Overall a great experience with Optimum Moving. I would highly recommend their services. We hired them for a short move in Brooklyn including full packing services. Optimum Moving successfully moved us with absolutely no broken items. Truly impressive as we typically assume a bit of collateral damage along the way. Estimate: super professional in-person estimate as we requested full packing services (just a normal move can be done online). The estimator stopped by to do an inventory about 2 weeks before the move and gave us a "will not exceed" quote. Took about 30 min. Arrival: On-time. The moving supervisor walked us through the costs again and they were consistent with the original quote. No surprises. Packing & Moving: Really impressive packing. We had a team of five pack and load our entire 2-bedroom apartment in 4 hours. Arrived to the new apartment after a short lunch break (no delays). The unpack was quick and professional. All the furniture was reassembled perfectly. No damage to the elevators, floors, or walls. Cost: No surprises at all. The the estimate is what we paid as we took the whole 9 hours to move. Absolutely no surprise fees.”

In this day and age people should learn that customer service is KEY...and can make and break a business. I called Optimum Moving and from the customer service call, it was nothing optimum about it! The representative was rude and not informative. Just based on that I write this review. The face/voice of the company is important! He was ONLY concerned with the $195.00 that it would cost me for them to come out before they even did anything not to mention the fact that they require a 3 hour minimum. Seems a bit much in this COVID19 era, where things are chaotic for so many people and businesses are folding left and right. While I say price how you want, it is a million moving companies around. Have some character and professionalism when talking on the phone and be KIND!”

Not only did they move us at the height of the pandemic, but they completely put me at ease during the move as I was doing it without my husband who was admitted to the hospital the day before our move. They were professional, kind, clean, fast, and courteous beyond words. The owner even swung by during the move and helped out and assured me they I had their best team working with me that day (which I already knew, but it was nice to see his confidence in his men). Paid TOP DOLLAR (28K) for a move from New Jersey to Nevada. DESTROYED my grandfather clock, ran the chains off the sprockets, Lladro's damaged, thrown in with other items, etc. I cried with every box I opened. Not enough people to box up or unpack. They had no lock for the trailer in front of my house with all my possessions. I thought with all the great ratings that I would be taken care of bt nope. On the plus side they did show up on time for the packing and unpacking. UPDATE*** Sorry Elvis. there is NOTHING you can do to "make this right". I am still unpacking and finding items destroyed! PLUS wife's jewelry was left in one dresser and spilling out of the bottom. The carelessness of this job is beyond my powers to describe! I should have gone with Bekins or Mayflower. It would have been BETTER and CHEAPER. I stand behind my words!!!!”

We needed to move my elderly mother out of her large home. She had arranged for a mover, but she had not properly prepared or communicated. As a result, the movers only moved a portion of her extensive belongings. With the closing on her house only days away, we were in a crisis. We needed another mover ASAP. I explained the dire situation and he said that they could help due to a cancellation. The price quote was very clear and transparent. My moving team packed me on a Monday and are loading me up right now today, Thursday. I did not know that they wrap and tape every single piece of furniture they move. Im very impressed with their work so far. I'll update this if I need to as they unpack. My only quibble is the high charge for credit card payments. They prefer cash and that's a little problematic given the (competitive) prices. The moving day itself is a flat charge. Packing was by the hour. I also appreciated that my foreman on Monday, Delvon, was the same one on Thursday, so he k we what was going on. The courtesy calls when the trucks were on their way was very nice too. I had originally gotten Optimum in a list from a moving coordinator website. I contacted them first because a friend had used them for his move and was pleased. So far I'm pleased too!”
