I hired ProMaster Movers to move me and my family from New Hampshire to Texas. I provided a very detailed inventory to get the most accurate estimate possible. Once the movers arrived and loaded all of my items on the truck I was told I owed an additional $3,000. Since everything was already on the truck I had no option other than to simply pay the difference. I should also mentioned they tried to charge me for 2500 cubic feet of space, when the truck only held 1700 cubic feet. I literally had to get out a tape measure and measure the truck in the presence of the driver so he could see that they truck was only 1700 cubic feet. It wasn't until I refused to pay that they "cut me a deal" and only charged me for 1700 cubic feet (my estimate was 1100 cubic feet). I attempted to contact my sales person to let her know what had happened and she never responded. The moving company they sub-contracted with also lost several of my items and has also stopped answering my phone calls. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences of my life.”

This is a 'Bait and Switch Outfit'! Stay away! I called in Oct 2018 to get an estimate to move from Austin,TX to CA. moving a 3300sqft home. Spoke with moving consultant who quoted &6450 after a few questions about what big furniture items I had. That was about $2000 better than other company quotes I received. I explained that I would be selling some furniture as we were downsizing and was told we could rereviewing the list a week prior to the move at the end of Nov. I paid $2500 deposit and then could not get in touch with consultant a week prior to move leaving 3 voicemails to no avail. Another rep finally called me back and told me adjustments couldn't be made but the driver would adjust as he loaded items. It turned out that the volume estimate of my move was so incorrect that my move costed twice the estimate for half the items. Then I was told by the driver that I would need to pay by cashiers check or cash only to get my belonging delivered in CA. Their estimates are intentionally low to hook you then jacked up so they can hold your belonging hostage till you pay....in cash! Terrible company!”

Here's what you need to know if you will be booking with Promaster Movers. They will underquote the cost of the move so when the movers show up, you will owe more money. Now let's talk about the movers actually showing up. Promaster will contract out with another moving company to load and unload your belongings. You won't know who it will be. You will be contacted with a date and time to load about 24 hours in advance and depending on the mover, they will also send an email confirmation. The moving company will not actually show up in the window of time they confirmed and they definitely won't show up on the day they confirmed. If they cancel your move after not showing on the date and time they confirmed, take my advice and let them cancel. My biggest mistake (besides booking with Promaster in the first place) was having them reopen the move because they promised to come load me up the next morning. Sounds reasonable. Wrong. They were no-shows that day too. In fact, it took three days' worth of confirming and changing times that they would actually load up my place before they actually showed. And it still wasn't in the timeframe they specified. The movers who loaded me up were Aztec Movers out of Los Angeles. The guys who loaded my stuff were great, and this situation wasn't their fault, but operations- a complete F. I gave a window of two days when I needed my stuff delivered. A driver called me and told me they would be delivering my things on the morning of the first day. I even received email confirmation. It was from a different moving company- Hawkeye Movers Ltd. Great, sounds like they're going to deliver, right? Wrong. I'm beginning to think this company doesn't actually exist. The two phone numbers included in their confirmation email are disconnected. The phone number of the driver who contacted me doesn't answer or accept voicemail. The driver has texted me with promises of different times they would be here over the last two days and they have never showed. Now that it is after their last date and time promised, nobody is responding to emails or texts. This company will not honor their contract with you and you will have no recourse. You will not receive a discount or refund. You won't even get your stuff delivered! So, if you need a company to come load up all of your earthly possessions and make them disappear forever on their own timeframe, Promaster Movers, Aztec Movers, and Hawkeye Movers Ltd are the way to go.”

Had ProMaster Movers move my friends and I to Colorado earlier this summer and was glad enough with their level of service to leave a review. Most moving companies quoted us a much higher figure for our move than ProMaster Movers. Not only were they cheaper but they could actually move us on the perfect day (last day of our rental agreement). Movers were on time and really professional as they went about their business. The beginning of the process was great with Shawn **. He was extremely nice, accommodating with changes, and helpful. They required a 1/3 of the total cost due upfront, and this was my first time scheduling a move, so I didn't know any different. Once it was sold, I was put in contact with the "operations team." They were hard to get a hold of, but would usually call me back within a few hours. Everything seemed fine, until about 3 days before our scheduled move. I was told that there was an issue with the truck scheduled to move us, and was asked if a later date would be ok. I told them no, because we had already given our notice to move out, and start date at my new job 2000 miles away. The woman on the phone let me know that she would do everything she could to get it rectified. She called me back about an hour later saying they found another truck, and we were still on for the scheduled date.”

Had constant contact with the rep, Vanessa **, but after 7 days of contact, she disappeared from the face of the Earth. No email reply, no call reply, absolutely nothing. I was in the dark on my move for several WEEKS before anything happened. I called daily to try to get in contact with any person from this company and I still had to wait several weeks for any person to reply. I had to constantly contact this company for 2-3 weeks for me to get any push on my belongings to move. If I could give them zero stars, I would. After agreeing to work with this company, nothing went well. They quoted me a price based on a detailed itemized list of what I was moving then charged me $500 more the day of the move because they claimed it took up more square feet than anticipated. After researching this type measurement, it's really easy for moving companies to dupe people into paying more by charging per square foot versus by weight. Many states have actually made it illegal to charge based on square feet for this reason.”

Both were blatant lies and a number of my boxes were destroyed. The office staff was incredibly rude and vague. They also tried to give me 2 hours delivery notice while I was in another city after refusing to provide any idea of when the shipment would actually arrive. They also hired about other moving companies to fulfill different legs of the trip without telling me who had possession of my shipment or what the timing expectations were. The actual movers were very nice and did a nice job packing my things, but none of them actually work for ProMasters & I would not use ProMasters again.”

I didn’t have much time for packing, so I entrusted them with that task as well. They handled my belongings carefully, also provided some specialty boxes for my fragile items. Everything went smoothly, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that my belongings couldn’t fit into the tiny storage unit. As a result, some of my boxes were moved to a storage located far away from my both homes and the delivery was 5 days late. I itemized every piece of furniture I had and even over estimated with things I decided not to move with. When they arrived they claimed that I need twice the size as what they quoted me for at over twice the price. Also they told me they would call 48 hours before they arrive for the move. They never called they just showed up and I was not fully prepared so they wanted to charge me to help me pack. I spoke with their person in charge and they would not budge on the prices. Which was now way more than I was quoted. I ended up telling them to leave. I rented a uhaul and moved myself 11 hrs to another state. They never refunded my deposit and never answered my calls. They are untrustworthy, unprofessional and deceptive. I will never hire a moving company because of them. If I could give them zero stars I would.”

Use this company if 1. You are going on a month-long vacation after giving them your goods. 2. You don't care if your items will arrive in time or they will arrive at all. It all started with a pleasing person who started the deal, the "relocation specialist". Before the deal, he is so nice that he says he is available 24/7 to help us. Then, came the drivers and unexpected things started to happen. Still at that time, we were too naive to suspect anything. We had told him what items we had. We actually overstated the amount of goods we had. We had less number of boxes than we estimated. Still, the driver charged us more saying our items took more space than booked. We were also charged fuel surcharge, in contrast to the deal. However, we did not care much. We were in a rush to leave the apartment we were living in. We came to our new place in Maine, hoping that they would arrive around 7/10/2019. We waited a few days, and when the goods did not arrive, we started calling them - the "relocation manager" and the customer service. For 1000-1500 miles, they said we need to wait for 2-14 business days, that's about the number of miles from pick-up to destination. They would never say where the goods were. All they said was, the delivery driver would call us 24 hours prior. Nothing happened. Then, they gave us the number of "dispatch center". Nobody picks up. There is no dispatch center. The "relocation manager" hasn't lost his cool, but the customer service has been rude when answering questions.”
