they wouldn’t answer the phone. I called three days in a row about 3-5 times each time and nothing. I’m sure they avoided answering the phone as used a different number to call them and they answered finally. They said they have insurance and it is 0.60 cents per pound. I don’t care about the insurance. I just want the huge crack fixed on my beautiful closet. My closet was very heavy they said 400lbs They had me fill out a paper and I emailed it back to them they said they’d call me within 48hours.. 72hrs went by and NOTHING. So I start calling them daily again and finally after 5 calls they answer. I tell the guy how hard it’s been to get a hold of them and he said "yeah I saw you called 4 times""sorry about that." Ha A week later they sent me a check for 254$. What the heck does that money do for me if my closet is still ruined. It cost me 2000$! And you give me 250?! Avoid them at all cost. They tell you one price but then they add additional charges. IMAGINE HOW MUCH IT WOULVE BEEN IF I WAS MOVING OUT OF A HOUSE! My closet is now worthless because the crack is huge. Not a legitimate company. Called to have them give us a quote; Sal was supposed to e-mail me the quote and never did. I called and e-mailed multiple times with no response. When you call, the call gets transferred to a voice mail. We got Waters to take care of the move.

Was a terrible experience! Three of our boxes mysteriously never made it from the truck to our new home (one of them was a huge 6 foot by 4 foot box- there's no way they could be overlooked). The company avoided our calls, didn’t answer to the problem at all and despite numerous requests for a receipt or invoice never delivered one. Shady!

Its 11 at night after moving all day from the Bay Area to Fresno and I couldnt sleep even with how exhausted I am because I wanted to write this review. I CANNOT understate how FANTASTIC our experience was! We felt extremely cared for the entire time (which when moving with a 17 month old is huge). Sal came to my house to give us a quote...worked with me to make sure we had the right crew in place for each part of the job so we paid for exactly the right size team. (2 packers a day prior, 4 loading up the truck, 3 unloading the truck to maximize efficiency but keep our costs down). Nothing was broken or fact they even helped us fix a few small things in our new house. They were careful with our items and thoughtful in making sure we were comfortable with how things were packed, labeled and making sure they ended up in the right place. They even rolled out their red carpets for us...literally to help keep the house clean! Fresno is likely just a couple year stint for us so we will definitely be calling them when we head back to the Bay in a few years!

Sal was great to work with in booking appointment and changing of dates based our escrow close on home. Very communicative and we appreciated very much, no stress. Adrian and his team showed up on time, assessed what needed to be moved. Rolled out the red carpet, protected corners and got to work on our big move from old home and got us moved into our new home by Noon the same day. We got a courtesy call post move. I have already recommended to a couple of friends for their upcoming moves.

Update: Local move from WC to Dublin, hired them since they are very closeby, and can offer 8-9am window of arrival. Five star service. This is my first time hiring a moving team for the job, considering the 1b1b move, ~15 cardboard boxes, ~3 clear boxes, TV, bed, sofa, shelves, luggages, and a whole lot others, the team finished within 5 hours (30min drive to the new place) with super efficient wrapping, moving, and placing in designated rooms upon arrival. I can feel that they just want you to be as satisfied as possible, and I am truly grateful for the service delivered. Everything was intact and neat. Definitely recommend Red Carpet Moving (oh btw, did I mention they literally roll red carpets in your room to prevent scratching and stains on carpet, bravo!) to everyone. Will hire again next time when moving.

This is the 2nd time that we have worked with this company. Last time they wrapped up all our furniture so well that after 2 years in storage, our furniture was in pristine condition. They literally wrapped every piece of furniture in paper and then saran wrapped it all. We needed them to load up all our furniture from our storage unit, swing by the place we were moving out of to pick up a bunch of boxes/ totes and then drop everything off at our new place. The new place has 3 floors, and these guys did everything without complaining. We have a heavy safe--and the movers literally picked it up like it was nothing and took it up to the 3rd floor. Their work is efficient and fast. They have great customer service--working with you to move as quickly as possible, and everything arrived in great condition. Now, when you work with them, they take $600 deposit. This gives you 3 workers, and a 3 hour schedule including the gas/ drive time for them the whole trip. Any additional hour is $150 charged in 15 min increments. These guys don't complain, take amazing direction, and were a joy to work with. We are definitely grateful to work with them! We will be calling these guys for the Red Carpet treatment again the next time we have to move!

Arrived right on time and after reviewing what needed to be packed got right to it. Driver Don, packers Juan and Carlos were great. Got done in 5 hrs. Arrived next day right on time at 7 and got done in 2 1/2 hrs. Drive Don and unpacker Nu-Nu were great! All the guys were friendly, never complained and were a joy to work with. My husband has out them on the movers list for his company and I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone!

From the beginning of planning the move, working through the details with Sal, to the actual moving day with Chris and his team, Red Carpet made the stresses of moving a rather enjoyable and cost effective experience. On moving day, Chris and his team made a move from Walnut Creek to Santa Cruz (6.5 hours total - travel and labor) very smooth and easy! They were very prompt, efficient, thorough and professional the whole way through. I would recommend their services to anyone... couldn't have done it without their expertise and skill to ensure everything was moved out and moved in safely, fully protected and well placed.

Having never used a moving company before and hearing from friends about their bad experiences we were nervous indeed to entrust our belongings to just anyone. When Sal came to our home to discuss the process we felt much more at ease. Once we were on board he helped us prepare along the way. Sal and Jay were always there for us as we prepared for moving day. The day of the move went smoothly and the guys (TJ's crew) were compassionate and personable (this was a very emotional day for us) as well as took special care to protect our things. Their cost included moving items to Pleasanton apartment, storage of furniture and household items, and then our move to Truckee in November. We truly recommend Red Carpet Moving and Storage!

Had a stress-free experience with Red Carpet Movers. They kept in contact with me prior to the moving date, so I didn't have to worry about any delays or last minute surprises. The two men they sent were amazing: fast, efficient, and well-skilled in what they do. I liked the fact that when I asked at the last minute if I could add on 2 bikes + a file cabinet they replied;" of course, our truck is huge". This review is difficult for us to write because we actually used their services twice and both times they performed well. The reason for the 1 star rating is that after our 2nd move we noticed that our digital camera was missing. We knew exactly where it was and which box it should have been placed into, but it was nowhere to be found. Now, this isn't a huge financial loss, it is more of an emotional and personal issue as the camera had many photos of our children and grandchildren which we are going to miss. We contacted Sal right away to notify him of the missing camera. He seemed, at first, willing to follow up on the issue. Apparently, he had hired several local workers not affiliated with Red Carpet to assist with our move and he said he was going to follow up and try to find out what may have happened. Well, several weeks, phone calls, emails, texts later, Sal refuses to communicate with us. This is really disappointing, given that we used his company twice and referred him to others as well. After reading some other reviews, I see this is a common problem with Red Carpet and Sal! I will never refer anyone to someone who cannot deal honestly with a customer who has spent thousands of dollars using their services. Most of all, I am sorry that Sal is too cowardly to communicate with us and try and settle what should have been a relatively minor issue. BUYER BEWARE OF RED CARPET MOVING AND STORAGE AND PARTICULARLY SAL!
